Rare I write a review, much less a positive one, but in this instance, it's well deserved. The team from the management to the care staff at Enderby Grange genuinely care about the residents. My Mum had to move into the care home at short notice due to a rapid decline in her mobility. We were really
concerned that she would struggle to settle as she had always been very independent but the staff went above and beyond every day to make her feel safe and well cared for. The improvement we saw in her, both physically and mentally, within just a few weeks of care was amazing. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this home.

This home was recommended to us by a friend whose mother has been living at Enderby Grange for several years and is well cared for and happy there. We moved my Mum in on the 31st of March 2022. All staff have been very friendly, helpful, and always willing to explain things. Mum is being encouraged
to walk as much as possible and she has settled in well so far. The problem now is that even though they have not had a Covid-19 outbreak for the past two years, now they do. When the home can open up again for visitors, please, please, would all visitors do a lateral flow test on the day of their visit and even if negative, wear a mask! I want to be able to see my Mum. As Mum is a very new arrival, I haven't completed all the ratings but I want to say thank you to the manager and all her staff for all they do for their residents and their families.

The staff are not very welcoming and are unhelpful. They did not respond in a timely manner to residents and feel they are very much stretched and do not have enough staff. I would not recommend this home.
Reply from Tracey Fry, Admin at Enderby GrangeWe are very surprised by this review. As we have had no visitors in our home since we started our early lockdown, due to the Covid-19 safeguarding back in early March. It is common knowledge within our home, that the manager's door is always open if anybody wishes to discuss any issues. We would ask that whoever this visitor was please feel free to contact the home and speak with the manager as soon as possible. Many thanks.

I can find no fault with the care home. In fact, they have gone out of their way to help my wife and myself when I have visited.

I cannot find one fault with this home. I had to decide what home my friend of 40 years would be going in. I was lucky to get her in here. With my husband's family and mine having to go into homes I know if a home is good and this one is the best. It is spotless. The staff are helpful and friendly.
They always let us know everything that was going on with my friend's wellbeing. They couldn't do enough for us. Absolutely brilliant!

I found Enderby Grange very welcoming from the minute I was greeted by them. All the staff are very cheerful, helpful and made me feel very much at home. I can't thank you all enough. The deputy manager was really good to me and let me do some walking which I hadn't done before, the lack of physio from
hospital was terrible. If it hadn't been for her I would still be sitting in a wheelchair, she has given me so much confidence. Thank you and encouragement from everyone was excellent.

Dad has been at Enderby Grange since August 2017 and is very happy there. He is relatively mobile and is able to express his needs. His room is light and airy and he enjoys spending some time there reading and listening to music.

The home provides entertainment regularly in the afternoon (music and

exercising) the staff are caring and treat residents with respect and dignity.

My mother has been a resident for four months so I have no comments to make about the usage of outside space in the summer. Overall, I am pleased with the care she receives and if I highlight an issue it is dealt with promptly. She has settled down eventually and seems quite happy to be where she is.

Having taken the difficult decision to place our mother into residential care. We are pleased with our choice of care home. The staff have been very supportive and caring to Mum at this difficult time. She is very happy and is well cared for and is enjoying the company of other residents and the entertainment
provided. We are made welcome when visiting and any concerns we have are dealt with promptly. The staff give excellent care and are friendly and approachable. We are very happy now that Mum is safe and her care needs are taken care of. Thank you all.

Current Review Score: 9.6 (9.550)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.6 (9.550) out of 10 for Enderby Grange is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.6 out of 5 from 21 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 5.0 out of 5 from 21 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.550 for Enderby Grange is calculated as follows: ( (149 Excellents x 5) + (91 Goods x 4) + (11 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 251 Ratings = 4.55
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 5 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Enderby Grange is based on 21 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 4
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 40 registered maximum number of service users is 8, which has been reached with 21 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
