King William Residential Home is bursting with character, having once been a public house. Now transformed into a 28 bed residential home, it benefits from some truly unique and individual bedrooms. A number of residents have pets and your pets will always be considered. The standard of the bedroom accommodation means that you will have to go a long way to find better.

There are fantastic communal facilities with a large comfortable lounge where residents socialise and regular entertainment is staged. There is a further, newly decorated garden lounge with access to a lovely spacious garden, with raised beds for those who like to potter. There is also a fully equipped craft room to pursue all kinds of hobbies from arts and crafts, to painting and model making. This home is very active with regular trips to the shops and local attractions, live entertainment, access to centralised facilities and exercise classes, there is a whole lot to keep you busy at King William.

An onsite hairdressing salon means you will be looking your best and with regular visits from a chiropodist, dentist, physiotherapist and GP when required, you can feel very well looked after indeed. Staff are well trained and committed, they go out of their way to ensure you have everything you need.

After a number of different care homes which we reviewed, we visited the King William. We were bowled over by the warmth and care we received on a spot visit. My grandmother has lived there since October 2016. She looks so well cared for, the entertainment which is daily gets everyone involved, not
to mention the hairdresser who comes on site to the house salon. I popped in the other day for a chat and catch up, was offered a cuppa and biscuits whilst my nan had her nails done. We chatted about the upcoming social event at an Easter fair and was shown pictures of my nan doing crafts the previous week. The staff are caring thoughtful and the manager is always around for advice along with her key worker.

After relocating my grandparents from abroad to the King William some 8 months ago I am pleased to say they have settled in well. The staff are friendly and helpful to both residents and visiting family. The food is good (I have tried it) the home facilitates entertainment for the residents and allows
me to visit anytime day or night which is reassuring, both my grandparents who are in the mid-nineties are happy here. In the summer they spent much time in the gardens and we also went on shopping trips into town and even a visit to the pub. I am glad I chose this care home.

Very clean and tidy. Staff are very friendly and welcoming. Dads looking loads better/happier since we moved him here from the other home. He always seems to be doing some activity there and they have brilliant entertainment on.

My mum is well cared for in King William, I'm satisfied she is happy and content she would say or give me some indication if she wasn't. She is secure which is important her room is nice and she has settled lovely. She used to go once or twice a week since 2014 so she thinks it's her home now.

My mum went into this home permanently this month. I couldn't have wished for a better home for her. She loves it there. The staff are so caring and friendly. My mum is looking so much better now she is in there. Her room is lovely, spacious and the food is really nice. She is looked after really well.
She has her hair and nails done and they have a good programme of entertainment. I can't praise them enough.

My husband is in a very caring and safe place sometimes he has a fall but the carers are very quick and make sure he is well taken care of. The place is always 100% clean and even though my husband does not always join in with things there is always something happening.
The food is really very good
and my husband enjoys his food. The staff do a remarkable job.

I have stayed at the King William for 3 weeks respite care and during this time I am happy to say I have enjoyed my time here. My room was lovely and the food was outstanding. All the staff have been warm and welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. I would absolutely recommend King William to anyone,
the staff are very rare.

The home is excellent but both my parents smoke and they could do with a shelter to smoke in as they are left in the rain. They would settle a lot better if this was put in place. Food, staff are lovely, cant fault them.
