My brother has recently moved in to Florence House. He has continued to make good progress in his personal care which had not been the case before. The staff have been fantastic in seeing to his needs and taking him for walks in the nearby park. He is eating and sleeping well and enjoying the company
of the other residents - he joins in their activities. Overall excellent care.

I gave a 5 star review for The Laurels whilst they were caring for my mum. This review concerns their end of life care. Mum has now passed away. I will be forever grateful for the love and care all the staff showed/gave to mum and the support given to me. Everyone there is so kind and it gave me great
comfort to feel that mum was amongst friends during her final days. Huge thank you to you all

My aunt spent 2 weeks in Florence House for respite care. I was very pleased with the level of care she received whist there. The staff were extremely caring and compassionate, making her feel very welcome from the outset. The place is very clean and well maintained with a bright and airy feel about
it. The large garden provides a good outdoor facility during nice weather. The food looked to be nutritious and well presented, and the residents seemed very happy. The rooms are exceptionally clean and homely, with plenty of space. The lounge and dining areas are also spacious and nicely decorated again giving a homely feel. Overall my aunt had a very positive stay and is looking forward to a return visit in September.

Mum went to Florence House for respite after a hospital stint but loved it so much she has decided to stay. The home is just like a home. All the residents are very chatty and they have a very lively activities lady who does a lot for the residents . The manager came to see my Mum in hospital as she
was very anxious before going in but now she says it's was the best decision she ever made. Would definitely recommend Florence House to anyone.

My family and I had a great experience with Florence House Care Home. They looked after my aunty very well, ensuring they were completely comfortable and happy. All the staff were extremely caring and compassionate to their needs. I would certainly recommend Florence House to any other family members,
friends or associates for the purposes of an elderly care home service.

We are so grateful to the fantastic team at The Laurels for their loving care of my father-in-law following a horrid stint in hospital over Christmas. When he first arrived, he was struggling to get out of bed and had no motivation to get dressed and leave his room. By the end of his time at The Laurels,
the team had managed to rehabilitate him to the point where he was able to walk with his frame, join for meals and enjoyed looking smart! They worked wonders and were absolute saviours to us and our family. We will forever to be in their debt! Thank you.

I cannot speak highly enough of the manager and her team at The Laurels.

My mum was diagnosed with a life-threatening cancer in early April and the manager helped us to facilitate a protracted discharge from Peterbough City Hospital to The Laurels.

The manager even visited mum in hospital a

couple of times to make her feel comfortable, which was very helpful as mum had previously been pretty resistant to going into care, despite her condition.

The team made her feel very welcome and nothing was too much trouble for them. Regular check in visits to her room. Endless cups of tea and biscuits for visitors. And lots of support and understanding for a situation that was changing almost daily. As it turned out, my mum lasted less than a fortnight before she died, but the staff were there for her until the end.

I would have no hesitation in recommending friends or family to use The Laurels.

Mum moved to Florence House after failing to settle at a much larger, more modern home. She initially struggled with the move. I was very impressed with how quickly the manager was able to get mum the necessary medical help. This enabled mum to finally get a dementia diagnosis, instead of having to
wait months for the memory clinic. She is now receiving the correct treatment. We have found the staff caring and very hard working. It is a small, welcoming home. Communication is pretty good, something we struggled with at the last home.
I know mum may never settle completely, but I now feel much more confident that she is well looked after and that if I have any concerns, they will be acted upon immediately.

The Laurels has been a total godsend to us! After suffering a nasty fall at home, my mum went into the home for 2 weeks respite care. She has now decided that she likes it so much that she doesn't want to go home (which she couldn't manage anyway) The management are fantastic, caring and supportive
in every way, and this comes down to all the carers, who are always there for mum. The Laurels is a small, friendly home, mum describes it as cosy! The food is good, but most importantly I can relax, knowing that she is happy, and very well cared for.

Mum is very content and comfortable at Florence house. Despite her dementia, she is happy in her surroundings. She has put on substantial weight in the last 2 years while at Florence House Care Home. She is content with the familiarity of sitting with the same ladies.

