Cedar House has a Review Score of 9.8 (9.803) out of 10, based on 23 reviews in the last 2 years.
Over all time Cedar House has 70 reviews.
My mother has not been sentient or able to get out of bed for 2 years. The care she receives from all involved from the management to the nurse and staff has been caring, professional and heartwarming.
My Mother took some time to settle, especially as she joined when isolation was required due to COVID. I couldn't have asked for a more supportive team at a time that was difficult for all of us.
The home is extremely clean, well looked after, and has beautiful gardens. The maintenance team works hard to keep everything functioning and they make such a difference (including when my Mum asked one of them to ensure they cut the lawn near her room - which they did!).
Mum has been in the home for just over three months now and has settled and doing well. The staff have all welcomed her and made mum feel at home. All of my first impressions are good and I feel my mother is being well cared for. I think Cedar House has been a good choice for our mum and I am confident I could talk to them if I had any concerns.
We are highly happy with the care that my Father receives. Dad is happy at Cedar House and asked to stay permanently after his respite stay. All the staff go above and beyond.
Thank you for your kind words. All our staff appreciate the recognition of their hard work and dedication. Your support means so much to us and motivates us to continue providing the best possible care for our residents.
Having viewed a large number of care facilities for both my aunt and, previously, my father, I can confidently say this is the best I have seen and would thoroughly recommend it to anyone whose elderly loved one is in need of care. My thanks to all of the staff there.
We are very appreciative of your kind words; they mean a lot to us as we strive to provide care and love to all our residents. Our team is committed to creating a warm and supportive environment and is truly thankful when those efforts are recognised.
My relative quickly decided to become a resident during respite care eighteen months ago. Cedar House's facilities are excellent; clean and very well kept. The staff, and their kind support in a safe environment, have helped my cousin relax and enjoy life. Any medical issues have been dealt with promptly and family kept updated. No effort is spared to provide interests and activities and these are communicated to family. Access to outside space and the café are a real bonus. Cedar House is expertly managed.
We are delighted and appreciative to receive such warm praise for Cedar House, we will certainly share your comments with all our staff.
My elderly in-laws stayed there for a month after leaving hospital. I was very impressed with the friendly staff, cleanliness and facilities of the home. This is probably one of the best care homes that I have seen. I will have no hesitation to have my elderly in-laws return if or when necessary.
Thanks for the positive review, we really appreciate your comments.
Mum has been at Cedar House for about eight months, and she has been very well looked after by the staff team there. Occasionally some can be a little impatient, but they do work hard, and it can be very demanding work. The senior staff are particularly excellent, knowledgeable, caring and professional. It is very much a home - welcoming, warm, comfortable and friendly. There is always a buzz of life there, and the activities on offer are interesting and varied. I just wish Mum would join in with them more. She is always asked, but they respect her wish not to. I certainly wouldn't want my Mum anywhere else.
We are delighted you are happy with your choice of Cedar House; we all strive to make a home from home for all our residents.
We highly recommend Cedar House and really thank the manager and all her team for their care of our Mum.
Amazing! - we agree! We are so proud of Cedar House and all our staff who work so hard to care for our residents.
We continue to be very happy with the care provided to our mother by the staff at Cedar House. A marvelous range of activities and visiting groups from the community make for an interesting and interactive life. The addition of the Café has made the place even more sociable and provides a place for small groups of people to meet socially.
We put significant resources into our activities, there is a team of three coordinators, and every day there is so much going on. We believe this delivers the best quality of life for our residents and their overall happiness.
My mother was a resident at Cedar House from 2011-2017 when she died. My sister and I have always been so grateful for all the great care and attention that was given to her and others in the home. I have since become a regular volunteer taking art classes and also am I involved, on behalf of Rothley Parish Church, helping with the monthly church service for the residents. As far as I can see when I visit, the high standard of care for the residents continues.
We're so grateful to you Jean, the residents love to see you on your visits. You're one of our team!
The home is a caring community. Facilities are good and well maintained. My mother has been very happy since joining two years ago. She remarks on how friendly the staff are. She can be as independent as she wishes and does not feel at all institutionalised. There are however many organised and unorganised activities which she can and does enter into. Her only gripe is that she would like the choice of food to include more vegetarian options. Visitors are made very welcome and I am kept informed by staff about my mother’s health.
Jonathan, thank for your review. Please check with our chef, she does offer vegetarian alternatives to the regular menu.
Overall, we have been impressed with the care home and feel we can recommend it.
Thank you for the positive review. We are all so proud of Cedar House; we have a real home where everyone enjoys a relaxed and caring culture.
I am extremely impressed by the standard of care at Cedar House. My mother really enjoys being there. The staff are very caring. My mother has been there for over two years. We chose the home during the Covid restrictions and being unable to inspect it ourselves had to rely on the opinion of friends who had either had a relative there or visited a friend there. Everyone sang its praises and our experience is that their praise was well justified.
We appreciate such positive feedback; it encourages us and drives us to continue doing our best for all our residents.
Was given a nice room with a lovely view of lawn and flower borders kept immaculate.
The home was kept very clean.
Food was good.
The activity organiser good and very caring.
Enjoyed my stay and meeting many lovely people, some I've known many years.
Thank you for your kind words, it was a pleasure for us to look after you for your respite stay, all our residents and staff enjoyed your company very much.
Please come and visit us again soon.
Lisa and the team.
The care home is very well presented. The staff are very caring and go about their work with compassion and professionalism. I can't fault the management team at this time due to all the difficulties of COVID-19 they are doing their upmost to keep the residence entertained and involved and despite the stress this is causing all parties, nothing's to much trouble when we ask. A lovely setting and enviroment to place a loved one.
Management and staff have worked so hard to keep the residents safe in this difficult time. Always impressed with the care and attention when dealing with Mum, the family are very happy that she is in the best place.
I have had a credible amount of experience over the past circa 20 years with elderly relatives being resident in care/nursing home establishments, and of all those I have visited, Cedar House is superior in every respect by a substantial margin; enough said.
Excellent care and attention to detail, all staff are very attentive to my mother's needs, in very extreme and demanding times. The care home staff have been extremely good in keeping me up to date with my mother's health and needs. When struggling to reach her mobile they have been very good and offered the use of the care homes landline.
The care our mum has received from Cedar House has been ‘outstanding plus’. The staff are immensely kind and patient, they go many extra miles. Our mum loves her contact with them and they have really got to know her as a person. I love their creativity and sense of fun. We have seen our mum safe, well and relaxed, a real transformation. And the food is great! It is hard to put into words my gratitude for the quality of care that everyone at Cedar House shows. A huge thank you!
