Brook House in the charming village of Husbands Bosworth specialises in residential care for people living with dementia and Alzheimer's and has done so for more than 20 years.

The converted farmhouse is part of a real community and provides residents with spacious living with a choice of single or shared accommodation. The home has 41 luxurious bedrooms with en-suite facilities.

The skilled and compassionate staff take great care in meeting each individual's needs, who also benefit from a wide range of services to promote wellbeing, including occupational and speech therapists and activities.

Visitor hours are unrestricted and all dietary requirements are catered for.

My sister entered Brook House in July 2022. On my first visit, I was impressed with the home and staff. Since then my sister has had excellent care. The staff are so loving and caring. Their attention to detail is outstanding. The home is well maintained, food and drink are plentiful and of a good standard.
The activities and fun days are well run. I am very satisfied with the care my sister gets at Brook House. Thanks to all the members of staff.

My husband, who had Vascular Dementia and Parkinson’s Disease, was a resident of Brook House from April 2022 until November 2022 when he passed away.
I have only praise for every aspect of Brook House, especially all of the wonderful staff and their unfailing respect, kindness and loving care, which
they gave not only to my husband but to all of our family.
The rooms are warm and cosy, cleanliness is paramount and the food is exceptional with wine available for those who like a glass with their meals.
The enrichment activities are many and varied, not only the organised events but also the impromptu ones when someone starts to sing and then all of the residents are singing - lots of fun for everyone!
My daughter and I visited other care homes and when we came away after looking around Brook House she summed it up perfectly, when she said, ‘Mum we’ve seen several ‘care homes’ but Brook House is a ‘home that cares’, and it does.

Brook House care home is a fabulous place, and I am super happy that they are looking after my mum (who has dementia). There is a real brightness about the place, which shines through from the moment you are greeted at the door with a big smile. All the facilities are excellent, the food is absolutely
gorgeous, having tried it for myself, and there is always something going on.
The most important thing I can say about Brook House is that they really care about their residents and treat them with the dignity they all deserve.
Top place and lovely team who are patient, understanding and kind.

Brook House Care Home is truly a home-from-home. On entering you are always greeted by chatter and laughter from both residents and staff. Everyone always greets you in a friendly manner and the residents always seem very content and happy. The staff take time to engage with the residents and there
are always a variety of activities and events being held. In the better weather, there are weekly trips out in the minibus. Residents are encouraged and supported to go out with their friends and family and any visitors are always made very welcome. The food served is of a very high standard and everyone really enjoys their meal times and some even enjoy a glass of wine two!
It is always a pleasure to visit for the day.

My aunt arrived just before the pandemic and stayed until her death, aged 92, in December 2022. Thank goodness she was there! She had Alzheimer's and vascular dementia, used a stoma bag and was very deaf. The care provided by Brook House was exemplary - her physical needs were met with kindness and
tact. When she was ill, the GP was contacted swiftly. My aunt relaxed, and her wonderful smile returned. She enjoyed the meals and started to put on much-needed weight. Her long-term leg ulcers disappeared. The staff are always cheerful and chatty, and the layout of the sitting room for older residents makes for a happy and busy atmosphere where no one is left out or ignored. There are lots of activities. Management and staff were always available to chat, and nothing was too much trouble. They did everything possible to make her happy and comfortable and to look after her family too. I strongly recommend Brook House to anyone looking for the very best quality of care.

My dear wife began to show signs of forgetfulness in the summer of 2019. Towards the end of that year, she was hospitalised with an unrelated condition and the doctors advised me that she had Alzheimer's. For the next two years, I looked after her at home, but she developed other issues and it became
evident that she needed professional care on a full-time basis. I considered and rejected home care and spent much time searching on care home websites for a suitable care home. I visited Brook House and liked the homely atmosphere. After an assessment from the manager my wife entered the home in October 2021. The family and I visit on a regular basis, and it's evident that we could not have chosen better. My wife, occasionally in a quiet mood, is happy and well-settled at Brook House. I'm still surprised at how cheerful, friendly and welcoming the staff are. Surprised because I'm well aware that it is not an easy job.

My mum has lived at Brook House Care Home for about six years, I looked at all local homes before making a choice. Mum has always loved it here and calls it home. The staff are warm and friendly as is the home. The food is home cooked and is lovely. There are lots of outings, visitors' entertainment,
crafts and more. Wouldn't want mum to live anywhere else.

It's a bit daunting for everyone when the time comes to need that extra care. The thing about Brook House is it is a family; the staff work extremely hard to make it a home-from-home, and they succeed. The excellent food (and odd tipple), regular activities, and fun make it a very jolly environment,
but more importantly, it is a very caring environment. Each resident is treated as an individual, and their individual needs are addressed accordingly. My mother went into Brook House from an independent living facility, she has always been a very independent person, but sadly now she can't walk and has to depend on others to help her. In Brook House, she has only to press her buzzer, day or night, and someone will pop in to help her. She is very comfortable, well cared for and happy. From my point of view, I feel I have handed over the baton to the Brook House staff as I know they will take really good care of her but completely keep me in the picture.

