Eccleston Court

from Jane L (Daughter-in-law of Resident) published on 10 June 2026
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
Both my Father- in- law and Mother- in -law have been (still are) residents at Eccleston Court. The home is very well run and I have always felt that my family are safe, well cared for and happy here. The big difference between Eccleston Court and other homes we tried is the atmosphere of calm that
pervades the building. Managers and staff, care for residents with care, dignity and calm. This helps residents to feel relaxed and cope better with, what can be, challenging symptoms and experiences. As soon as you walk in you will see cleaning staff speaking to residents and visitors like old friends. The care staff and nurses go out of their way to tailor care to each person's needs. They speak to residents in a friendly, calm tone which must be comforting when away from your own home. The managers are constantly trying new activities/ themed events to enhance the experience for residents and are always available if you need to discuss your loved one. I know my family are in safe hands.
Reply from Georgea Buckle, Operations Executive at Eccleston CourtThank you for your wonderful review and for trusting us with the care of your father-in-law and mother-in-law.

We are delighted to hear that you feel your loved ones are safe, happy, and well cared for at Eccleston Court. Your kind comments about our calm atmosphere, dedicated team, and personalised approach to care mean a great deal to us and will be shared with all our staff.

Thank you again for your recommendation and continued support.

Claremont Nursing Home

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
Since my mum moved into Claremont, the home manager Ruth and all the lovely hardworking staff (carers, nurses, management, cleaners, admin and kitchen staff) have been truly compassionate and have taken the time to understand mum's likes, dislikes and moods. You are always greeted with warmth and professionalism.
Mum gets her medication on time.
Mum likes the food (especially the Asian food) and the room is clean and comfortable. All are approachable and kind even when they are busy.
They also put on amazing entertainment and as family visitors we were all made welcome to join in. It's a relief to know my mum is safe and looked after in a happy and engaging environment .
All their efforts are noticed and appreciated.
Reply from Georgea Buckle, Operations Executive at Claremont Nursing HomeThank you for your lovely review and kind words. We are delighted to hear that your mum is happy, comfortable, and well cared for at Claremont.
Your feedback about Ruth and the entire team means a great deal to us. We take pride in providing compassionate, person-centred care and creating a warm, welcoming environment for residents and their families.
Thank you for your trust and support - we will be sure to share your appreciation with the team!

Holly Park

from E Q (Daughter of Resident) published on 9 June 2026
Submitted via Postal Card • Report
Overall Experience 3.0 out of 5
The staff care for the residents, but there just aren't enough of them for the number of residents. Dad's urine bottles aren't emptied, and the last time I visited, one had been knocked over and had been walked all around his room. Dad is often left in dirty t-shirts and has no PJ bottoms, and is just
covered with a blanket protecting his dignity. Dad does seem happy at Holly Parl, and the staff are lovely with him. Communication could do with being better when there is any medical issue.
Reply from Georgea Buckle, Operations Executive at Holly ParkThank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are pleased to hear that your father is happy at Holly Park and that our staff have been kind and supportive. We are sorry to learn of your concerns regarding personal care, presentation, hygiene, and communication. These matters have been reviewed with the management team and will be addressed to ensure our standards are consistently maintained. We value your feedback and would welcome the opportunity to discuss your concerns further. Please contact the home manager at your convenience.

Carlingwark House

from A M (Sister of Resident) published on 9 June 2026
Submitted via Postal Card • Report
Overall Experience 1.0 out of 5
My sister moved into this home in March 2025 when it was under the 'Care Commission' and had many issues. It improved slightly but is nowhere near a satisfactory place for my sister to be cared for. She does not get bathed due to an unsatisfactory bathroom which is supposed to be under review. Staffing
is totally unsatisfactory most of the time, leading to a very disheartened staff. Many things need to be addressed as a matter of urgency! Not enough room to list the shortcomings!
Reply from Georgea Buckle, Operations Executive at Carlingwark HouseThank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We are sorry to hear that you are dissatisfied with your sister's experience at Carlingwark House. The concerns you have raised regarding personal care, bathing facilities, nutrition, and communication have been reviewed by the management team. We are working closely with healthcare professionals and contractors to address environmental challenges and ensure appropriate support is in place. We value all feedback and would welcome the opportunity to discuss your concerns further to ensure your sister receives the best possible care.

St Catherine's

from H M (Daughter of Resident) published on 4 June 2026
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5
Mum has lived at St Catherine's for nearly three years and is very happy there. Under new management the home is working hard to improve facilities and care for the residents. The staff are wonderful, from professional nursing staff and carers to housekeeping and kitchen staff. St Catherine's is a
small size home, all on one level with access to a central garden giving it a homely atmosphere. There is an excellent activities team with a weekly programme of varied activities and get togethers. As a family we have not regretted choosing St Catherine's to care for Mum in her final years.
Reply from Georgea Buckle, Operations Executive at St Catherine'sThank you for your lovely review. We are delighted to hear that your mum has been so happy at St Catherine's and that our team has made a positive difference to her experience.

