Outstanding Care has been given to my Mum. Every member of staff is friendly with a caring, compassionate nature. All staff go above & beyond to make sure my mum is comfortable, I could not wish for a better nursing home for my mum. You should all be proud of yourselves as you are all amazing!! Super team! My mum had a great experience at this home. I wasn't sure how she'd get on at a care home but this one feels more like a hotel stay which for her was comforting. She said how wonderful the staff were and really liked the room she was in.

The whole tone is set by the fantastic managers Rebecca who insists on things that matter - H & S, regular DBS checks, awareness of inappropriate touching (staff as well as residents) but enables residents to feel as much at home as possible.

I have confidence that Dad is safe and cared for.

I moved in February, i felt out of place and I was worried i had done the wrong thing, After returning from hospital for a long period of time to Codnor Park, that is when I felt so welcomed, felt I fitted in and felt like it was home and it has only gone from strength to strength. The staff are fantastic, and so are management, they are very approachable Always clean, food is nice, very high ratings.

Dad moved to valley lodge from another care home following a stay in hospital. He is so much happier here than in his previous home. The staff are so amazingly proactive and engaged with the residents and there is always something to do. The move has improved not only the quality of his life but mine too as I know he's happy. My late wife was in Valley Lodge for 2 years and was very well looked after. My ex wife is now a resident and, as we're still good friends, I go down and see her regularly. It was lovely going back there after my wife died, because everyone remembered me and were very friendly and welcoming. I've been down recently with some music from their era to share with them - performed by a Festival Singers group - of which my late wife and I were members and all the residents were thrilled. I shall be going back to share more songs with them. When you arrive at Valley Lodge, the staff are always welcoming and charming and I feel comfortable that my late wife was well cared for, as is my ex wife now. If I have to go into a care home, Valley Lodge would be my first choice.

When we were looking for a care home for my stepmother a while back, we happened upon the charismatic manager at Valley Lodge and were smitten. Fast forward to now, and my mother became a Valley Lodge resident 3 months ago. We moved her from down south and gave her the choice of 5 local care homes. We took her into Valley Lodge and there we were welcomed with warmth and enthusiasm by familiar smiling faces. My mother was enchanted by the manager, who treated her with respect and sympathy, acknowledging the recent loss of her husband, but also helping her to see the positives in this new chapter of her life. She immediately chose Valley Lodge. The vibe there is cheerful and welcoming. They've done a lot of work to make the place inviting and comfortable. The staff are, without exception, delightful, helpful, upbeat and capable - and they're a real team. My mother moved in here a couple of months ago and we have been extremely happy with the way she has been looked after. It was a tricky time after the death of her husband and the staff and particularly the lady in charge have been exceptional in helping her to settle. Thank You!

Mum moved to the Firs a year ago from another care home, as she then needed nursing care for her needs. All the staff are all very polite, helpful, caring and always had a smile for you. Everywhere was very clean and mums room was always spotless, bed made and the towel fan on the bed was a lovely touch, no wonder she thought she was in a hotel. The care was first class making sure her insulin and medication were always on time, making sure she was happy and safe. Mum was encouraged to join in with the activities everyday and go out on trips, she even won a trophy for bowling. Mum carried on having her hair done weekly which has always been her routine, toiletries supplied and this was all in with the price. We were always kept informed at every step of the way as mum had very complex needs. She was treated with respect and dignity all the time especially though at her end of life, making sure she left the home looking peaceful and as lovely as she always did. Five star home

I wouldn't hesitate to choose the home again should my dad need permanent or further respite care.

Each time I have visited my great aunt I have witnessed the team interacting with the residents in a kind and positive manner. Well done all!

We moved Mum from a home where she was not encouraged to participate and her needs were not met, in short, she was left in bed all day, to sleep, eat , be cleaned etc. we cannot believe the difference in the Firs!! So clean, beautifully decorated, made to feel more homely. Staff are amazing and very attentive to Mum's needs , encouraging her to sit (in special chair) to take part in activities and to join in conversation. I am very pleased with the professionalism of all staff, combined with caring attitude. The activities and trips(which are daily) are amazing and planned to encourage all residents to take part and enjoy. I feel guilty that Mum was not moved sooner! All extras, weekly hairdresser, toiletries, manicure, trips and activities are included in the weekly price, which was not the case in her previous home

A dear friend of ours has been in the King William for just over a year and we cannot believe how settled she has become. We try to visit her most weeks and if there is entertainment we can see the difference in the residents. The staff are extremely helpful and kind. We could recommend anyone to think about the King William for a relative or friend.

Now we have complete peace of mind knowing my dad is happy, safe, respected, and genuinely cared for like a king. You can clearly see that the whole of the team are passionate about giving the very best care possible. The activities, outtings, one 2 ones are just fantastically organised a real dream team, every single member of the team deserve recognition they all do incredible job, all of the team are truly appreciated by our whole of the family.

After signing in, I was promptly taken to her room, passing through bright, light reception rooms on each floor where residents were relaxing, chatting and resting on comfortable furniture, with TV and refreshments available. Her room was a 5-star, ensuite, with a view over the park. It was immaculate, and she commented on how caring everyone was.

My sister was a resident from December 2024 until her death in April 2026. She was 95 years old. During this time she wa always treated with love, dignity and respect by all the staff who work hard, collaboratively, with affection and humour. Residents are actively encouraged in exercise, entertainment and activities which sustain levels of motivation, social interaction and life enhancing skills. During her final hours I was deeply moved by the efforts all the staff made to make my sister comfortable. She was ever grateful to all the staff as are all her immediate family. Thank you!