My mother-in-law, who has vascular dementia, came to live here in December 2022 to the present day. This is a warm, caring, homely environment in which she settled straight away. She enjoys the activities that take place here, which she is encouraged to participate in. There is a really good choice
of food from a substantial menu. What she enjoys most is the fact that she has company whenever she wants it, but can also retire at any time to the privacy of her own cosy room. This is well furnished. The staff show empathy and understanding at all times, and her needs are totally met both physically and mentally.

The staff are simply wonderful, my auntie feels very happy and extremely well cared for at Brook House Care Home. I wish for my auntie there were a few more like minded residents like my auntie as many suffer from Alzheimer's and Dementia, she's very sociable so misses chatting to people who can remember
the conversation but obviously this is nothing to do with Brook House and luckily the staff are so lovely they make up for it.

At Christmas, due to unforeseen circumstances we required emergency respite care for my Dad. Brook House Care Home were brilliant and able to accept my dad at very short notice. Brook House Care Home creates a very homely atmosphere. The staff are all very caring and accommodating and nothing is too much trouble. There is a real feeling of family. What can I say about this most amazing home? I picked this home for my mum over eighteen months ago in preparation for when she would need care and support, which she did in October 2022. Their experience, knowledge and understanding of care is second to none, their desire to go above and beyond is
unparalleled with anything else I've experienced and I've a background in assessing care and health. But above all the most essential element of what they deliver is love, care, compassion, respect, dignity, fun and safety. All staff without exception support everyone with such love and patience, they are tender, understanding and want to do their best for everyone in what can be very challenging and exhausting situations. Residents are treated like family, each resident is treated as an individual, listened to, supported as a human being with a life to live. They are surrounded by love. There are plenty of fab activities, day trips, chickens, hairdressing etc. It's clean and vibrant. I want no more than this for my mum.

Mum was attending Brook House for eight or nine months for the day, weekend, or week for us to have respite mum thought it was a hotel prior to mum going in full-time last March 2020. I cannot praise this home enough mum had vascular dementia and they were fantastic with her, sadly mum passed away Feb
2021 they treated mum with such care, love and dignity. The home was always spotless and was clean and beautifully well kept and a big thank you to you all to the cleaners, cooks, laundry, carers and management, I would recommend Brook House to anyone if you want your loved ones to be well cared for and loved then this is the home for your loved ones I cannot speak highly enough truly amazing.

I cannot praise Brook House, the fabulous manager and wonderful staff highly enough. The care, kindness and respect all the staff have given and continue to give my Dad is nothing short of excellent. The pandemic has been difficult for so many people but the staff at Brook House have been absolutely
brilliant throughout, always cheerful and exceptionally helpful. Going that extra mile for the residents and their families is what they all do naturally, nothing is ever too much trouble. Thank you so much to everyone at Brook House for the truly amazing job you all do.

Mum was in Brook House for Three and half years and can honestly say we couldn't have asked for any more from the staff at Brook House, they look after the residents like no other. The staff are very welcoming and very caring looking after all the resident's needs.
I can't recommend Brook House enough,
I would recommend them to anyone considering a loved one needing to go into a care home.

My cousin entered Brook House for full 24-hour care in 2012. I had no idea how it might turn out given that she had recently fallen and broken her hip. I should not have worried. For the next 7 years, the staff at the care home looked after her as if she were one of the family. I could not have asked
for more. I had always worried about having to seek the best way of ensuring that she had a good quality of life to look forward to despite her dementia. At every level, she was well catered for. The most satisfying element of her time at Brook House was that the dedicated and committed members of staff (mostly long-serving) unfailingly ensured that she had something to look forward to each day. Even when she became unwell.
I can't thank too much the carers who, for a number of years, became her new extended family and made her smile and laugh so much.
Thank you, again, Brook House for everything you did for her.

My aunt passed away in December 2019; having spent the last three years of her life at Brook House. In every respect, I firmly believe that it would have been hard to find a better care home for her. She was not diagnosed as a dementia sufferer, and she chose Brook House over the many others that we
looked at. It had a homely feel. Having visited her just about every day, I feel that I am in a position to truthfully assess the care she received, the accommodation and related facilities, the food and access to professional medical individuals. My aunt never suffered fools gladly, and every staff member that I came into contact with, all treated her with dignity and respect. She had some favourites of course and enjoyed a laugh. Whenever there were any medical issues or emergencies, I was always contacted and kept informed. Although she latterly ate like a sparrow, she often told people 'on the outside' that the food provided was excellent and her room was first-class.

My family and I would not hesitate to recommend Brook House. The management and staff could not be more accommodating, and frequently went out of their way to go above and beyond our expectations. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and my mum loved being there throughout her stay.

When my mother arrived at Brook House aged 98 she was a confused old woman who had given up- she felt she had lived long enough. The love and care of the staff reawakened her interest in life. She began to take an interest in food visits and activities. UTI’s were promptly treated and her confusion
diminished.
She felt loved and cared for and was rarely without a smile. She enjoyed her independence within the home and if she came to grief being adventurous with her walker she was skilfully patched up to go on her merry way again. She died aged 101 enjoying life, safe, loved and well cared for.
I never had a worry about her care. Her adventures were celebrated. Her love of the occasional Prosecco at 10 in the morning or being taken to the park in a wheelchair only to get up and go on the swings!
My heartfelt thanks to everyone at Brook House for the kisses, caresses and the small kindnesses that gave my mother a good end to her life when she died surrounded by your love and care.
