Epworth Grange

I have been at Epworth Grange Care Home for 18 months and i am sure i could not have gone to a better home

My mum moved into Epworth Grange at the end of November 2025. She was suffering from dementia and Alzheimer's and had made the decision herself that it was the right time to move out of the family home. From the moment that she moved into Epworth Grange she was treated with love, care and dignity. Unfortunately she fell and broke her hip and the trauma from the accident and operation accelerated her dementia and physical decline. I cannot put into words how grateful I am for how well she was looked after up until the very last moment that she passed away. Every single member of staff I had any interaction with was incredible. From management to care staff; from the cleaners to the cooks. I cannot recommend Epworth Grange highly enough.

Epworth Grange was Mum's home for the last three and a half years of her life until she died this year at the age of 96. She moved into the home following a fall, and although she was then already frail, the staff were wonderful in accommodating her changing needs.

Mum's room was warm and comfortable, and kept spotlessly clean by the diligent support staff. A good choice of food was offered, along with regular cups of tea!

Great care was taken by the senior staff when administering medications. The home has close contact with a good medical practice, with an experienced and sensitive doctor frequently visiting.

Another plus for the home is the wonderful chaplaincy service provided by Fiona, and the varied social programme organised by Michaela. Adjacent to the home is a thriving Methodist church, which provides support each Sunday for any residents wanting to attend a service.

My family were very pleased with the service provided by Epworth Grange, and would strongly recommend it.

Epworth Grange is an excellent home. Fully recommend it! Mother is very happy there and the food and facilities are very good. She has been there over 3 years now and her room is great and the staff are lovely.

The staff and management have been extremely supportive to me and my family. They have really looked after my wife while she has been in care at Epworth Grange. I feel that she is in a safe and happy environment where she is; this also makes life for me a lot easier, and I can get on with my life knowing she is safe and looked after.

My mother has been at Epworth Grange for a year. I have nothing but praise for all the staff who look after her. They treat her with great patience, care and friendliness and they are always welcoming to the family when they visit. Her room and all the communal areas are clean and well maintained and there are always activities available to the residents. Any medical issues arising have been swift addressed and the staff are always happy to answer any questions. I would thoroughly recommend Epworth Grange.

Over many years of visiting members of the congregation in various care homes I have experienced a huge range in the quality of care and provision. Epworth Grange is amongst a small number of the very best homes I have been to. There is a real "feel" that staff care about the residents and it isn't just a job. It is a great relief to me to know that my sister is cared for in a safe environment. As she is the one living at Epworth Grange I asked her for her response to the questions below. I would rate it overall as excellent and would commend Epworth Grange to anyone.

The care staff at this home are wonderful. They all show a caring attitude to my father. I am informed of any problems he is having and updated if anything extra is needed. They are approachable and answer any queries or questions I have. If he needs any extra care it is provided or they discuss with me the best way forward. If I don't understand their system or anything it is explained. I cannot fault the care given to my father here. They are always considering his mental and physical well-being. Fantastic!

I highly recommend Epworth Grange. My mother has settled in really well. The staff go above and beyond to keep her well and looked after.

My mum decided to move to Epworth Grange after a fall at home impacted her mobility and confidence. Her choice was based on good reports from friends. Whilst it has been a momentous move for someone who valued her independence so highly, she has started to settle. This is largely due to the truly caring staff and the well run efficiency of Epworth Grange. She appreciates the activities though wishes there was more at weekends. Her family and friends visit frequently and can see that she is safe and well looked after.

The care home has been phenomenal and has cared for my Grandma. They put her first and ensure that she is fed, clean and safe. At no point have I or my family been unhappy with the performance and support offered by the home. I would recommend this care home to anyone who needs a place for Alzheimer's patients. I am so happy that my Grandma is there and being looked after by the wonderful staff and team. The security and support offered have improved my mental health and anxiety around my grandma due to how much support is offered.

My friend moved into Epworth Grange about 9 months ago. The transfer went smoothly and he settled in quickly. I visit weekly and my friend seems very happy there. The staff are always helpful and the home appears neat and tidy when I visit.

My only regret is ever leaving my relative in this place. They are now in a different care home and the difference between them is like night and day.

My Mum went into Epworth Grange after a fall. However, she did find it very difficult to settle at first but the staff was very supportive, not only to her but also to myself, as my Mum had been living with my husband and me before transitioning to E.G. The Chaplain there, was so helpful to us and Mum become happier and settled in making friends.

Choosing the right home for your relative is a stressful and very emotional experience. However, within minutes of meeting the team at Epworth Grange many of our fears and anxieties were soothed and from day 1 of moving in they have done nothing but exceed expectations. You're cared for as a family not just the resident. Nothing was too much trouble on moving-in day. The things you don't know about are the volunteer readers who sit in the room, the compassion that you hear from the team when providing care (even when they don't know you're there), the changes they make to meals to reduce stress at mealtimes, the comforter dolls and the staff who take the time to keep someone company when they can. The home is always clean, and brews and snacks are plentiful. The 2 resident cats give an extra homely feel.

My mother has lived at Epworth Grange for the past 18 months. Her is probably a familiar story. Living alone at home, an accident, hospital, an intermediate care facility; and then acknowledgement that home was no longer a safe option. We did our research and after a visit, decided that Epworth Grange was the most suitable option. We have never regretted this decision. My mother has been shown nothing but kindness and consideration from day one. The entire staff, including management, are approachable, patient and good humoured. The public areas of the home are always clean and uncluttered and her room is cleaned on a regular basis.

Management responds immediately to relatives, enquiries, and questions, and in response to events in the home.

The care and love shown to my mum for the six and a half years she has been a resident has been exemplary. I will be forever grateful to all the staff who made her last years comfortable and secure. I would have no reservations in recommending Epworth Grange as a care home for their loved ones.

Our aunt has been living at Epworth Grange for a couple of years now and we cannot praise the care, management and dedication of the staff enough. She was made to feel welcome from day one, which was such a great achievement and relief to us (as we are located 200 miles away from her home). We could not wish for any better care, compassion and understanding for our aunt.
