Doesn't matter when I go could be different days or different times, the staff and care workers are always the same. Nothing is too much trouble for them or how the patients are treated. My husband is always clean and nicely dressed and I am so pleased that he has somewhere his is safe, looked after
and cared about and in a place which is very clean and welcoming.

We were relieved when Mom went into Brimington Care Home as it's only down the road from where she lived. She's still able to recognise the area when she goes out, which must be a comfort to her as she still remembers things. She's been resident there for almost a year now and seems largely settled.
She's treated with great respect and is able to maintain her dignity. Despite showing some challenging behaviour at times, she is skillfully dealt with by the staff and always returns to her cheerful self with their careful handling. They do a great job overall.

It takes a certain kind of person to care for people with such sensitive needs and there are lots of lovely people at Brimington Care Home. There is always a cup of tea offered to visitors, and the meals that come out of the kitchen look beautiful, freshly-cooked and wholesome. The activities co-ordinator is always looking for new things to stimulate the residents and she is lovely with them. Various singers and artists visit the home regularly. Great job.

My mother was a resident here for over three years. I found both management and staff to be both reliable and co-operative. Care was tailored to need and administered with professionalism and with great respect for my mother's needs. Communication was prompt and very effective. The care during my mother's
last weeks of life was nothing short of superb, and the support and help that was given to me I shall ever be thankful for. This care home may not have the nicely manicured gardens, but it does possess something far more important. A staff that show genuine care and concern for the residents. My sincere thanks goes to each one of them.

The home is very nice, the staff are caring and helpful, they fetch me prawns and do me a prawn cocktail at weekends because they know it's my weekend favourite. I love everyone who works at Brimington.

I was very happy to let my mum come here upon our first visit. There is such a light lovely friendly atmosphere compared to others we had viewed. The staff were very helpful at helping mum get a place. Although mum had a few settling in problems, they were soon helped and calmed down by staff. Mum
seems happier the longer she's here.

The staff are wonderful with my mother who is not easy to look after, but they give her everything she wants. The staff have just got Pearl specialised dementia services. I know they have worked very hard to get this. Manager's door is always open.

The consistent care, compassion and kindness shown to my husband by the staff at this home has enabled him to settle in and relax in his new surroundings. That kindness has been extended to our family - we are encouraged to visit at any time, and all our questions and concerns have been dealt with
immediately. I highly recommend Brimington care home.

Current Review Score: 9.5 (9.498)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.5 (9.498) out of 10 for Brimington Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.7 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.798 for Brimington Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (87 Excellents x 5) + (14 Goods x 4) + (2 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 104 Ratings = 4.798
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.7 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Brimington Care Home is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 = 3.7
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 45 registered maximum number of service users is 9, which has been reached with 9 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
