Marwood Residential Home

We have found Marwood to be one of the best care homes in the county. The rooms and lounges are well set out and very homely for residents and visitors. The staff are friendly and always cheerful. Marwood is an east place to work with, we feel lucky to have been able to place mother into their care.

My 89-year-old cousin originally went into Marwood Residential Home for two weeks after a stay in hospital. He was made welcome and looked after well, so much so that he said that if he had the chance he would happily return to Marwood. A couple of weeks later he got that chance and moved in as a permanent resident. Living on his own at home he was very anxious now his anxiety has gone and his health has greatly improved. He now has company around him and all the staff are excellent with him as they are with all the residents. He enjoys the activities and the musical entertainment that they put on. If you are looking for somewhere for a loved one that is homely, friendly, and caring it's Marwood, I can not praise them enough.

My mum lived at Marwood for three years until recently passing and in all this time she has received the best of care in all respects and the staff went over and above following her recent stroke and death. I would highly recommend anyone who is thinking of placing a relative in care to look at Marwood for care as they will be very well cared for.

My aunt had a fall in November 2021, fracturing her femur. After a long stay in hospital and rehabilitation, she was unable to regain enough mobility to go back home. We had a problem - at 97, residential care was the only way forward but she didn’t want to consider residential care being part of her story. A place at Marwood was gratefully accepted whilst aiming to eventually return home. My aunt never looked back. Fantastic care, respectful and dignified support, warm companionship and a clean, safe environment helped her to settle in. She enjoyed her room and chose to spend a lot of her day there, though she had plenty of encouragement to engage in the wide range of activities available to residents. Visiting was made easy to manage with covid awareness. Staff befriended her and us with plenty of support to help us adjust to a new way of life. When she passed away, we were helped through a sad time with dignity and comfort. Such excellence at all times. Thank you.

I had heard about Marwood’s reputation a while before needing their services but I have still been amazed at the level of love and care given. The house is immaculate and Dad is being so well looked after by the highly professional and friendly staff. Very important to my Dad is food, here it’s homemade and looks delicious and the restaurant is light and airy and a great place to eat. A true home from home. I have no hesitation in recommending Marwood to anyone.

My mum has a wonderful stay here at Marwood. She was well cared for and came back extremely happy and I know she had been very stimulated by her stay. When she came home, she brought back all the things she had done in her craft sessions and couldn't praise the staff enough. When talking to the staff on the phone I found them supportive and very helpful and would definitely come again.

I recently had a window visit with a friend of the family. We spoke via the homes mobile phone, the staff were very helpful with my friend. Whilst visiting I saw that there were activities going on which looked very interesting and very stimulating for the residents. They all looked extremely happy. The cleanliness of the home looked fabulous. Also lots of staff around.

We were very impressed by the thoughtful, caring nature of all staff. We were always greeted with cheerful efficiency and we quickly formed an impression that nothing was too much trouble. Communication was excellent and thorough. This is an excellent care home, which we would definitely recommend.

I have recently visited one of my dear friends at this care home. Thankfully, the care home has been Covid free throughout the pandemic. I was happy with how the care home is looking after the residents, and the facilities are second to none.

Marwood and it's staff are excellent all round. My mother is very happy at the home and has nothing but praise for the staff and her care. It is the third home she has been in and by far the best.

This really is the best place for my mum. She is safe and well looked after and as happy as she can be. I feel she is at home here.

Visited one of my parent's friends just before Christmas, I was very impressed with the home and the staff who were all very welcoming and friendly. It was really nice to see our family friend being so well looked after. I was more than happy to leave the feedback.

Each time I visit Marwood I am made to feel very welcome by the staff. There are no set visiting times so I can pop in when I'm passing to see my friend. It has a real homely feel, is decorated nicely and always smells fresh and clean. The residents and staff are like one big family and everyone is included. There is always something gong on that the residents can join in and my friend is very happy there. She is well cared for and always talks about how good the food is.

The staff at Marwood are so caring and kind not only to the residents but their families as well. They ensure the residents are safe, well cared for and stimulated with plenty of activities. I always feel welcomed when visiting my mum.

Marwood and its staff provide a very welcoming environment for visitors and residents alike. The building is modern, bright and airy with a very homely feel to it. It's always clean and tidy, no matter when I visit. The staff are friendly and approachable and treat my sister with respect and dignity. It's very reassuring to see my sister so settled - she couldn't be cared for any better. Since moving to Marwood, she has made new friends and enjoys taking part in the many organised group activities.

My aunt has been here since July 2019. The home is exceptionally clean to a high standard and is well maintained and decorated. My aunt has settled really well and is very happy. She is always clean, her skin is in excellent condition and she has put weight on. She gets on with other residents and the staff are great. My family couldn't be happier.

Our Mum has been in Marwood approximately 3 years, the care has been very satisfactory. If we were to find one negative comment, the laundry department could be more efficient in returning the correct clothing, this is nothing in comparison to the care and support provided. If we have ever to sort any issues for Mum the management have already acted promptly to resolve the situation. We like the inclusion to attend regular home meetings, more activities to be arranged.
