The Laurels Residential Care Home

My mum was at the Laurels for 3 years and she was very happy there,the staff was amazing truly caring for my mum. My mum was always smiling, her room was perfect, she always enjoyed the food and the entertainment.

My parents have been a double room her for the last 2 years and I wouldnt want them to be anywhere else. After a bad experience with live in full time care in their own home, I was very apprehensive about the move, however the staff treat them and our family like family, the girls make this home from home. I cant recommend The Laurels highly enough.

The main thing is that we know mum is safe, well looked after, and happy!

Care isn't fully council-funded, but it's reassuring to know she's so well looked after. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

My partner Clare's mum is at the Laurels and each time I visit it feels that the residents are well looked after. The staff are always polite and helpful. I would recommend the Laurels for your loved ones.

Whenever we've had any concerns, they have always been dealt with quickly and professionally.

Dad has had some low level health issues that have been dealt with with both professionalism and kindness. I am particularly grateful for this as his cognition is beginning to decline and he would not be able to proactively prioritise his health.

I cannot thank the home enough.

My mother stayed at the care home. During her stay until her death she was looked after really well and cared for excellently by the staff. Our family were impressed by everyone who cared for her and we were kept up to date with everything. This is a lovely friendly environment and I would recommend this care home to anyone who is considering placing members of family who may need full time care

The Laurels is a very welcoming of comfortable care home. The carers are an excellent + treat the residents with the utmost respect + affection at all times. They are really caring + if any of the residents are unsure or worried about anything they will sit with them and talk to them to reassure that they are safe and well. When the 'sing a longs' get going it is lovely to see everybody singing along and enjoying themselves. I would recomend The Laurels to anyone. They put the word care in carers.

My dad has been in the Laurals Care home for 8 months. He was very apprehensive when he first became a resident, but quickly got into a routine and felt very happy with life. He fell ill late last year and the team/staff understood his needs and know exactly how to get him on the road to recovery. I can't thank the team enough for everything you do.

I gave a 5 star review for The Laurels whilst they were caring for my mum. This review concerns their end of life care. Mum has now passed away. I will be forever grateful for the love and care all the staff showed/gave to mum and the support given to me. Everyone there is so kind and it gave me great comfort to feel that mum was amongst friends during her final days. Huge thank you to you all

We are so grateful to the fantastic team at The Laurels for their loving care of my father-in-law following a horrid stint in hospital over Christmas. When he first arrived, he was struggling to get out of bed and had no motivation to get dressed and leave his room. By the end of his time at The Laurels, the team had managed to rehabilitate him to the point where he was able to walk with his frame, join for meals and enjoyed looking smart! They worked wonders and were absolute saviours to us and our family. We will forever to be in their debt! Thank you.

I cannot speak highly enough of the manager and her team at The Laurels.

My mum was diagnosed with a life-threatening cancer in early April and the manager helped us to facilitate a protracted discharge from Peterbough City Hospital to The Laurels.

The manager even visited mum in hospital a couple of times to make her feel comfortable, which was very helpful as mum had previously been pretty resistant to going into care, despite her condition.

The team made her feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble for them. Regular check in visits to her room. Endless cups of tea and biscuits for visitors. And lots of support and understanding for a situation that was changing almost daily. As it turned out, my mum lasted less than a fortnight before she died, but the staff were there for her until the end.

I would have no hesitation in recommending friends or family to use The Laurels.

When my father became unwell and realised he'd need care, he told us he'd like The Laurels to look after him. From our first approach to the manager, to enquire about availability, our experience was one of reassurance, care and professionalism. Nothing was too much trouble and despite NHS difficulties in arranging a transfer from hospital to The Laurels, everything was accommodated calmly and without fuss. Once my father arrived, we could immediately see the care, compassion and diligence of the whole team - not just for him but for all of the residents. The way they go about their work is wonderful, we can never thank them enough for that. Although my father was only with them a short time, we felt that the team at The Laurels really got to know him and made him feel comfortable and welcome, and it was lovely to hear them occasionally laughing together - like any family members would. Many of my memories of Dad's stay at The Laurels will forever be happy ones.

The staff and management take care of all residents to a very high standard. Nothing is too much trouble. Also very knowledgeable in medication which saw someone go from a very bad state to a happy individual in the space of 6 months. Management are always there to help and advise.

I chose The Laurels because I was looking for a smaller setting for my father, I could not recommend The Laurels more, it really gives a home-from-home feel and the staff are so caring and welcoming. The manager came to visit my Dad before he went in and she really got to know my Dad and what makes him happy. My dad was 100 when he passed away and I'm so happy his last days were spent with his Laurels family.
