In the past few years, we have dealt with a few care homes. Sandpiper is by far the best. The manager and staff are absolutely amazing. The room is clean and tidy and smells nice. My mum loves the food. I would recommend Sandpiper to anyone.

My friend has been in Sandpiper Care Home (Tanglewood) since before Christmas, and I try to visit as often as I can. On each visit, I have been impressed with the cleanliness and decor of the home. The staff are always friendly and helpful and treat the residents with respect and dignity. Even though my friend has dementia, she always tells me how helpful the staff are and that nothing is too much trouble for them.

After contacting numerous homes whilst looking for dementia care for our dad, Sandpiper was the first we visited. No need to look any further, and within a week, our dad moved into his new home! He's happily been there for around 18 months now.
The absolute best thing there are the staff, all of them! Always a welcoming smile and happy to help. Management is incredibly honest, open and approachable. They're the ones that give us peace of mind our dad's in a safe, secure environment, where he's well looked after.
The home itself is very well maintained, always clean, bright and welcoming. There's a lovely spacious garden as a plus point too, during the summer months.
Food always looks good, along with drinks and snacks, which nicely break up the day.

Highly recommended to anyone facing the decision of choosing a new home for a loved one!

Wonderful afternoon tea was provided by the brilliant chef and member of the activities team on Mother's Dat - a very special time to add to my memories.

Every occasion is always made very special by all the wonderful caring staff. I feel so relaxed and contented knowing that my mum is being cared for in a "home from home" atmosphere here at Snadpiper. Thank you to all the hard-working staff.

Organising to put my dad into care for a week of respite was a big decision to make. It made me question whether I was doing the right thing, feeling guilty, how would he settle in, whether would he be looked after and the myriad of emotions to go with it.
Upon contacting Sandpiper, I was blown away by their understanding, empathetic and highly professional staff.
The management team were exceptional, and I instantly felt at ease.

I knew I'd made the right decision for Dad and my family, and we will definitely be utilising their services again.

Large reception and dining rooms - a modern and clean feel about them.
Regular staff helpful - brilliant - thank you.
Good menu and food.
Management is sympathetic and deals with issues raised (eventually worked).
Jobs take ages to get done (lack of staff!).
Lack of storage for a spare wheelchair/foot pump!
Clothes go missing in the laundry - a nightmare,

Do not understand the room supplement and pricing structure!

I have been going to Sandpiper Care Home now for over three years and have found the staff really helpful and attentive to my mum and her needs. The home is always clean and warm. The meals that I have seen have been good and appetizing. I had a lovely meal with mum for Valentine's Day and the room was decorated for the occasion.

Absolutely first class! Everything about Sandpiper is truly amazing! The atmosphere, surroundings etc are more like a first-class hotel, such a happy and relaxed feel to the home. My brother was moved there to recuperate after almost 4-weeks in the hospital before then going back home 5-months later. The level of service provided by the manager and all her staff was second to none. Nothing was ever too much trouble, whatever time of day or night he needed them. The manager and her staff always ensured we were kept informed on his progress, and always made time to discuss this with us. Everywhere is kept spotlessly fresh and clean. The meals and homemade cakes looked delicious, which my bother confirmed they truly were. There is a large garden, which is well-tended with beautiful plants and flowers, a well-manicured lawn with plenty of outdoor seating. I would have absolutely no hesitation in recommending Sandpiper to anyone looking for a care home for a loved one.

Excellent staff, very friendly, that’s the first thing you notice when you first visit Sandpiper. It’s such a friendly atmosphere and most of the residents that I have spoken to feel the same. My friend, who is also my next-door neighbour, can not speak highly enough of all the staff, especially the manager - what a lovely lady. I would recommend this care home to anyone.

We found out that my mum, who has vascular dementia, had been wandering outside her home. We had to make an urgent decision to find respite care with a view to a permanent residential home to ensure her safety. After speaking to several homes in the area, I rang Sandpiper. From the very first phone call, I felt reassured and supported at a truly dreadful time. The lady I spoke to arranged for me to visit that day and for respite for mum to commence the following day. The home is beautiful and immaculately clean with an extensive well-tended garden that wraps around the property. Mum is enjoying all the choices of food. All the staff I’ve spoken to have been friendly, helpful, caring and knowledgeable. I’ve been able to phone for updates at any time. Our visits have been protective of Covid, but they have succeeded in making them as ‘normal’ as possible for Mum under the current guidelines. After 10-days of respite, we are very happy to have arranged permanent residency.

I find the staff very helpful, always there to listen if I have anything/answers about mums care and how she is; I haven’t found it easy having Mum in a home.
I have peace of mind that Mum is safe; the home and Mum are always clean; the room is cosy and spotless.

The staff have been extremely caring through the covid times, bless my mum, is not always an easy lady, but I would highly recommend the home.

I can't begin to express how much the manager and her team have gone above and beyond in the last couple of months.

My mum was put on end of life care at the beginning of December last year; the care my mum received was absolutely fantastic; the care and love shown to Mum were outstanding. Sadly Mum passed away in early January, and the support that I and my family received was a great comfort. We still continue to receive support from the manager and the senior team at Sandpiper. Keep up the great work you do every day. I would highly recommend this home.

Sandpiper is the nearest thing to a second home. The staff are all carers no matter of their position. The banter was good, which creates much fun for those that take part. Even on cold days, there's a warmth that radiates through the building giving Sandpiper a homely comfort and friendly feeling.

Sandpiper is an amazing home. My mum has been here for 14 months and the care has been excellent. My mum is at the end of her life and the care the staff give is amazing. They are very caring and have an excellent manager and deputy. The senior team are fantastic as well, all carers across both shifts have been excellent. Nothing is too much trouble for any of the staff, doesn't matter what time of day or night. Lovely gardens and rooms. They have great parties for them.

When you enter Sandpiper Care Home you immediately feel at home. The carers are always attentive and understanding. There is an abundance of empathy and compassion for both residents and their visitors. If you want to discuss anything there is always a listening ear and time made available to put your mind at rest or find a solution to a problem. Mum has been living at Sandpiper for just over 18 months and although she is mostly bed-bound now, the staff have always tried to include her in their many events and activities. Mum has swallowing difficulties due to a major stroke, so her diet is rather restricted - as it has to be of a delicate structure, but the cooks always seem to present a good variety of food for her. A great advantage for Mum has been the large patio doors in her room opening on to the well-kept garden. If there is one criticism - it is that the rooms are quite small, but that is something the staff can do nothing about. I have no doubts about recommending Sandpiper.

My aunt was a resident in Sandpiper for over two years, during which time, her needs changed. The staff were caring and adapted at all times to her changing situation. They were professional and caring, efficient but always gentle with time to talk, laugh and help. I cannot speak highly enough of Sandpiper, and the relief that my aunt was in such good hands. The home is clean and fresh and cared for. The food is excellent, especially in my aunt's case, the cooked breakfast every day. Relatives were made welcome and kept involved.

The management and staff of this home are very conscientious and caring. My mother is very content at this home and they always ensure she takes part in the activities even though her speech is not good.

They are very encouraging at all times and take the time to discuss mothers needs on a regular basis. I have no hesitation in recommending this residential home.
