This recently refurbished (2024), purpose-built home, accommodates up to 40 residents, featuring 36 private bedrooms—many with en-suite options and some designed for double occupancy.

My uncle has been a resident at The Green, Hasland for 4 years and we cannot fault his care. He is disabled and we have found all protocols are adhered to for moving and lifting of disabled persons.
He has assisted bathing, washing and dressing. In fact all personal care that maintains his dignity.
The
staff are friendly and make time to listen to resident's needs and concerns which are addressed if need be.
The meals are wholesome and portion sizes are provided in proportion to appetite, no one goes hungry. Plus there are snacks in between if desired.
My sister and I have been particularly grateful for the continued care and updates during quarantine. As he is very hard of hearing we are unable to speak to our uncle by phone so staff have passed messages and news back and forth.
While clinics have been closed, staff have sourced a dentist and a chiropodist to maintain his care.

My experience of The Green Nursing Home, Hasland, Chesterfield is through my father being a resident. My family are extremely happy with his care. The conditions and comfort are very good and this backed by excellent staff make it a place I would recommend unreservedly. In my experience residents are
treated with kindness and courtesy and I have witnessed on many occasions staff taking time to listen and respond to their needs with gentleness and understanding. This home has well surpassed all my expectations - highly delighted.

-Staff are first rate, well managed, with low turnover.
-Excellent chef/kitchen staff producing good food.
-Premises are in very good condition - always being updated.
The above combine to give an excellent nursing home, where the residents clearly come first. Up to date monitoring systems in
place, maximising staff time with residents.
Proactive 'activities manager' ensures a varied plan of activities to engage residents.

My mother has declared all her life that she would NEVER be happy in a care home. Having visited quite a few over the years, I shared her concerns. Fast forward to an essential period of respite following a fall, and my mother decided for herself that she wished to stay in The Green permanently.
This is nothing short of miraculous and speaks volumes about the level of care and comfort here. The Green is clean, well managed, a lovely environment and without exception, all of the staff have been helpful, kind, caring and professional. With a small amount of customisation, her room has truly become her new home and she is totally relaxed and says she feels safe for the first time in ages. From being down and disinterested, my mother is already looking forward to 'trimming' her room for Christmas and excited about the imminent party to celebrate the 25 year anniversary of the opening of The Green. The whole family is grateful for the peace of mind we now enjoy.

My room is just the right size for me to move around in comfortably. A choice of day rooms, one of which lends itself to activities- scrabble, bingo, quiz, hobby crafts, visitors, the gardens have just been updated with wheelchair width paths and seating areas. The staff are very professional but show
us all a great deal of empathy, I have felt very comfortable and at ease. The kitchen provides freshly cooked meals for every meal time- we sit on small tables which encourages conversation, access to the local doctors is excellent and hospital.
