Overall Experience
The staff at Pemberton Fold are outstanding. Every member of staff that I have talked to in the home have been so caring and attentive. My father has advanced Alzheimer's disease and unfortunately now needs 24hour care. He was suffering with anxiety and loneliness and was struggling to cope with every day tasks. After only a week living in Pemberton Fold he has improved massively. He seems to know staff really well and is so happy and relaxed. He is very well cared for and staff are able to update us whenever we ask about his care. He is really enjoying taking part in the many activity's that entertainment staff organise and although he can't quite remember what he's been up to he enjoys showing us the photos of him taking part.

Although parts of the building are a little tired, the standard of care from the wonderful staff more than make up for this. I would highly recommend this care facility.

Great security at door, very welcoming and helpful in every way, explaining everything and offering further help if required. Mum has settled in very nicely due to the amazing staff looking after her. The building has many security points and staff run it well. Great job and glad Mum's in great hands.

Was a little apprehensive after reading the last review, but I can honestly say that my experience has been nothing but great. My gran is looked after and cared for really good. The improvement in her well-being even after a short time is noticeable. All staff are caring and happy. Management have been visible and approachable and always make a point of welcoming me in the home. I have no concerns whatsoever. Rooms need updating but decorating has started.

Pemberton Fold is an outstanding care home. The staff are so caring, patient and kind both to the residents and their families. I was heart broken my dad needed respite as mum was poorly before Christmas but now they are both permanent residents. They are so well looked after by all staff doesn't matter what their role. We are so glad we found it by chance. It is spotless and doesn't smell like other care homes. The food is excellent

And the residents have a choice. There is a lovely lounge area and dinning room and a fabulous activity room. There is a hair salon and every need of every resident is met to the highest standard. I feel very reassured that my parents are safe and are looked after to such a high standard in a dignified way. It was hard when we dropped dad off that day but he couldn't have been more welcomed and I enjoy visiting and chatting to both mum and dad something I rarely had time to do when we was caring for them. It really is a lovely place to be.

What a disgusting place this is. Staff members never answer the phone and the staff are extremely rude. I would never recommend this place. I have had to bring food in for my mother as she refuses to eat what she has been given. My mother is fortunate that she is only there on respite and will be home soon.

Reply from Georgea Buckle, Operations Executive at Pemberton Fold

We're very sorry to hear about your experience and your mother's stay. This is not the standard of care we aim to provide. Friendly, warm and welcoming. The Staff are so kind and supportive. Especially two staff members in particular who really developed a connection with my Dad and went out of their way to look after him. A special thanks to another specific staff member also who cared for my Dad and helped us. Our impression of the home is positive and there is a lot for residents to keep busy and refreshed. Thank you for giving my Dad a positive environment.

All family and friends who have visited my husband while he was in respite (I had a hip replacement operation) gave positive feedback about his care. I only visited the home twice, once to drop him off and once to pick him up and my experience was the same. Would recommend this care home.

My Mum is very happy and relaxed here, despite her dementia.
All the staff know her and make a fuss of her (and me! They all know my name and I get a brew when I visit!) From the reception to the cleaners, the chefs to the caters - all lovely. Like a second family!
All of her medical and personal needs are more than met. The staff are all lovely, very respectful and have the patience of saints.
The food is good. She had been very poorly in hospital and lost a lot of weight but she soon regained it here.
Her room is nice and the whole place is very clean. The lounge area is a nice space where the residents watch TV together.
There are regular activities, parties and celebrations with both in-house games and films and outdoor singers and entertainers.

A few months ago Mum was in hospital with a chest infection and this time cemented my feelings about Pemberton Fold. Whilst the care was excellent I constantly just wished she was back there, for the TLC they provide.

I was happy to see staff, residents and families joining in with a quiz - each day they have activities which are clearly displayed in the resident's room.
People with dementia need this to stimulate their minds rather than just sitting in a chair doing nothing.

The room could do with modernising a little better, TV was not working and wardrobes were damaged, but the room was clean.

Lovely clean premises, home-cooked hearty meals, and lovely caring staff. My mum couldn't be in a better place a real home from home. Residents seem happy and settled and interact well with the staff. Although Mum was not able to participate due to her mobility there were structured and meaningful activities planned daily.

My mother has been in Pemberton Fold since February. She has Lewy Body dementia and can be quite demanding. However, due to the dedicated care that she receives, she is happy and very settled in her lovely room.
The home is spotless and always smells fresh and clean.
The home provides so much for the residents to do such as coffee mornings, bingo, visiting singers etc.
The best way I can describe this care home is that the staff really do care for the residents. They are personable and their communications are very good, always giving up-to-date details or any general information on how my mum is doing day to day.

Overall I feel so confident that my mum is in good hands and is receiving the best of care.

Pemberton Fold is literally amazing, my mum spent the last three years of her life there, and was absolutely loved and cherished by the amazing team. The team there are passionate about caring and looking after people. Mum was in Pemberton during covid and how the staff coped through such a trying time was so admirable. Unfortunately, I didn't have much feedback from my brother-in-law about his stay. I asked him different questions and all he said was "it was alright". But that's the norm for him. I asked about his meals and he couldn't tell me was he had eaten. I felt comfortable leaving him for the first time in 30 years. It was a hard decision. I felt that he was in safe hands with lovely caring staff.
