Florence House Care Home

Mum has been a resident at Florence House since November 2025 and I am so pleased with her care. She is very well looked after and has settled in well. She looks bright and cheerful and clearly enjoys the food! Often, residents are taken out to local amenities and the garden there is mature and suitable for residents to enjoy. The staff are very friendly and attentive to both Mum and the family when we visit, which can be anytime - no appointments needed! I feel that Florence House is well led and managed and we have no concerns. Overall we are all very happy that we chose Florence House for Mum. Thank you!

My Mum has been at Florence House for just over a year, her health has improved considerably due to the brilliant care given and being such a small home. Staff turnover is extremely low and there is always a friendly face at the door to welcome us and we really enjoy chatting to the staff and residents when we are there. I would recommend Florene House to everyone.

Immaculately clean care home. My mother has been a resident for nearly 3 years. The staff are lovely, the food is excellent. She receives excellent care and nothing is too much trouble. I am always contacted if there are any issues. Would recommend.

Mum has been so well cared for at Florence House. Mum told me that she feels safe. I visit often and I have never seen anything to give me cause for concern. The staff are so kind and she gets the support and encouragement that she needs.

My brother has recently moved in to Florence House. He has continued to make good progress in his personal care which had not been the case before. The staff have been fantastic in seeing to his needs and taking him for walks in the nearby park. He is eating and sleeping well and enjoying the company of the other residents - he joins in their activities. Overall excellent care.

My aunt spent 2 weeks in Florence House for respite care. I was very pleased with the level of care she received whist there. The staff were extremely caring and compassionate, making her feel very welcome from the outset. The place is very clean and well maintained with a bright and airy feel about it. The large garden provides a good outdoor facility during nice weather. The food looked to be nutritious and well presented, and the residents seemed very happy. The rooms are exceptionally clean and homely, with plenty of space. The lounge and dining areas are also spacious and nicely decorated again giving a homely feel. Overall my aunt had a very positive stay and is looking forward to a return visit in September.

Mum went to Florence House for respite after a hospital stint but loved it so much she has decided to stay. The home is just like a home. All the residents are very chatty and they have a very lively activities lady who does a lot for the residents . The manager came to see my Mum in hospital as she was very anxious before going in but now she says it's was the best decision she ever made. Would definitely recommend Florence House to anyone.

My family and I had a great experience with Florence House Care Home. They looked after my aunty very well, ensuring they were completely comfortable and happy. All the staff were extremely caring and compassionate to their needs. I would certainly recommend Florence House to any other family members, friends or associates for the purposes of an elderly care home service.

I know mum may never settle completely, but I now feel much more confident that she is well looked after and that if I have any concerns, they will be acted upon immediately.

Mum is very content and comfortable at Florence house. Despite her dementia, she is happy in her surroundings. She has put on substantial weight in the last 2 years while at Florence House Care Home. She is content with the familiarity of sitting with the same ladies.

It was a huge decision to introduce my mother to care and I researched carefully what would be best for her and her vascular dementia. Small, personal, caring and responsive was what I wanted and Florence House has delivered this exceptionally

The staff are great and always have a laugh when I visit which is generally three times a week. Any concerns I talk to the manager and they get sorted. Home is always spotless, with no complaints and no regrets about mum being a resident.

My uncle has settled very well and is quite content, he likes the staff, the Sunday services and the food (he has a good appetite). He also enjoys visits from the family who are always made very welcome by the staff. We all feel it was a good decision that he moved into Florence House.

From the moment my ninety-two year old dad moved into Florence House he was made to feel welcome and all staff made an effort to get to know and help him understand things that he found difficult due to his dementia and the recent loss of his wife. When he had a stroke they acted quickly and professionally, getting him the medical care he needed so that he was transferred to hospital within an hour. As a family we were welcomed whatever time we visited and also felt like part of the Florence House family. I would recommend this home to anyone.

Florence House is small and friendly with a homely atmosphere. There is a strong Christian presence that is valued greatly by residents, their families and friends. Staff are caring and understanding and well-behaved dogs are welcome to visit providing comfort to residents. The staff carefully accommodate residents' individual needs and preferences and everyone is made to feel valued and special.

My 97-year-old mum moved into Florence House in October, following a stroke, after living completely independently. She was very reluctant to accept that she could not live in her own home anymore, but the staff and particularly the manager, made her feel so welcome and cared for, that she settled into her new home quickly. All of the staff are very caring and there is a true family feel to the home.

Since moving to Florence House, mum's mobility and her general well being have improved considerably, mainly down to the ethos of the home being one of maximising resident's potential. Mum is a very sociable person and loves spending time talking to other residents and reminiscing about their lives. I am reassured that mum is safe and loved and would certainly recommend this home to anyone looking for care for a relative.
