Mom's legs are red, sore and swollen, can't remember how many times I've reported it. Asked the head carer why she is not on bed rest because she will not sit with her feet up, to which I got no reply.

Reported mums legs yet again. They were swollen scaley and bright red. Was told they are not hot so okay. Mum was finding it hard to walk. Had to put cream on myself which SHOULD be put on twice daily but not being done. Fed up of reporting it, some carers don't seem bothered or too much trouble.

My mother has now been in this Care Home for 6 months. Since being here she has been eating better and her mobility has improved. Most importantly she has thrived in the friendly and caring atmosphere. The staff and management are committed to provide a safe and happy environment.

What a lovely review to receive - thank you. At Willow Tree we want all our residents to thrive, and we work hard to make that happen. It's lovely for the staff to know their efforts are appreciated. We hope Mum continues to enjoy life at the home.

My friend came to you form the hospital having had a stroke. The first time I came to visit him at Willow Tree Care Home, I was assured that they would feed him up, get him stronger and my word have they stuck to their words. This is such a lovely place to have a loved one in your care. Each time I have visited, I see the dedication in all of your staff, nothing is too much trouble for any of them no matter what their rank. It has been an eye-opener for me, seeing how demanding this job can be and how they cope 'very well I think'. God bless you.

Mum and Dad moved into the care home together in July 2022. Dad had a fall and Mum has mild dementia. Every member of staff made Mum and Dad feel safe and comfortable from day one, offering support and reassurance as they can both be anxious at times. Nothing was too much trouble, Mum and Dad were treated with kindness, genuine fondness, respect and dignity at all times. The home manager leads from the front and was herself a huge support to Mum and Dad and when I needed a bit of support was always available to listen and reassure me. A truly wonderful group of people.

This home is the best we did for my mamma. I've never seen her so happy. I have a lot of respect for all the staff working there. Thank you for everything you have done and continue to do.

Willow Tree House is a beautiful care home. Light and airy, lovely decorations throughout. Colour coded to help residents find their way. Each bedroom is furnished beautifully and each room has its own door with a number to identify it, just like a front door. My mum has been in the home for over a year now. She settled in very well, which was quite a surprise, as she can be difficult as she has dementia. The staff are so caring for all residents and visitors. They care for their residents and their needs to the utmost. They keep them safe, well-fed (my mum has put weight on since staying there) and they entertain and joke with residents to keep up their moods. They have plenty of rooms for residents to meet up in and a lovely outside area. Due to Covid, the entertainment has stopped but prior to this, the home had very good entertainment to give everyone a good experience.

My own experience relates to poor care and vague communication and lack of detail regarding care and basic procedures being followed, in a year when in-person visits have not been allowed it has been more important than ever to have accurate and timely information provided and in this respect the care home have failed at every level and its now apparent that the problems ran far deeper than just the visible communication issues. Following complaints regarding care and communication, it then became clear that unfortunately staff members were prepared to lie about important and critical tasks and information. The latest CQC report is damning and illustrates the problems run much deeper than communication with poor care and infection control (critical in a pandemic) illustrating a massive management failure to look after residents as they should expect. While individually some staff were very good it’s clear this is down to individuals rather than any management or organizational process – avoid.

Reply from My Care, Manager at Willow Tree House

At Willow Tree House we recognise that during the Coronavirus Pandemic our usual working practices have been put under severe strain and despite our best efforts, this has resulted in a lack of efficient communication as highlighted by our latest CQC report. We would like to make clear that we have...

Prior to mum becoming a full-time resident at Willow Tree House, she was placed in two other care homes, so I feel I gained insight into the level of care provided by staff and also a perspective around the quality of facilities.
The level of care by the staff at Willow Tree House is exceptional. Our immediate impression when we arrived with Mum to look around was extremely positive. All the rooms are well maintained, and the smell was one of cleanliness. Mum has dementia and is constantly walking around; she walks around the ground floor, which is secure and safe. Staff members are present around all the building at all times. I have been present whilst the staff washed and changed mum; she can become agitated during this task. Staff are brilliant at calming mum. I have been present during meal times, food is of good quality and varied. Staff take time to support feeding. Mum isn't able to cut food so she is given meals that she can manage.

It was extremely difficult leaving mum in the care of others, and I cannot emphasize enough how well mum is cared for.

This is a clean, warm and safe care home, which has a lovely family feel. Staff work hard under difficult situations - dementia residents can be unpredictable and difficult, but staff achieve a good level of care.

Food/meals are good. I feel that the staff have taken time to understand my relative.

My mother was 93 years old in Jan. 2020 and she needs a lifting frame to move her to chairs etc. I have been impressed with the handling of her. All aspects of care have been shown to be of the highest order during the recent pandemic. Much appreciated and thank you to all concerned.

My 85 year old Mum, who has dementia, needed respite care after my Dad was admitted to hospital in Mansfield. We struck gold when we found Willow Tree. The home is fresh, clean and decorated in a contemporary style. The staff are friendly and welcoming - nothing too much trouble. They cared so well for Mum and treated her with dignity and respect. Eventually, we had to move her to a care home closer to home. However, I would unreservedly recommend Willow Tree!

I have visited regularly over the past month. I have found the place to always be clean and tidy and the staff extremely helpful.

I attended the autumn fair and supported my dad to join in the activities. It was evident that the residents enjoyed their time there actively getting involved as well as family and friends, they especially liked the entertainer who sang age-appropriate songs that the residents could sing along to and relate. to

I enjoyed my time in Willow Village. I went in for respite care because my Mum had to have a new knee. I was in for 3 weeks in total. The meals are lovely and the care staff are very good with you. They make your stay very comfortable and cant do enough for you. I would definitely go in there again if my Mum has to go in hospital again.

My mother spent two weeks respite in the care village whilst I was on holiday. The staff could not do enough for her. They made every effort to sick to mums usual routine which helped me enormously when we got her home and did not cause too much confusion. The facilities were 5 star and the staff were wonderful.

I have been visiting my brother from Scotland. I was welcomed by management and staff on several occasions I was offered drinks and sandwiches and at lunchtime, a table was set for me and my brother which was really lovely. The staff were friendly and a credit to the manager for managing a beautiful home. Well done.
