Vauxhall Court

An unexpected admission to Vauxhall Court has turned out to be the best thing that could have happened for our father. I have a decades-long career in adult social care and I would not wish him to be cared for anywhere else. The manager is so invested in the wellbeing of all her residents, is always available and has so little turnover in her team - that says a lot. The team - carers and ancillary workers - all know and understand the needs of each resident and go out of their way to make things nice for each person. I know this happens on a consistent basis as I visit regularly. I am kept informed of all aspects of my father's care and although staff never sit down, nothing is ever too much trouble for them when it comes to welcoming visitors or discussing your loved ones with them. The owner assures me a financial issue I raised with him at the beginning is being dealt with and I have every faith this will soon reach an acceptable conclusion. Best care home in the area.

All good . I have no complaints. Staff are friendly and jolly and always have time for my friend and myself whenever I've needed advice/ help/ questions etc. Food is available when requestioning something different . Actually very pleased that my friend has settled so quickly and easily

My sister has been in Vauxhall Court for a year ,the home is well managed carers are pleasant and polite to visitors and residents. Standard of care given is excellent ,the feeling is that the staff really do care about the people they look after .Food is good and level of hygiene and housekeeping very good

Overall good care and support provided. Staff always friendly, facilities are clean, no concerns in that aspect. Staff are attentive and appear to be respectful. Food is adequate with varying menus and preference choice is offered at meal times. 24 hr care provided and any support needed in the night recorded. Managing staff are always on hand to talk to if requested. Would be nice if the family room was more comfortable and usable- it's very bare and uninviting and has not been encouraged to be used when visiting. There should also be an area of activities for the service users- there's no craft things, books, jigsaws, games, magazines etc. When people go into the dinning areas there is no visual stimulus etc

my partner is in this care home and one member of staff in particular goes above and beyond for all residents in her care home she has been fantastic with my partner. i would recommend this care home to any one needing support and care.

I would say she has been a handful for the staff at times but I have always found them nothing but helpful and very caring, always there for her to get her chatting and giving cuddles. Such a great team and I know if my mum was well and able she would be happy to thank you all.

I hand on heart have witnessed that "senior" carers have blatantly lied! And you're supposed to have your family in a place like this. I get told to speak to the manager, pffft nobody lets you get to her! Let alone she ever returns your call! Rude and ignorant, so I don't see why some are giving 5*s.

Having to live so far away from my family is very difficult and when my dad went into care I was concerned for his health and welfare. I worked in twenty-three nursing homes at the end of the last century and I fully understand the challenges of the industry. I know when I am seeing good or poor practices. I finally got home to see Dad and travelled to Boston with some knowledge of the genuine care the staff have as I call my dad every Sunday. I was not surprised at all to find that his room was clean and entirely fit for purpose, his clothing all in place and his treats and personal effects were carefully stowed away for security and ease of access for him to use. I read his notes carefully and observed that he gets fantastic care and attention every day regardless of his mood and his personal hygiene is attended to with dignity daily. I cannot praise the staff highly enough and will be writing to the manager about one in particular. I am at peace with my dad’s care. Thank you so much.

I cannot fault the care my father had. I don’t really want to name names but the manager, along with a couple of other staff, were genuine and very caring towards my father. Every time I visited, the hospitality was excellent. I’m so happy with how my father was looked after right until the end of his life that I am thinking of placing a family friend there. Well done Vauxhall Court Care Home! And a big thank you from the bottom of my heart.

My Nan was in Vauxhall Court for nearly five years. I can honestly say the improvement since July 2021 has been immense. With a new management team, the manager and her team the home have gone from strength to strength! During my nan's final days I cannot praise the staff enough, to allow her to die with dignity and care. Vauxhall Court is the closest you will get to a home from home. It will never be easy to put a loved one into care but rest assured Vauxhall Court staff will care and do all they can to make them happy and safe!

My father had excellent care at Vauxhall Court. His room was excellent and the staff were kind, caring and very capable. He received excellent care. The food was also very good! At the end of his life, he was treated with dignity and respect. The cleaners did an amazing job, always so helpful and thorough in their work. Even the caretaker offered us kind words and support when my father was near the end of his life. I can honestly say that I am very happy with my experience of this care home.

I have a relative at Vauxhall Court, that has been there for now three years. I can honestly say that the care that she receives is exactly what we were hoping for her, which is reassuring for me and my family. The care team at the care home are always welcoming and supportive, and every time I visit she looks well cared for. During my time at the home, I was helped by the management team. And one of the senior carers would always update me on how she was doing. I always felt comfortable when leaving her, as I knew she was in good hands. I want to thank all the care team at Vauxhall Court for supporting me and my relative.

Vauxhall Court provided outstanding care to my father over a period of 10 months, the last 10 months of his life. I cannot praise the entire team enough, from manager and assistant manager to the carers. The care was good enough to look after him from moderate dementia to end of life care after he was diagnosed with liver cancer. What a team. In an age when NHS and local authority communication is so poor, the Vauxhall Court team stepped forward and provided my dad with outstanding end of life care. They took my worries away about the need for 24/7 one to one hospice care. They provided something even better and allowed my sister and I to simply spend time with dad whilst they did the rest. I would have fought to have kept him there. I cannot praise the team enough and thank goodness care like this exists. I would recommend the overall service to anyone.
