Staff very good at taking care of my fathers needs.

My experience of the care home is good. My mum seems settled and happy, the staff have all been so nice and frendly, the home is clean and food looks nice.

My sister moved into this home in March 2025 when it was under the 'Care Commission' and had many issues. It improved slightly but is nowhere near a satisfactory place for my sister to be cared for. She does not get bathed due to an unsatisfactory bathroom which is supposed to be under review. Staffing is totally unsatisfactory most of the time, leading to a very disheartened staff. Many things need to be addressed as a matter of urgency! Not enough room to list the shortcomings!

I cannot praise your staff highly enough every single one of them are amazing, dedicated, caring, patient, your company should be very very proud of them all I've been going in now for a year now and its always the same such a wonderful feeling of contentment well done to everyone.

My wife receives very good care at Thorney Croft. Despite being short staffed at times the staff remain cheerful and do their best to meet residents needs. Although my wife can't often attend activities there are many that would interest her. Overall a very friendly care home.

Despite mum's condition and health deteriorating this month, the staff at Thorney Croft have been extremely kind, caring and attentive, arranging for medical reviews and assessments and ensuring all aids to help mum remain comfortable and have the best quality of life available. They liaise well with the family and keep us updated at all times. Mum has been cared for with compassion, dignity and respect. As a family, we are extremely thankful to them all.

We were welcomed on arrival with several staff assisting us to the room. We were made comfortable in the room and had the lay out of the room explained including the ensuite facility. The sleeping arrangement was comfortable with staff assisting in undressing for bed, the staff are helpful, caring and enthusiastic.

I have requested meetings with the MD to discuss why they think it's acceptable to run the home especially at weekends with staff levels lower than the regulations, in my opinion the home is being run by the owners for profit before care. The system they have put in place to enter and leave the home by ringing a doorbell and waiting for a response from a staff member once again cheap option should be investing in a proper security system with cameras. It would benefit the staff the residents and their families if the owners would stop their GREED for high high profits and invest in the home and their staff.

My father has settled well and is content and more engaged which is lovely to see. He is well looked after both personaly and medically and staff have taken the time to find out his likes and dislikes to settle him into good routines. The setting is perfect for him. Bright and airy with various areas to sit in as well as outside in the gardens with hilarious chickens! There are plenty of activities for Dad to access which keeps his brain stimulated and he is more engaged with us all now. The staff are competent, ensuring he is comfortable and cared for, whilst keeping the atmosphere light and cheery and engaging with his sense of humour.

I feel welcomed into the home and I know all the staff and other residents and families.

Each time we have visited we find our relative relaxed, happy, great relationships wtih staff who are very friendly and kind. We in turn feel welcomed and find Cornwall Park homely & inviting. We often comment how we would recommend it to others. Our relative has really settled, talks about it being his home now & happy for it to be. There is a relaxed atmosphere whenever you enter the building and this is all down to the staff & management.

The staff in Merse house have made a difficult time for us as family an easier transition than expected. The home is happy, comfortable, and a lovely selection of meals. The care my mother is receiving is excellent with all her needs being addressed and dealt with. Everyone is welcoming and all seem to enjoy their work.

I have found the home well run and well maintained and very clean. The staff are very helpful and I am confident that my husband is being well cared for. The staff being as pleasant and happy as they seem to be is a positive reflection on the managements staff training and positivity. The kitchen is well run and produces excellent food with friendly obliging staff.

On Christmas Day resident had requested a trifle for sweet. There was none left. They said they would take resident back to room and bring an alternative, this did not happen and they got no sweet. On Boxing Day I visited again and brought 2 trifles. I put one on the tray for that day and put one in fridge for the following day, and informed staff. She did not get this the next day. If menus were filled in the day before then surely cook should have had enough for all residents & if anyone changed their mind.

My husband is so lucky to have got in to this care home. He was made to feel at home treated with respect & dignity, the staff are marvellous to him and any visitors he has. He has the best of food, kept so clean & tidy his room is perfect. Bed so clean also his toilet. Nothing to much bother for staff what he wants he gets. Lots of activities which is super. Lots of entertainment. I know when I leave him he is happy & safe. Overall a great place.

Charnwood care home is off the scale with fully trained staff + the internal + ,building is bordering on a hotel .