Charnwood Lodge

from S H (Daughter of Resident) published on 3 June 2026
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 4.0 out of 5
I find that my relative doesn't always have a jumper or socks on .
I don't like the policy that relatives/ visitors cannot sit in dining room at mealtimes It is their home , not a hospital . It might be that some people want their loved one around at meal time or that they could be of help encouraging
to eat rather than a negative impact .
I have found my relative sitting in front of an open window quite often . It may be warm in the room but it's very drafty to sit there for hours .
I have found they do not pick up on health issues and report concerns to seniors
The radio is constantly on in dining room and other rooms which I find unnecessary.
I find they do try hard to motivate people in various activities
I like that there is lots of space and various areas to chill in
They have a nice garden and take people out
Most staff are caring and try their best
Reply from Georgea Buckle, Operations Executive at Charnwood LodgeThank you for taking the time to leave a review and share your feedback. We are pleased to read your positive comments regarding our caring staff, activities programme, gardens and efforts to encourage meaningful resident engagement. We will ensure your kind words are shared with the team.
We are sorry to learn that some aspects of your experience did not meet your expectations. Feedback is invaluable in helping us reflect and improve. Your comments regarding clothing, comfort and the home environment have been discussed with the team, and staff have been reminded of the importance of regularly checking residents' comfort and preferences.
We were particularly concerned by your comments regarding health concerns and escalation of medical issues. Residents' wellbeing remains our highest priority, and we work closely with healthcare professionals to ensure concerns are identified and addressed appropriately. We would welcome the opportunity to discuss any specific concerns further.

Carlingwark House

from Robbie C (Partner of Resident) published on 22 May 2026
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 3.0 out of 5
My partner has been in the home for over 12 months the staff, manager and area manager all do the best they can do due to the lack of investment into the home by the company owners.
I have requested meetings with the MD to discuss why they think it's acceptable to run the home especially at weekends
with staff levels lower than the regulations, in my opinion the home is being run by the owners for profit before care. The system they have put in place to enter and leave the home by ringing a doorbell and waiting for a response from a staff member once again cheap option should be investing in a proper security system with cameras. It would benefit the staff the residents and their families if the owners would stop their GREED for high high profits and invest in the home and their staff.

My mum moved into Eachstep in December 2025 and as a family we have never looked back. Mum loves everything about it, she lived alone so coming into residential care has opened up a whole new experience for mum. The staff are really friendly and nothing is too much trouble they definitely go above and
beyond. Mum has made lots of friends and enjoys all the activities that are offered on a daily basis. I am informed of anything that mum does throughout the day which is good. I would highly recommend Eachstep to anyone. I have no concerns leaving mum at all.

Pemberton Fold

The staff at Pemberton Fold are outstanding. Every member of staff that I have talked to in the home have been so caring and attentive. My father has advanced Alzheimer's disease and unfortunately now needs 24hour care. He was suffering with anxiety and loneliness and was struggling to cope with every
day tasks. After only a week living in Pemberton Fold he has improved massively. He seems to know staff really well and is so happy and relaxed. He is very well cared for and staff are able to update us whenever we ask about his care. He is really enjoying taking part in the many activity's that entertainment staff organise and although he can't quite remember what he's been up to he enjoys showing us the photos of him taking part.
Although parts of the building are a little tired, the standard of care from the wonderful staff more than make up for this. I would highly recommend this care facility.

I cannot tell you how grateful we are that my mother is so beautifully cared for by the wonderful team at Thorney Croft. They are kind, patient, supportive, gentle, nurturing and generally amazing. They treat our mother who has dementia with great respect and dignity and cannot seem to do enough for
her.
We as family live in other parts of the country and world so knowing Mum is happy and looked after is of great comfort to us.
With very grateful thanks.

The staff here are marvellous. They all know my Mum well and treat her with kindness, care and dignity at all times. Mum has lived here for over two years and our family has always felt welcome; plus well- informed and consulted about Mum's care. Facilities and systems are constantly reviewed and improved
and families invited to suggest improvements at meetings with the manager.
It is difficult when a loved one needs residential care. All the staff, cleaners, caterers, nurses, carers and managers at Eccleston Court go out of their way to meet the needs of my Mum, every day. There is a family atmosphere and I feel confident Mum could not be in a better place.

I had a great time with mother today. I took part in the tea party. The food was amazing, something for everyone. I can't praise the staff enough, they are so helpful and kind. Mum's needs are priority for them, and that's the most important thing, that she feels cared for.

My father has settled well and is content and more engaged which is lovely to see. He is well looked after both personaly and medically and staff have taken the time to find out his likes and dislikes to settle him into good routines. The setting is perfect for him. Bright and airy with various areas
to sit in as well as outside in the gardens with hilarious chickens! There are plenty of activities for Dad to access which keeps his brain stimulated and he is more engaged with us all now. The staff are competent, ensuring he is comfortable and cared for, whilst keeping the atmosphere light and cheery and engaging with his sense of humour.
