Florence House was taken over by new management in 2022. The same mother and daughter team run a very small 9 bedded care home in Glinton, called Garden Lodge and The Laurels in Market Deeping.

They believe that it is small care homes like Garden Lodge and Florence House that are able to provide the best person-centred care, really making sure that the residents feel a sense of importance in the home and building strong relationships with other residents and staff. Florence House is an extremely sociable home with lots of positive energy. The home has maintained it's Christian ethos and has many volunteers coming in to do services and spend time with the residents.

My mother was a resident at Florence House for just over 3 years. She always talked about how the staff were her 2nd family. She was always so happy there and the staff so caring towards her and all other residents. The Christian ethos of the home was evident to see. Mum especially enjoyed the baking
and gardening times, also the monthly church services and singing that was provided by a local church team.

My dear mother lived here from 2017-2021 and was loved and valued as part of the Florence House 'family'. Despite her Alzheimers, she was allowed to exercise freedom of choice and to pursue her desire to help others and be of use to the people around her. She was treated as an individual and the staff
who worked there loved her and treated her with respect. What more could one ask for one's beloved mother in her twilight years? There were varied, lively and stimulating activities to take part in, the home is immaculate and the home baking by the staff is amazing.

Mum became a resident at Florence House shortly before Christmas 2020 and sadly passed away a few short months later. However, the care and compassion which was afforded to Mum and all of our family over this period has been incredible. Nothing was too much trouble for the carers and we were always
made to feel welcome during our Covid-safe visits to the home. Communication between staff at the home and family members has always been professional, respectful and timely meaning that we always knew that we would be contacted if a problem or emergency arose. Regular updates and photographs were shared so that we could see what Mum had been up to! We chose Florence House for Mum due to its Christian ethos and because both Mum and Dad had spent respite periods there and been very happy and well looked after. In my professional role as a community nurse I go in and out of many care homes - Florence House is one of only a handful of homes that I would recommend to anyone. Thank you.

After being diagnosed with Alzheimer’s and Vascular Dementia in 2012, my lovely mum was cared for by Dad at home, with my support, for 5-years. We then had to make the difficult decision, for both of their sakes, to place Mum in residential care.
It was such a blessing for us to find Florence House!
Mum moved in during March 2017 and was always treated with such care and respect. She settled quickly and spent three and a half very happy and contented years there.
The staff at Florence House care about the whole well-being of each resident. Obviously, each person’s physical needs are cared for, but also their mental and emotional well-being are looked after. There is a wonderful family atmosphere in the home, which extends to the family of residents - we were always made so welcome!
Mum peacefully passed away at Florence House this year. We are so grateful to the staff for the care and support we were all shown, they made a difficult time easier - and showed how loved Mum was.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My friend's mother (for whom I hold LPA) had a weeks respite care at Florence House. I was absolutely astounded by the care and compassion of the carers and also of the other residents. I have visited many care homes and I had no idea that care of this standard was actually possible in our society.
The ethos of this home is amazing, the manager clearly has his finger on the pulse and is a very 'visible' presence in the home. Well done Florence House, my faith is restored.

I’m very pleased with the care my mum receives at Florence House. The staff were very supportive of mum and our family at the time mum moved in and continue to be so. The food is wholesome and varied to meet her dietary requirements and likes/dislikes. The staff are very caring towards mum and nothing
is too much trouble for them.

My mother has been very settled here. It is a small home, with a homely feeling and very kind staff.
Mum's room could be bigger but she does not complain. I enjoy visiting my mother. The staff are very welcoming to all visitors.

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.669)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.669) out of 10 for Florence House Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.769 for Florence House Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (81 Excellents x 5) + (22 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 104 Ratings = 4.769
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.9 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Florence House Care Home is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.9
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 20 registered maximum number of service users is 4, which has been reached with 9 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
