Stones Place

We were naturally apprehensive on moving my relative from one care home to another, especially as we did not live in the area. However, we had heard very good reports of Stones Place, which I’m pleased to say were borne out. The home has been extremely welcoming, and the staff are very pleasant and caring. The care is excellent, the rooms are spacious, and have every facility. Administration of the home has always been exceedingly efficient. We would not hesitate to recommend.

This is such a delightful place to visit. I have always seen care, kindness and thoughtfulness being with residents. I would come.

As a family, we'd like to go on record to sincerely thank all of the staff at Stones Place care home, for their prompt, courteous and professional response when my mother was taken ill at the care home earlier this week. A rapid assessment of her situation and the immediate call for paramedic assistance resulted in a quick transfer to hospital for emergency and life-saving treatment. Thankfully, she has since made a steady recovery and is now comfortably settled back into the environment which she now regards as her home and where she's safe and very well cared for. Also, thank you to all her fellow residents who have since offered their best wishes both to Mum and family members, which reflects the real sense of community that is at the heart of Stones Place.

My Dad moved to Stones Place from another care home as we were concerned about the care he was receiving. The first time I went to see Stones Place and met the manager I knew there was something very special about this care home. The residents were clearly very happy to be there and all of the staff were also very happy. The relationships between the residents and staff were like a big family looking after each other. Dad had a bad fall before he moved to Stones Place but he is now walking again. I believe this is down to the care he has received. Dad is calmer and happier than I have seen him in a long while. The efficiency of all the staff and the attention given to my Dad is just amazing. They have also been available for me during and since the move from the previous care home. I no longer have to worry about the safety and care of my Dad. A very big thank you from both of us to all staff. You are all amazing.

I have visited an elderly resident for over 10 years and I have nothing but the highest praise for the staff of Stones Place. Their patience, compassion and professionalism is second to none.

Clean, well-kept premises. Friendly, welcoming staff that are always keen to help. Good choice of food which is well cooked. Treats to look forward like visits to the seaside. Ample activities to keep residents busy.

We are so glad that our aunt chose this care home, where she lived happily for more than 3 years. Dignity, respect, and 'unfailingly kind' were her main reasons. This she received throughout with the care adapting to her changing needs. The staff are exceptional; always kind, friendly and respectful, with endless patience. Nothing is too much trouble. Residents are all treated individually, and have personal relationships with all staff, including catering and maintenance, adding to the homely feeling. Communication with us, living at some distance, was always good and we were welcomed at all times, even when they were busy. We will miss calling in and the homemade meals, which were excellent! Everything was superb, but I wish I could give double stars for the staff.

Stones Place is outstanding. The staff I have dealt with from the start have been professional and caring, they make residents and visitors feel welcome. They provide an excellent balance of support and care with respect for individual preferences. The home provides a high quality environment with nicely decorated rooms and pleasant gardens.

This is a well managed residential home, with a friendly, caring atmosphere and if it is necessary I would choose to come here myself. There is help given in settling in with many activities if one wishes but privacy if desired. Visitors are made very welcome and it is pleasant to sit outside in the garden.

My mum went into Stones Place following a four-week stay in hospital. Staff at the home couldn't have been more welcoming or helpful and it was so nice to see her comfortable after our experiences of the previous weeks. When Mum first arrived, we were unsure of her next steps (going home, sheltered accommodation or staying where she was) and in the end, she moved on to another care home which was better able to meet her needs, but the staff were at our side every step of the way in supporting that difficult decision. Mum was with them for only three weeks but in that time she blossomed, regained her confidence and was ready for that next move. I really can't recommend Stones Place highly enough.

My friends have reported excellent care and in the last month particularly I have heard how good the food is and how varied the activities offered are. I understand the carers have made every effort to provide solutions for the residents' individual problems and needs.

I cannot praise Stones Place enough. My mother has been a resident for 2 years and I am confident she couldn't be in a more loving and supportive environment. The meals are first class, I visit regularly for lunch with my mum and I find the experience more like taking her to a restaurant than eating in a care home. Attention to detail is evident in all areas of the home. Thank you to all the amazing, caring and loving staff at Stones Place.

Having worked at Stones Place as a volunteer for almost 20 years, I am temporarily receiving care after breaking my hip. The genuine consideration and care by all staff members is exceptional. Food and comfort first class. Hope to soon get back to volunteering here. It will be a pleasure.

Another member of staff went with her to hospital and stayed to bring her back home, Mum says she could not have been better looked after and we were very grateful for them going the extra mile in our absence. My stay at Stones Place in July this year (2018) was most satisfactory. The staff were helpful, encouraging and supportive. My stay at Stones Place is helping my overall recovery from a hip replacement. I am keeping in touch with the staff and residents through the knit and knatter group.

An atmosphere of peaceful calm greets you as soon as you enter Stones Place. This loving welcome, the kindliness of staff and friendliness of residents have all contributed to my mother's transition from our home to her making Stones Place her new home. We have been impressed by the commitment to meeting her needs as an individual within a Christian context.
