Thurncourt is situated in a quiet residential area. Residents benefit greatly from staying in such a well-placed location with many local shops and amenities just a short walk away. The home's location enables residents to maintain independence and enjoy being part of the local community if they so wish.

The Home has two lounges, light and modern dining room and bathrooms designed for easy access. Car parking facilities for visiting family and friends as well as a large surrounding garden for residents to enjoy. Regular supervised entertainment and activities either as a group or on a one-to-one basis if needed.

This care home is very well run by management and staff. My Mum came here for a 6-week stay after coming out of hospital, but there was no room for her to stay permanently, which both Mum and I were disappointed about because Mum had settled and everyone was lovely. Thankfully, a room did become available
so Mum stayed. This was February 2020, just before covid, so I felt so lucky as it was upsetting that I couldn't see Mum but I knew she was comfortable, happy and well looked after. I was very happy with how they dealt with things through covid. Two and a half years ago, my mum came here and we don't have a bad word to say about it. Going on our experience, I would highly recommend Thurncourt care home.

I can not give this care home and all staff enough praise and thanks. There care and love not only for residents but for their families as well. My grandma sadly passed away in there last year after a very long stay. Her care was amazing we couldn't have asked for more from them, her end-of-life care
couldn't have been any better if they tried. My uncle has been in there quite a while now and has nothing but good to say about all staff. He is treated with respect, love and care by all. I would not hesitate to recommend Thurn Court to anyone and I'd even go in there myself. The food is very good with brilliant options. The place is always clean.

My mother was placed at Thurn Court residential home in Thurnby Lodge on a therapy lead placement after falling in March 2022 and fracturing her left hip and wrist. From the offset all staff were polite, friendly, professional, kind and helpful. Mum was treated with respect and encouraged to join in
and interact. Her room was clean, pleasant and comfy.

The staff at Thurn Court Care Home go above and beyond to care for their residents. The staff are very friendly and consistently check on the residents and their well-being. They provide them with a range of food and snacks throughout the day as well as extra activities and entertainment. My grandma
was even taken to the local circus which she thoroughly enjoyed. Despite the hard last two years, the staff remain in high spirits and aim to build relationships with the residents. Standards of safety were kept very high throughout the pandemic. The Facebook page is nice to see pictures of the residents and the activities they get up to - it would be great if this was more regularly updated. A communication newsletter/email would also be a great addition.

Thurn Court cared for my mother with dignity and thoughtfulness during the period of time she resided there. The staff always contacted me and kept me informed of my mother's health and wellbeing. After a traumatic illness in hospital Mum went into Thurn Court Care Home for respite care four months ago, and she decided to stay there permanently. She said she felt safe there.
Mum died recently at Thurn Court after her long term medical conditions gradually got worse. Throughout the time she stayed
at Thurn Court the care that Mum received was exceptional. Every member of staff that I came into contact with was so caring as well as skilled and knowledgeable. They always went the extra mile for Mum's comfort and wellbeing - there are so many examples I could give of this.
I feel so fortunate that my mum was cared for so wonderfully at the end of her life, and in these challenging times when everyone's life is touched by Covid, it meant so much.

My mum has been at Thurn Court for 2 years and is well looked after. I know most of the carers by name and appreciate the time and care they provide. Despite the difficulties and challenges we have all faced since Covid the home are doing an AMAZING job of keeping the residents safe and well, and for
this they need to be recognised. I miss my mum terribly and even though I can't hug her I call on a regular basis, wave at the window and I get an update on how things are going. The carers here are great, they all take the time to get to know everybody on an individual basis and they genuinely CARE which I am so grateful for.

My husband has been in Thurn Court for 18 months now. My family and I have no complaints it is a lovely home, everything is so nice and homely. The food is good and the staff are really nice, they really care for the residents. Any events come up such as Valentines Day/Christmas Day etc. I went last
Sunday and there were flowers on the tables, little things mean a lot. Thank you.

I’ve got my mom in temporary care for two months and am very pleased with everything. The kindness and patience of the staff meet all the requirements. I’ve dealt more with one brilliant member of staff during my visits, but I can bet that all the others reach the same high standard. Mom praises everyone
and sends all the best wishes to them. She just can’t find enough words to thank them for the wonderful care.

The building is small for many residents and some of the bedrooms are not en-suite. There is a high standard of cleanliness. There are activities but the residents do not have to take part if that is what they prefer. I have not experienced the meals. I think it is the staff that make for a good home.
They are cheerful and welcoming to visitors and treat the residents with dignity, care and compassion which is what matters. Despite many disabilities, there is a happy atmosphere.

The care staff and management are very caring, helpful and friendly. They are also very approachable. We are happy that Dad is well looked after. The home is clean and there is always clean linen and towels available.

My mum recently went to Thurn Court for respite and we have now decided she will stay permanently. The management has been extremely supportive. Throughout this time, they have been open and honest with me and mum and dealt with any concerns in a caring and timely manner. All staff we have encountered
are thoughtful and caring and seem happy in their work. We have a new room which is fab! Mum eats all the food and especially keen on the puddings. I understand the activities are a work in progress - but the young man in charge of this is extremely enthusiastic and keen to succeed.

The only complaint my wife and I have is getting auntie's clothes back when being taken to be washed. I have taken the trouble to have labels done with her full name on and she still ends up with other people's clothes. I have complained to the office and we have another auntie who will be going there
soon so I am hoping the laundry problem will be settled by then.

Our friend has been a resident at Thurn Court for a number of years, and when we have visited, we have always been impressed by the care and attention supplied by all the staff, making a very difficult job appear to be easier than it is.
They always go to a lot of trouble for special occasions which
the residents appear to enjoy. I know from personal experience how hard it is to place a family member in care, but I would be happy to do so from what I see at Thurn Court.
