Springwood House Residential Care Home

My wish would be for everyone who needs care could have access to the care standard at Springwood House. It also provides excellent value for money.

My stay was for respite care following a hospital stay. I could not fault the service and care readily provided. The staff of all grades could not be more helpful, willing and above all friendly. any request, no matter how trivial, was dealt with promptly and efficiently. I was particularly impressed by the high standard of maintenance of the building especially the decoration taking into account the high occupancy.

My grandma had a really bad fall which meant she had to go into temporary residential care. We had been recommended Springwood House and had no hesitation about my grandma going there after meeting the staff and management. The best commendation I can give to Springwood House is that my grandma decided she wanted to stay there permanently after just two weeks of their care. She had made friends, is constantly involved in activities (Royal Wedding parties, summer parties) and has thrived physically and mentally under the care of the manager and her team. Her room is stunning, looking out over the Derwent Valley and the staff are so welcoming that you don't feel like you're in a care home (we always get brought drinks, cakes and biscuits). They're a fabulous, experienced team who are full of humour and personality. The chef would also win bake-off with eyes closed and her hands tied behind her back. Springwood House made a very difficult decision very easy for the whole family. Thank you.

Lots of different activities to do and trips out.

My mother's experience has been and continues to be a positive one. The staff are polite, respectful and kind. They genuinely and sincerely get to know the residents and their families, working with them to create the best environment for the residents. The staff treat the residents with dignity and respect. There is NEVER any unpleasant odours, the home is like a home from home and they organise activities and events for the residents to enjoy. The grounds are kept very well maintained for the staff and residents to enjoy. Bedrooms are well equipped and fresh - the whole home is kept clean. The food is very good and nutritious. Mobile beauticians and hairdressers.

Springwood House is a beautiful place and I have been made to feel so welcome from my very first day. The staff and care are both excellent and there is always someone willing to help me deal with letters and other personal matters. I would strongly recommend Springwood House to anyone thinking of moving to a care home, it has certainly made me feel better knowing that someone is always there.
