All staff are very approachable and friendly. The building and decor needs refreshing, brightening up.
It would be nice for a more comfortable room to be made available for visitors to chat to their relatives in private as the bedrooms are too small for this purpose.

I don't agree with the prices though, very high, especially if self-funding.

I was placed in St Michaels by NHS as a rehabilitation bed. I needed a hoist to transfer from bed to wheelchair. The care provided got me confident enough to have a hoist and an adjustable bed at home. I was very soon using a Rotunda for transfers.

My mother has been in St Michael's since February 15th 2013. At the beginning, there was a few teething problems, but over the years her care has been the best that I could ask for. Not only do they care for my mother, but also myself, if I have any worries there I have a lovely manager and her team which I can speak to. St Michael's meets my mother's needs 100%.

My mother has dementia and has been a resident of St Michael's Care Home since 2017.
On my visits, I have always found the staff approachable and friendly, with the home looking clean and tidy.
My mother is settled here, enjoys her meals and the weekly activities the home provides.

The Staff used to take my mother to another Care Home in Waddington, to visit my late father, which we really appreciated, as we do not live locally.

My dad stayed here for a few months. They saw his dementia advance very quickly. The staff were kind, considerate and offered dignity to him and us, as family. I would recommend them for caring for loved ones - not always an easy job.

My Husband was at St Michael's and received the best love and care I could wish for. It is obviously extremely hard for relatives when your partner has Dementia, but he was treated with respect, his room was always clean, the food was excellent and the carers go out of their way to look after their residents with a smile on their faces. Thanks to you all from us both.

All staff are polite and willing to help. My brother is always looking smart and clean. He always eats all his meals, which he seems to enjoy. The room he lives in is always kept neat and tidy, bins are always emptied and it never smells like some homes do.

The carers and manager are all very pleasant towards residents and relatives. There is varying degrees of people with dementia, so it is a difficult job, they all do their best under difficult circumstances. The food is very good. The care is good and the rooms are nice.

One thing I do like it the fact that whatever the residents do the staff go along with it as long as it's not harming themselves or others. There are activities and singers etc., come to the home to entertain the residents and they have outings too.

When I arrive there is always a smile and a welcome. If anything is not well I am always told straight away. The residents are well looked after with food and drink, always clean and tidy. Plenty of entertainment each week, sometimes twice.

My wife who is in the later stages of dementia has been a resident of St Michaels for the last four years. During this time I have never had a moment's concern. The manager and staff are all kind and considerate, nothing is too much trouble, problems are dealt with immediately.

I would have no hesitation in recommending St Michaels to anyone who requires this kind of care.

The team at St Micheal's looked after my dad for the last year of his life and we found them to be caring, compassionate, warm and friendly. They laughed with him, listened to what he wanted and how he wanted it done, they listened and shared in his war stories. They brought us tea and biscuits when we visited they supported us as a family right to the end. In short, they are remarkable people doing a remarkable job and I cannot recommend both the management and staff at St Micheal's highly enough.

Overall Experience

My mother was in the Care Home suffering from Alzheimer's between late 2013 and January 2017 when, sadly, she passed away. Throughout that time she was looked after with consideration and thoughtfulness by all the staff. The home always appeared to be clean and the staff attentive to all the residents from what we could see.

At the time of her death and just after we were shown complete courtesy and understanding by the staff, in particular, those in a senior position and it was clear that they had all formed something of a bond with my mother despite the nature of her illness which caused her to be very difficult and out of character at times.

The attendance at the funeral and afterwards by staff was deeply appreciated and provided an opportunity for the family to express their appreciation for a job well done.