My mother went into Florence House in May 2024. I had already been told great things about Florence House which is why I chose to look around for my mum.
The care home has a lovely warm atmosphere. The lounge area is very homely.
The staff are very friendly and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble.
I asked my Mum, have I done the right thing in choosing Florence House for you? She said definitely! She has a lovely room that is always clean, which she can go to at any time if she wants to, but mum spends most of her time in the lounge with the other residents. I have peace of mind that my mum has around-the-clock care. Would I recommend Florence House to anyone else? Yes, I would!

When my father became unwell and realised he'd need care, he told us he'd like The Laurels to look after him. From our first approach to the manager, to enquire about availability, our experience was one of reassurance, care and professionalism. Nothing was too much trouble and despite NHS difficulties
in arranging a transfer from hospital to The Laurels, everything was accommodated calmly and without fuss. Once my father arrived, we could immediately see the care, compassion and diligence of the whole team - not just for him but for all of the residents. The way they go about their work is wonderful, we can never thank them enough for that. Although my father was only with them a short time, we felt that the team at The Laurels really got to know him and made him feel comfortable and welcome, and it was lovely to hear them occasionally laughing together - like any family members would. Many of my memories of Dad's stay at The Laurels will forever be happy ones.

My family have found Florence House to be outstandingly caring and personal in their approach as they care for my frail 89-year-old mother who has dementia.
The home is small enough to feel like a family and the environment is homely, relaxed and spotlessly clean. I find the manager to be a deeply
caring and sensitive person who understands that inside each elderly and unwell person is an individual who still wants recognition for who they were/are.
The staff are cheerful, helpful, friendly and very flexible, and also very capable and knowledgeable in a care context.
There is an attractive enclosed garden.
The home has a good relationship with a local GP practice which means that any medical care is delivered promptly and appropriately.
It was a huge decision to introduce my mother to care and I researched carefully what would be best for her and her vascular dementia. Small, personal, caring and responsive was what I wanted and Florence House has delivered this exceptionally

The staff and management take care of all residents to a very high standard. Nothing is too much trouble. Also very knowledgeable in medication which saw someone go from a very bad state to a happy individual in the space of 6 months. Management are always there to help and advise.

I chose The Laurels because I was looking for a smaller setting for my father, I could not recommend The Laurels more, it really gives a home-from-home feel and the staff are so caring and welcoming. The manager came to visit my Dad before he went in and she really got to know my Dad and what makes
him happy. My dad was 100 when he passed away and I'm so happy his last days were spent with his Laurels family.

My mum was a regular resident of The Laurels, her first stay being in April 2023. Despite her reluctance to go she ended up being a regular resident for respite and in between some weeks made daily visits there. They made her feel so welcome at all times and took great care of her. In January 2024 my
mum went again to The Laurels for respite following a bout of illness and hospital stay. Unfortunately she sadly passed away on 28 January whilst there. I cannot thank the staff enough for the care and love they showed to my mum in her final weeks, days and hours. That care and love extended to her family at a very sad time. The management and staff are amazing - their prime focus is ensuring their residents are safe happy and well looked after. I would not hesitate in recommending them as a facility for any person needing residential care.

My mother was a resident at The Laurels until her death in May 2024, to say she enjoyed her residency is an understatement. The facilities, and care were exceptional, the staff couldn't do enough for everyone and they are a major contributor to the overall well-being of all of the residents. I would
not hesitate in highly recommending anyone looking for a care home to visit The Laurels and see for themselves what a great place it is!

My parents' needs changed and it was apparent that full-time care was required for both. My dad has mobility issues and my mother has dementia. We found The Laurels through a referral from a close friend and are so glad we did. My parents are safe, well cared for, stimulated and very happy. Most importantly,
they are together. The staff at The Laurels treat my parents like their own. Lovingly and with such care. The senior management, keep me informed of any concerns and additional needs. The manager has selected the best team and they have done an amazing job in creating a relaxed and safe environment. Now I can visit my parents to see them and enjoy their latter years without worrying about them during the night. I honestly cannot thank them all enough for everything they do for my parents. I would highly recommend The Laurels as one of the best residential care homes for those who want a family feel for their loved ones.
