Springwood House Residential Care Home

My mother has been living in Springwood for two years now. She has been very happy. Everyone of the staff is pleasant, friendly and professional. They go above and beyond with their caring. My mother has enjoyed the many activities on offer, especially the poetry group and the visiting singers, jazz bands and animals. From day one, she has said the food is excellent. Well done, Springwood.

My mother was a resident of Springwood for three years. The home provides a caring, family orientated environment. The care they provided in my mothers final months was exemplary, and I would not hesitate to recommend Springwood to any family.

We feel blessed to have found a care home that has a happy country house feel. The owners and staff are professional, caring and kind to residents. They go the extra mile to accommodate. We feel we can relax knowing that Mum is being cared for in a lovely environment.

My mother moved in on 8th Jan and although we both found the step daunting the staff at Springwood have bent over backwards to ensure we both settled quickly. It's a great comfort to me to know my mum is in safe and competent hands. The staff are so kind and genuinely care about their residents. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

She always spoke very highly of just how wonderful they all were and also, that she really enjoyed the food and the good companionship.

Springwood House was very welcoming and there is a very good atmosphere. The staff were very kind and supportive. The food and drink were very good and lots of fresh vegetables and home-cooked meals. The activities were varied and interesting.

Mum says she had a lovely time and I was shown a video showing Mum playing with children, going in a minibus to see a local festival and generally having fun. I felt very happy leaving her there. She told me she felt safe and well looked after. The home was relaxed and cheerful. I cannot say thank you enough.

After a series of falls, we decided our 99-year-old mother could no longer live alone. We looked at several residential homes and decided Springwood was the best. Her bed/sitting room was completely redecorated when staff decided she needed a ground floor room. She settled in straight away and is very happy. The home allowed us the full use of the main sitting room for a family party for mum's 100th birthday and everyone commented favourably on mum's new home and the staff, who arrange and plenty of activities. The hairdresser visits twice a week and the nurse once a week so we know our mother is well cared for.

My stay here being the fourth time I have stayed at Springwood for respite. The care, comfort, assistance and well being was exceptional. The food which is cooked on the premises was nutritious and satisfying.

From our first visit to look around Springwood House, my mother and the family have been treated with kindness and support throughout. My mother has been there nine months now and is very happy.

The staff are amenable, caring and helpful and I'm lucky to have peace of mind that my father is well looked after.

My mother was received on her admission with respect and courtesy and was put at ease by the way everything regarding her stay was explained to her. All aspects of her care and welfare has been excellent. Management and all staff are approachable and helpful at all times. She is very happy there and appreciates what is being done for her.

As soon as my daughter and I entered Springwood House we sensed a happy caring atmosphere. Residents talking to each other and to the staff and staff chatting with and looking after residents. I was not disappointed during my stay. I was so well looked after! Breakfast in the room, aided baths and a knock to make sure you knew about the activities. The food was excellent with frequent tea and coffee. I was also most impressed by the constant kindly care and attention towards the permanent residents! Nothing seemed to be too much trouble. I was able to fully relax after my operation and to be worry free of my domestic responsibility.

I felt reassured that my mother is in a very safe, stimulating and caring residential home. The staff are always available for a chat either in person or on the phone, this is very valuable to me as I live 120 miles away from the home.
