Great security at door, very welcoming and helpful in every way, explaining everything and offering further help if required. Mum has settled in very nicely due to the amazing staff looking after her. The building has many security points and staff run it well. Great job and glad Mum's in great hands.

Was a little apprehensive after reading the last review, but I can honestly say that my experience has been nothing but great. My gran is looked after and cared for really good. The improvement in her well-being even after a short time is noticeable. All staff are caring and happy. Management have been
visible and approachable and always make a point of welcoming me in the home. I have no concerns whatsoever. Rooms need updating but decorating has started.
Reply from Georgea Buckle, Operations Executive at Pemberton FoldThank you so much for your kind feedback. We're delighted to hear that your experience has been so positive and that you've already noticed an improvement in your gran's well-being.

It's wonderful to know our team's care, as well as the visibility and approachability of management, has helped you feel reassured and welcome. We also appreciate your comments about the rooms and are pleased you've seen the decorating work underway. We will share your kind words with the team at Pemberton!

Pemberton Fold is an outstanding care home. The staff are so caring, patient and kind both to the residents and their families. I was heart broken my dad needed respite as mum was poorly before Christmas but now they are both permanent residents. They are so well looked after by all staff doesn't matter
what their role. We are so glad we found it by chance. It is spotless and doesn't smell like other care homes. The food is excellent
And the residents have a choice. There is a lovely lounge area and dinning room and a fabulous activity room. There is a hair salon and every need of every resident is met to the highest standard. I feel very reassured that my parents are safe and are looked after to such a high standard in a dignified way. It was hard when we dropped dad off that day but he couldn't have been more welcomed and I enjoy visiting and chatting to both mum and dad something I rarely had time to do when we was caring for them. It really is a lovely place to be.
Reply from Georgea Buckle, Operations Executive at Pemberton FoldThank you so much for your lovely review.

We know how difficult that first step into respite care can be, so it means a great deal to hear that your mum and dad feel welcomed, safe and well cared for. Your kind words about our team, the home environment, and the facilities will be shared with everyone - they'll be truly appreciated.

We're so pleased you can now enjoy special time with your parents with peace of mind. Thank you for trusting us with their care.

My step Dad went to stay at Eachstep initially for a respite stay after his dementia condition meant he was no longer safe to live independently and it soon became clear that it was the perfect place for him to stay long term. We looked at so many other care homes and Eachstep is like a breath of fresh
air in comparison. The staff are caring, kind and knowledgeable about his specific dementia needs. His room is lovely - bright and airy and always spotless. He really enjoys the food and company at mealtimes. He has not looked this well in years and we can finally rest easy that he is happy, settled, safe and well cared for. He is treated like family and for that we are very grateful. Thank you for everything.

What a disgusting place this is. Staff members never answer the phone and the staff are extremely rude. I would never recommend this place. I have had to bring food in for my mother as she refuses to eat what she has been given. My mother is fortunate that she is only there on respite and will be home
soon.

Friendly, warm and welcoming. The Staff are so kind and supportive. Especially two staff members in particular who really developed a connection with my Dad and went out of their way to look after him. A special thanks to another specific staff member also who cared for my Dad and helped us. Our impression
of the home is positive and there is a lot for residents to keep busy and refreshed. Thank you for giving my Dad a positive environment.

All family and friends who have visited my husband while he was in respite (I had a hip replacement operation) gave positive feedback about his care. I only visited the home twice, once to drop him off and once to pick him up and my experience was the same. Would recommend this care home.

Mum sadly passed away at the beginning of February after 6 1/2 years as a resident. We cannot thank all staff enough for the care and love shown to her.
It is a difficult decision to hand your loved one over to strangers but we believe it is thanks to you that we had Mum for 97 years.
She could be
trying at times due to dementia but you were always patient and understanding of her needs, always keeping us updated on what was happening.
As Mum slowly declined in health you ensured she was always clean and fresh, things that mattered to her, e.g. her nails, always kept clean. When she didn't want to eat you tempted her and found she would eat yogurt or egg custards. Little things that meant so much.
Her last few weeks we cannot thank you enough for all you did, going above and beyond.
We just want to take this opportunity to Thank every member of staff, past and present for everything, there are no words to convey how much we appreciate what you have done for her and us over 6 1/2 years.
Reply from Georgea Buckle, Operations Executive at Heartly GreenThank you so much for your heartfelt words. We're truly sorry for your loss, and it means so much to us to hear that our care and support made a difference to both your mum and your family. It was an honor for the team to care for her over the years, and we're incredibly grateful for your kind appreciation of the team's efforts.

My Mum is very happy and relaxed here, despite her dementia.
All the staff know her and make a fuss of her (and me! They all know my name and I get a brew when I visit!) From the reception to the cleaners, the chefs to the caters - all lovely. Like a second family!
All of her medical and personal
needs are more than met. The staff are all lovely, very respectful and have the patience of saints.
The food is good. She had been very poorly in hospital and lost a lot of weight but she soon regained it here.
Her room is nice and the whole place is very clean. The lounge area is a nice space where the residents watch TV together.
There are regular activities, parties and celebrations with both in-house games and films and outdoor singers and entertainers.
A few months ago Mum was in hospital with a chest infection and this time cemented my feelings about Pemberton Fold. Whilst the care was excellent I constantly just wished she was back there, for the TLC they provide.
Reply from Georgea Buckle, Operations Executive at Pemberton FoldThank you so much for your kind words! It's heartwarming to hear that your mum feels happy and relaxed, and that you feel like part of the family too. Seeing my sister go into a care home has been the worst part of my life. We visited so many homes before finding Each Step and so glad we persevered. The staff are so well trained in understanding the behaviour that comes with dementia and do their utmost to keep everyone happy with thoughtfulness,
kindness and dignity. The settling in hasn't been without its difficulties but we have great confidence that each step forward will be trodden carefully and with love. Big thanks to everyone (bar none)!

Dad has been in Eachstep Blackley for over 5 years the support and care he receives is second to none. He has deteriorated over the last few years and despite this, all his needs are still met. As a family member, we are kept in the loop and also supported. We cannot fault the care he receives and

My mum who has dementia, moved into Eachstep Blackley in October 2024, for some respite as we had a very difficult time looking after her at home. This was her first real stint in a care environment, and even day centres hadn't gone well up to this point, so we were so nervous. However, I shouldn't
have been, as the care she has been receiving and the efforts the staff make to make her feel at home are second to none. She is happier there than she would have been at home, and I can relax knowing that she's safe, warm, well fed, and has constant good company. Whilst every aspect of this home is brilliant, the main aspect is the staff. They treat everyone like their family, with such respect and affection. They have sweet little in-jokes with my mum and really know how to put her at ease - within the first few days they had all the tools and tricks that she needs figured out, that have taken me years to master. Their dementia understanding and skills are really fantastic.
Reply from Phil Benson, Executive Director of Operations at Eachstep BlackleyThank you so much for your heartfelt and thoughtful review. We are so pleased to hear that your mum is thriving at EachStep Blackley and that the care she is receiving has exceeded your expectations. It's wonderful to know that the staff have been able to make her feel at home and have developed such a strong understanding of her needs so quickly. Our team is dedicated to providing respectful and affectionate care, and your kind words mean a great deal to us. We're also happy to know that you now have peace of mind, knowing she's safe, well-fed, and in good company. Thank you again for your trust in us!
