Lever Edge House is a purpose-built care home, created to best compliment a highly skilled team offering excellent residential care. This home also boasts fantastic dementia care.

Carers offer residents and their families the support they need during what many find some of the most trying times of their lives. Families are truly grateful for the personal support they receive, when faced with one of life's very difficult decisions and the team pride themselves on continuing that support to residents and their families from the moment they contact the home throughout the whole of their stay and beyond.

The approach to care is simple - look after the person and not the ailment/condition alone - Carers want to get to know their residents and their families, thus enabling them to look after the whole person and not just to concentrate on the task in hand. Staff get to know their clients, who they are, who they were and how they have come to be at the home.

I find all staff very friendly and willing to go the extra mile for the residents. The staff have great patience and empathy with the residents Just a note on my own personal view, sometimes there isn't a staff member in the living area and there would be 15 plus residents in there, same residents need
watching for specific behaviours. I do believe they are understaffed and need a staff on at times in the living area. But overall staff are awesome.

I have found generally the care of my dad has been very good. Although, there have been times when I have visited he has been unshaven and required a shower. However, when I have pointed these matters out, they have been addressed. It's been great to see my dad get involved with the activities provided
as he does need to keep active and enjoys helping out with chores so a massive thank you to the activities lady for all she does! So far my dad seems to have settled down and I thank everyone for their support!

Since mum came into Lever Edge care home with Alzheimer's, her life has been transformed! The activities, fun, joy, and life has come back into her thanks to all the care and activities she has been able to do. Thank you so much to the incredible activities and fun that you have brought into her life.
We have seen her smile and dance and have joy that we haven't seen in years.

My mum has been in the care home for 16 months. She lost her husband in March last year and because she has mixed dementia she can never remember he is no longer with us. Through this she suffers on a daily basis. If it wasn't for the carers in the home she would not cope whatsoever. She is so well
cared for we as a family could not ask for more. It's so nice to go in and visit and see how happy she is. I cannot thank the staff enough at the home and when I say home it feels like a proper home. I will be forever grateful to everyone involved in our mums care. Thank you so much xx

Staff are amazing and patient activities manny comes up with amazing ideas to entertain the residents. Birthday parties are well acknowledged with entertainments cake buffet and drinks making sure the residents have a very happy birthday. On the whole very satisfied with the home. Only grumble is laundry
things are not being returned even though names are on every mortal thing.

Mum is very settled and looked after and staff are very patient with mums moods.
Activities are brilliant and they do include mum if she's in her good mood. Im concerned with her clothes even though all have her name in (sewn in) even down to her socks they are repeatedly missing from her room. Overall
mum couldn' t be in a better care home. Well done Lever Edge.

The only problem is my mum really needs her glasses on all the time. Many times I have seen photos of her doing activities without her glasses. I arrived today to visit, she didn't have her glasses on.

I was very upset one afternoon in October and Lyndsay on my dad's unit noticed and came to check on me and was so supportive and caring. On the same visit the senior Cheryl on my dad's unit also went above and beyond to help me with an issue offering so much help and support. Can't thank them enough

My mum Has been very happy since coming to Lever Edge, she joins in a lot more than other places she has been in. All the carers are very friendly and seem to genuinely care about the residents, since coming here in sept24 my mum always seems happy she is very messy but her room and appearance is always
clean & well looked after. I can't praise the staff enough for how good they are with the residents.

I started working at Lever Edge in 2014, I worked as a carer for 9 years and when the activities coordinator job role came up last year I thought I would go for it, doing this job for the last 12 months I feel I have excelled in my confidence and thrived, I really enjoy making all the residents happy, I have a great rapport with all the residents, families, friends, and people and businesses in the community who donate some wonderful things to Lever Edge. I won Star of the Month in January for my compassion and aspiration.

I have worked at Lever Edge for 13 years, starting as a carer and working through the ranks to a senior, unit manager and 6 years in my current role as a deputy manager now, I feel I am a great support to management and all the staff.


I hold an NVQ level 5 in Leadership and management.


My greatest achievement was writing a poem during the pandemic I entered a competition and out of hundreds of entries I won. My poem was then published along with my photograph in a book called ‘Poems in a Pandemic,’ so a very proud moment!
