From the moment we arrived at St Catherine's which was quite late in the evening after bringing Dad home from Tenerife, we were greeted by the most welcoming and lovely staff.
Karen who works in the office and Anna who does all the activities hold a special place in our hearts.
There is a real
family feel to St Catherine's, from the residents all doing things together to the home cooked meals.
My Dad was very happy at St Catherine's and we will all miss everyone very much.
Reply from Georgea Buckle, Operations Executive at St Catherine'sThank you so much for taking the time to leave such a lovely review. We're delighted to hear that your Dad felt happy and comfortable at St Catherine's.
We will pass on your kind words to Karen, Anna and the team. It's wonderful to know that the warm, welcoming atmosphere and home cooked meals made such a positive difference for your Dad and your family.

My mum has lived in St Catherine's for nearly 2 years and is cared for by some of the most passionate and wonderful people in the care community. The whole care home is a community and the staff know the people living there. My mums room is overlooking the central garden area and has the afternoon sun
with bushes and trees visible from her bed. We have a bird feeder by the window and it brings her delight to see the birds feeding. Close to being 95 there's not much you want other than to be looked after well and chatted to plus a chance to join in some of the great activities the care home staff put on. My mums meals are good and the staff encourages her to eat and drink, my mum has dementia and needs constant support that we feel St Catherine's offer her. She is cared for and checked upon regularly during the day and night. The facilities are clean and in good order, the care support is excellent, she is treated with respect and shown dignity. The new management is better.
Reply from Georgea Buckle, Operations Executive at St Catherine'sThank you so much for your kind words. We're delighted to hear your mum feels comfortable, safe, and happy at St Catherine's. It means a lot to know that our team's efforts are making a real difference. We'll be sure to share your lovely feedback with the staff.

The care home has improved over the last few months in many ways. Management, staff and building improvements in all areas. The care and attention to the clients is also much better. We would like to thank all staff on the units for their work and support and hope that those improvements will continue
in the future. The home has a lot to give. The place has a nice feel when you walk in now and a much happier place all round.
Reply from Georgea Buckle, Operations Executive at Winsford GrangeThank you so much for your kind words! We're thrilled to hear you've noticed positive changes and that the home feels happier and more welcoming. Your support means a lot to the team, and we're committed to keeping the improvements going!

My dad went into the home in February 2024 when it wasn't that good. NO organisation staffing was an issue - level of care was non-existent, the home wasn't a happy place then in June 2024 everything changed for the best. - The manager was removed a higher nurse and staff. A particular staff member
was amazing confronting all the families saying things were on the the up after an awful time then we had a new manager. Wow what a change he has made, he is amazing, all staffing and nurses. It really is amazing the decoration is amazing and the staff are so much happier. :)

Christmas Day our daughter, son-in-law and myself had our dinner with my husband, we were warmly welcomed, had an excellent delicious meal, three courses, drinks all serviced by the activities staff and kitchen staff who had all worked on Christmas Day to look after and take care of the residents and
their families. My husband thoroughly enjoyed having his family with him. I often have lunch with my husband which he loves me to do. I look forward to these meals which are always well-cooked, well-prepared and tasty with a good variety, fresh vegetables and a pudding. The care staff were attentive and helpful.
Reply from Phil Benson, Executive Director of Operations at Winsford GrangeThank you so much for your kind and thoughtful review. My wife came into Winsford Grange at the beginning of June 2024 after 3 weeks in hospital, prior to that, she had been in another care home for approximately 3 and a half years at which she was settled. My wife, at first, was placed on Austin wing which was unclean and messy, there was even an ants
nest in her room of which I complained and she was moved. Since then, there has been a dramatic change at Winsford Grange. She was moved to Chaucer Wing, this has had a wonderful effect on her, after a few weeks she became happier and more content than at any time in a care home. This is without doubt down to all the staff on Chaucer.
Reply from Phil Benson, Executive Director of Operations at Winsford GrangeThank you for taking the time to share your review. We're so glad to hear that since your wife's move to Chaucer Wing, she has become happier and more content. We appreciate your understanding regarding the initial concerns you raised, and we're grateful that the changes we made have had such a positive impact on her experience. Our staff are dedicated to providing the best care, and we'll be sure to pass on your kind words to them. Thank you again for your support, and we're committed to continuing to provide excellent care for your wife.

From the moment we met the deputy manager for tea and biscuits, we were all spoken to honestly and with integrity. The staff and management have a high genuine level of care for residents and their families and friends. It feels like a close community where everybody is an integral part of the team.
I was so relieved that my friend was in the best place and still had the freedom and independence to be his own person.
Thank you for everything you have done, he is extremely happy.

We were advised to change Mum's home after her falling and breaking her hip. She went to St Stephen's when she came out of hospital. It was the right place for Mum to go. Since she has been there, she has put on weight and can now walk again due to the skills of the staff. Nothing is too much trouble
and everyone is pleasant and caring. Can't praise them enough.

My dad had later stages of dementia. When he moved to St Catherine's, he was bed ridden and needed support for all of his ADLs. Most staff were kind and compassionate with my dad. However, due to staffing and lack of knowledge/experience, my father did not receive the care he needed. My family, especially
at weekends, visited to ensure he was supported him to help meet his needs. Weekends, there were not enough staff, especially around meal times. My dad's weight plummeted drastically. It was heartbreaking to occasionally find his bed soiled/soaked in urine, only to be made worse to find, most of the time, had dried. I also found that drink/food/liquid medication had been rushed to the point it had dripped down his face and into his clavicle, this was too a regular occurrence.
Care staff, due to no fault of their own, lacked basic positioning knowledge and despite us hiring a private physio to support my dad weekly, and provide various recommended positioning references, was not implemented.
Reply from Georgea Buckle, Operations Executive at St Catherine'sThank you for sharing your experience. We're truly sorry to hear about the challenges your dad and your family faced - this is not the level of care we strive for. Your feedback is important and will be taken seriously to ensure lessons are learned and improvements are made.

The staff are excellent, nothing is too much trouble. If you need help or advice they always listen. They not only say that this is the resident's home by their family's home too. Very clean and comfy. My husband is always clean shaved and clean clothes on every day. Cannot fault anything.

My mum was admitted for observation from the hospital in early December. After two months in the hospital, Mum was deeply upset and confused, but within a few days, the wonderful carers in St Stephen's changed her mood totally. Now Mum is back to being the happy-go-lucky, cheerful person of old. Well
done, St Stephen's

I cannot praise the staff at St Stephen's enough. My brother was in there for over two years. He suffered from Progressive Supranuclear Palsy. He couldn't do a thing for himself. The staff were so lovely, and nothing was too much trouble. The day he passed was made a beautiful and pain-free experience;
it was very peaceful for him and us. I really can't thank them enough for the way they cared for him, also myself and his partner.
This home deserves more than the stars I can give beautiful, caring people.

Visited my auntie today who is a resident at st Catherine's. As soon as I walked through the door I was made to feel welcome by every member of staff. The home had a very warm, friendly atmosphere and it was very reassuring to see how happy my auntie was. On observation the residents were treated with
dignity and respect and the staff demonstrated warmth and compassion towards everyone. I was leaving just as lunch was being served, it looked delicious and I noted sufficient staff were available for those that needed some assistance. What a lovely place and look forward to visiting my auntie again.
