My sister has been a resident in the Claremont Nursing Home for the past fifteen months. Her condition varies according to her moods, which sometimes can be testing for those looking after her. The staff are kind and cheerful and she is well looked after. The home is very clean and the meals are well
cooked and nicely presented. I am always made welcome when I visit and appreciate what a good job they all do.Thank you.

Was a little apprehensive after reading the last review, but I can honestly say that my experience has been nothing but great. My gran is looked after and cared for really good. The improvement in her well-being even after a short time is noticeable. All staff are caring and happy. Management have been
visible and approachable and always make a point of welcoming me in the home. I have no concerns whatsoever. Rooms need updating but decorating has started.

Mum came to Eccleston Court initially for respite after a fall at home. Mum had terminal cancer and was known to be in the last months of life. From the moment we arrived at the care home Mum was welcomed warmly by all members of staff. The cleaners, carers, cooks, activity coordinator, administrator,
nurses and managers were always kind & courteous.
Mum was always treated in a kind and dignified manner. The activity coordinator came into her room daily if she didn't feel up to mixing she provided resources to keep her entertained in her room.
The food was good and varied & drinks/ snacks were provided regularly.
The carers were kind & provided dignified care, were always cheerful & polite.
The nurses were professional & skilled at managing mums diabetes & provided outstanding EOL care. Mum died peacefully surrounded by her family. We will be forever grateful for the care she received in Eccleston Court.
Elena is an excellent manager that genuinely cares about the residents.
Reply from Georgea Buckle, Operations Executive at Eccleston CourtThank you for your touching review and for trusting Eccleston Court with your mum's care during such a difficult time. We are truly honoured to hear she was treated with kindness, dignity, and compassion by all members of our team, and that she was able to spend her final days peacefully surrounded by family.

Eccleston Court was recommended to us for respite care by the hospital for my mother in law. We were very nervous about her going into care, however the transfer was arranged for later that day. To alleviate our concerns we decide to do an impromptu site inspection.
We arrived and the home was
in the middle of getting ready for the residents Xmas party later that day so our timing wasn't great. However, we were welcomed by Julie on reception and then by Elena the manager. She took the time to show us round all areas front and back of house and to answer any questions or concerns that my wife had.
My MIL settled in very quickly despite arriving mid Xmas party. The maint man touched the room up beforehand. Joanne, Cody, Kara & all the team provided the best care, comfort & dignity in her last few weeks of life for which we are very grateful. Elena came to give us her unwavering support as my MIL passed. A lovely touch which confirmed we made the right choice.
Reply from Georgea Buckle, Operations Executive at Eccleston CourtThank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We know how worrying it can be when a loved one moves into respite care, and we're glad we could provide reassurance from the very start. It's comforting to hear that your mother-in-law settled in quickly and that the team supported both her and your family with kindness and respect.
Your appreciation of the care, attention to her comfort, and the support shown during such a difficult time means a great deal to everyone here. Your kind words will be shared with the team at Eccleston Court.

Very positive staff and atmosphere. Any issues with the room and the staff are always quick to respond and fix any problems. They've given her good birthdays and put on a good show by hiring a singer for the day (her 90th), which was thoughtful. They put good effort for festive seasons and spread a
good vibe, which gives a nice change for residents.

On Christmas Day resident had requested a trifle for sweet. There was none left. They said they would take resident back to room and bring an alternative, this did not happen and they got no sweet. On Boxing Day I visited again and brought 2 trifles. I put one on the tray for that day and put one in
fridge for the following day, and informed staff. She did not get this the next day. If menus were filled in the day before then surely cook should have had enough for all residents & if anyone changed their mind.
Reply from Georgea Buckle, Operations Executive at Charnwood LodgeThank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are very sorry to hear about your experience over Christmas and Boxing Day, and that on this occasion you felt our service fell short of expectations. Not receiving the requested dessert, the promised alternative, and the trifle you kindly provided is not the standard of care we aim to deliver.
Your comments have been shared with the team so we can review what happened and prevent this from happening again. While overall feedback from families about Christmas Day was largely positive, we are disappointed that this was not your experience.
We encourage relatives and visitors to speak with a team member during their visit so concerns can be addressed promptly. However, we are truly grateful you brought this to our attention, as it helps us to improve. Thank you again for your feedback and continued support.

Claremont staff are caring and helpful and do what they can to make my husband as comfortable as they can. Families are made welcome. The manager is very approachable and kind. The nurses are very good with medication and seem to have a reliable system in place The response time to residents buzzers
is good. There are communication problems. Some language difficulties. Instructions for personal care has to be constantly repeated. Personal items go missing despite written notices and labels. I don't think this is intentional. There is room for improvement with general cleanliness and personal care but my husband is content, cared for and safe in Claremont.

Pemberton Fold is an outstanding care home. The staff are so caring, patient and kind both to the residents and their families. I was heart broken my dad needed respite as mum was poorly before Christmas but now they are both permanent residents. They are so well looked after by all staff doesn't matter
what their role. We are so glad we found it by chance. It is spotless and doesn't smell like other care homes. The food is excellent
And the residents have a choice. There is a lovely lounge area and dinning room and a fabulous activity room. There is a hair salon and every need of every resident is met to the highest standard. I feel very reassured that my parents are safe and are looked after to such a high standard in a dignified way. It was hard when we dropped dad off that day but he couldn't have been more welcomed and I enjoy visiting and chatting to both mum and dad something I rarely had time to do when we was caring for them. It really is a lovely place to be.

Who would give old people curry for dinner, who would have a dog running round the care home like Hazel Bank? The place is not very clean, and the rooms are shabby. The lift is always breaking down. The back stairs are filthy; this place is not worth the money patients pay. It needs a good clean or
closing down. It smells awful.
Reply from Georgea Buckle, Operations Executive at Hazel Bank Nursing HomeThank you for your feedback. Sorry to hear that your experience did not meet expectations. Cleanliness, maintenance, and odour control are taken very seriously, with regular checks in place and any concerns followed up promptly.
Our resident dog is much loved and brings great comfort and enjoyment to many residents. The dog does not attend every day, but residents enjoy interacting with and walking the dog in the gardens, and often express how much they miss the dog when it is not present.
All menus are based on resident choice. We hold weekly resident engagement meetings where residents discuss and choose meals, ensuring dishes such as curry are only included when residents have requested them, with alternatives always available.
Lift reliability and communal areas are closely monitored, and we apologise for any inconvenience experienced. We remain committed to providing a comfortable, respectful home and welcome you to discuss any concerns directly with the home manager.
