Amazing staff, always ready to go above and beyond the call of duty. Very caring and loving, some even buy my mum things out of their own pocket. The activities are great, they have organised outside visits for shopping etc.
A fantastic team with no changes to staff, all seem happy and hopefully will
stay here.

The staff are friendly and welcoming. Mum is settled, happy, and engaged. The staff is not changing regularly so it is like visiting family. I trust them and have huge respect for the job they do. Mum loves the food and has put weight on - she would let me know if she didn't like it! Just little "normal"
things - seeing Mum and her friends sat in the garden with an ice lolly.

Elm Lodge is a welcoming home and has kept me in touch with my father even during this time. Nothing seems too much effort for the staff and management. I looked around a lot of homes before my father left the hospital and this one was by far the best. My father has never been a social person, but that
doesn't stop the staff trying to include him in the daily activities. He says he's happy here and well looked after. So thank you to all for all you do.

My sister came to Elm Lodge initially on a respite stay due to health concerns. At first, my sister was very reluctant to go into a care home, but eventually, she did agree. It has been hard during recent events, but my sister has stayed positive and chosen to stay at Elm Lodge on a permanent basis.
My sister now classes this as her home and has never been so busy with all the activities she does.

I feel I need to write a review for Elm Lodge. My cousin has been with Elm Lodge for quite some time and I can finally see the vast improvements in her health and wellbeing. Since the changeover of management recently I cannot praise the home and staff enough.
Things are difficult at present with
lockdown and the home have gone above and beyond to keep in touch with us the families and nothing Is ever too much trouble. I can't recommend and praise the home enough. Keep up the good work, it is much appreciated Thank you.

It’s always nice to visit Elm Lodge. I can see that residents enjoy living there and the staff enjoy working there. Staff members are so friendly and always greet you politely. It’s really nice to see that the managers are also very involved with care work and not just say in an office like other homes.
There are always interesting activities happening and I like to keep up with what is going on via their social media. Recently I have noticed that staff are working hard to protect their residents from the effects of the pandemic, and they’re doing so well. I’ve noticed that they are trying to innovate the way that they work to reduce the effects while maintaining the happiness of those who live there first and foremost.

Elm Lodge is a very loving and caring home. The staff are very professional and care for the residents every need. Activities are carried out every day always something different keeping the residents active and alert. The food is very good and the home is very clean and well maintained. The manager
always has time for me even if I only want a chat. The manager has only been there since December but has settled in nicely and making a lot of changes for the better.

My Grandad lives here at Elm Lodge and I have had to write a review just to say how well he is looked after and cared for. During this pandemic, the staff and home manager have done their utmost to keep us in contact with our loved ones. I have no doubt in my mind that my Grandad is well looked after
and that is a huge weight off my family's mind during this difficult time. Thank you to each and every one of you!

My friend loves living at this home. I am so glad that the activities have improved, the care she receives is caring and loving. The food is fresh and cooked well, she has no bad words to say about the staff, they are very professional and the new manager who started after Christmas is very approachable.
And I think she will make this home a better place to live in.

I wanted to write a review to express my happiness with the improvements since the new manager took over. I can tell by the changes made and improvement in several areas that the manager is very experienced and is always available to relatives to answer any questions or discussions with regards to the
care of my mum. The home now feels more welcoming and my mum is so happy now she is joining in with all the activities. So pleased my mum is settled and the home has improved. I would now recommend this home to anybody.

The staff are the key to a well-run care home. At Elm Lodge the staff I feel are very caring, approachable and look after the residents in a good manner. Whenever I have a question, they always do their best to assist and find a solution. Some aspects can be difficult to assess during a short visit,
ie. cleanliness, food and drink, but on the whole, I have a feeling of satisfaction and more importantly, my father appears happy in the home. Costs are probably about right for the home, considering increasing costs and care home availability.

Current Review Score: 9.5 (9.483)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.5 (9.483) out of 10 for Elm Lodge Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 16 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 15 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.608 for Elm Lodge Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (120 Excellents x 5) + (64 Goods x 4) + (5 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 189 Ratings = 4.608
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.875 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Elm Lodge Care Home is based on 15 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.875
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 46 registered maximum number of service users is 9.2, which has been reached with 15 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Dear Residents, Families, Colleagues, and Friends.
Meet Our New Home Manager at Elm Lodge

Hello everyone! My name is Shoaib Mohammed, but please call me Mo. I’m very happy to be joining Elm Lodge as the new Home Manager.

I’ve worked in residential and dementia care for over 7 years, and caring for the elderly is truly close to my heart. My passion for care began when I helped look after my grandmother, who lived to the wonderful age of 109. That experience shaped my values and inspired me to build my career in elderly care.

My goal at Elm Lodge is to make sure every resident feels safe, respected, listened to, and at home. I’m really looking forward to getting to know our residents, families, staff, and the wider community.

‘I believe residents are no longer written off, no longer a Strain on Services, no longer just a woman with Dementia but a mother who was many great things to many people’

I strongly believe that the best care comes from working together. I look forward to getting to know our residents, building trusting relationships with families, supporting our wonderful staff, and being an active part of the local community.

Please feel free to stop me for a chat when your @Elm Lodge, share your thoughts, or simply say hello—I am always happy to listen:)
