Cosy bedrooms. On first arrival at the home, the staff were extremely efficient and made things personal for our mum and took care in labelling clothes and welcoming us and mum. The staff always make us welcome and spend lots of time with the residents. Previously in 2014, we have had another family
member here and felt comfortable visiting so this was an obvious choice.

My mum moved into the home just before Christmas 2018.
The time she has been there, she has settled in extremely well.
The staff are very friendly and reassuring to my mum.
My mum seems to have come out of her shell and is talking and smiling once again.
It was a difficult decision for our family
to make but we think how mum is now, it was the right decision.
She now has a quality of life and not just an existence.

We have been very pleased with the standard of care given to Mum. She always looks clean and tidy, as does her room. Mum appears mostly happy and interacts well with staff, who always appear very caring. The home has a very homely atmosphere and is welcoming to visitors. Well done.

They interact with all residents to provide stimulating and supportive care.
They ensure all residents are treated with dignity and respect despite the challenges they face.

We knew before my mum went into care that this was a good care home. My daughter used to work here before going into full-time nursing. The care and attention the staff give to the person in care is brilliant.
A lot of the staff we know personally from when our daughter worked there. If any problems
occur, the staff approach the relatives and discuss them. I would recommend this care home to anyone.

Having viewed several care homes in the area, Brimington Care Home is way above the average. Upon arrival, the greeting was by far the best, we knew it was the one for mum.
All the staff are very caring and attentive.
My mum's room is really comfortable, however, one minor point, it is not ensuite.
Well
done to everyone, you are amazing.

I have always found Brimington Care Home welcoming and friendly from the day I was looking around for my other to live there. (Hence the reason we admitted Mum).
The staff are always pleasant and the manager is doing a great job, always there to listen to you if you have a worry.
Activities are great
too, such a variety of things to help the residents to keep occupied.
Keep up the good job.

Mum and Dad came to this home in 2016. Dad passed away in January 2018. I could not be more happy with the care they receive. It is first class. When I am away, I don't have to worry. When I visit I feel welcome. If anybody wants to contact me, do not hesitate.

My father moved to Brimington Care Home in March 2018. All the staff have made him and all the family feel at home and he settled very quickly. They always notify me if they have any concerns regarding his health and do not hesitate to contact the doctors when required. All visitors are made welcome
and the home is always vibrant. The care staff are always in the day rooms talking and interacting with residents. They treat them all with dignity and respect. They are always eager to learn more about the personal life, their likes and dislikes so they can provide person-centred care. The management team and all the staff are very helpful and approachable.

Friendly, caring staff.
Dad was very unsettled when he first arrived but the staff were very good in making him feel settled.
The home itself is clean. Activities are arranged and dad seems to be eating well which he wasn't when he was at home.

As a family, the decision to place Mum in residential care was one of the most difficult decisions we have had to make, but from the moment my brother and I stepped through the door we knew this was the right place for her. Each member of staff greeted us with a warm welcome. It is such a friendly,
welcoming place and all staff and management are fantastic. They sensitively relate to mums needs with respect and are skilled at maximising her independence. All staff and management show genuine care and concern for all of the residents. They are always approachable and nothing ever appears to be too much trouble for them. The daily activities are great as are the trips out on the minibus. Mum looks well, is happy and I know that she is in safe hands, being cared for in such an amazing, supportive and stimulating environment.

Following an illness, Mum was admitted in a severe state of delirium, which later was diagnosed as dementia.
She was treated with dignity and respect at all times and has settled very well.
When we first looked at this care home, we were very impressed by the cleanliness and the friendliness of the
staff.
We chose this care home for the staff, we loved that several generations of related staff worked here.
The standards of cleanliness continue.
There is never any unpleasant smell - it smells clean.
Mum enjoys the food, looks forward to her meals.
There is always staff in attendance and they are all very diligent and caring.

I could not be more impressed with the service provided by this care home so far. Looked at several and this was the only one who showed a genuine interest in my aunty, wanting to understand her condition and her likes/dislikes. Yes, it's not brand new and sparkly but it has a warmth we didn't find
anywhere else. My aunty is settled, was making friends with other residents in the lounge yesterday evening and seems settled already. Thank you to all the lovely staff we've encountered so far, from the lovely lady who showed us round to the manager for assessing her so quickly and to the guy who lovingly unpacked and put away all of her things last night - you have made a difficult time so much easier xx

Current Review Score: 9.5 (9.498)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.5 (9.498) out of 10 for Brimington Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.7 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.798 for Brimington Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (87 Excellents x 5) + (14 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 104 Ratings = 4.798
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.7 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Brimington Care Home is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 = 3.7
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 45 registered maximum number of service users is 9, which has been reached with 9 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
