Bankfield Residential Home

Since my father was assessed as needing 24-hour care and moved into Bankfield, the staff have gone above and beyond to ensure that he settled in well and is well cared for. The meals are freshly cooked and varied. There are many daily activities available should the residents wish to take part. The home is clean and well-maintained. I have been, and continue to be very impressed.

I am well pleased with the care I receive.

Mostly satisfactory but most of my TV equipment cannot get picture using an aerial.

Very happy with the standard of care given to my mum. I know the last CQC visit raised concerns, but the staff really seem to be working hard to rectify and make further improvements. Mum likes the staff, her room and the food. There are lots of activities and occasional trips out. The personal touch of the staff makes a real difference to Mum and the family. Everyone is really friendly and keeps us informed about Mum's care and any health concerns. The structure of the staffing seems much more stable recently.

I've seen a massive improvement in the care, activities, approach and dedication to the well-being of residents over recent months. It was needed, but new management has made a big difference. Staff are fab! I'd still like to see more regular bathing of my mum, but the home has really improved a lot.

I consider Bankfield to be an excellent care home. With COVID-19 the staff and management have all stepped up and gone the extra mile looking after my Mum and keeping me well informed on how she is and nothing is too much trouble. When you ring for information they help me as much as they do by Mum, by keeping her safe for me.

I am overall very happy with the care home. I believe my Mum is well looked after. The staff and management are lovely, helpful, and understanding. My only complaint, if any, is I feel Mum could be stimulated more with different activities. Though I also understand that has been more difficult in recent months.

My mother and I viewed Bankfield Care home in February 2020 and she decided to move there after giving notice (one month) at her present home at the time. I took her in lockdown April 18th to Bankfield so have not seen the premises myself since. I have, due to lockdown only just seen my mother for 1 1/2 hours since then. However, based on this very little information and the telephone contact I have had with the staff, she appears very happy and looks well. It is perhaps the wrong time during the lockdown in a pandemic to do a survey. They have done an excellent job, the staff ensuring every person has been well cared for though.

My father has resided at Bankfield for the past 18 months. In my opinion, it is a well organised care home. The staff is very friendly and efficient. The overall standard is excellent and the cleanliness is to a high standard. The health and safety of the residents is a high priority and always treated with dignity. I would highly recommend Bankfield and it is certainly good value for money.

One area I’d like to see improved is activities; both for the resident with mental capacity, and those with dementia.

My Mum spent 7 months at Bankfield. She was treated with dignity, care and compassion. The staff were all friendly, supportive and caring.

My mum moved into Bankfield as a matter of urgency 2 years ago. Her dementia had become so bad she was unable to remain in her own home as she was no longer safe. I was worried sick and riddled with guilt that mum had to go into care. Bankfield have been amazing and I have nothing but praise and thanks for the genuine, loving care they have all shown my mum. Thank you Bankfield.

I cannot praise the staff highly enough, they obviously enjoy their work and this is shown in the way they treat the residents and the fact that staff turnover is extremely low, benefits the residents as they all seem to view each other as friends. The home is well equipped, extremely clean and fresh smelling.

Having activities such as board games, music, knitting etc would be much better for the residents.

I love it here, it's like living with my family. Staff and manager are all fantastic, nothing is too much trouble.

As good a care as family could give my mum! All the staff are fantastic and treat mum like their own family. I can't recommend Bankfield enough.

I felt guilty putting my mum in a care home but after looking after her for over a year, every day took its toll on me. The staff helped me to see that she is cared for and happy.
