The Review Score of 8 (maximum of 10) for Charlotte Grange Residential Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.
a) The Average Rating is 4.5 out of 5 from 2 Reviews over all time. This Average Rating is also the rating value for Charlotte Grange Residential Care Home in Google's Search Results - more info
b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.5 out of 5 from 2 positive Reviews in the last 12 months.
a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating of all Reviews over all time. For each review the Care Home / service is rated Excellent, Good, Satisfactory, Poor or Very Poor on a number of areas eg Staff, Management etc. The Care Home receives points for each rating as follows: Excellent = 5. Good = 4. Satisfactory = 3. Poor = 2. Very Poor = 1. These points are added up and then divided by the total number of completed ratings to generate the average rating.
The Average Rating of 4.542 for Charlotte Grange Residential Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (16 Excellents x 5) + (5 Goods x 4) + (3 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 24 Ratings = 4.542
b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 12 months. If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with 'Extremely Likely' or 'Likely' in answer to the question 'How likely are you to recommend this Care Home to friends and family if they needed similar care or treatment?'
The 5 points available are broken down as follows:
4 points are available for the first 5 Positive Reviews, 3 points for the first Positive Review and then 0.25 Points for each of the next 4 Positive Reviews.
1 point is available for reaching a target number of Positive Reviews based on 20% of the number of registered maximum number of service users. If the target is partially reached then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home with 50 registered maximum number of service users has a target of 10 Positive Reviews, if it has 10 or more Positive Reviews it will receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews will receive 0.7 points.
If there are no Positive Reviews in the last 12 months, then 2.5 points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 2 years. The calculation is the same as above, except the points are divided by 2.
The 3.467 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Charlotte Grange Residential Care Home is based on 2 positive Reviews in the last 12 months and is calculated as follows:
3 + 0.25 = 3.25
Target of 9.2 positive Reviews (46 registered maximum number of service users ÷ 5). 2 Reviews ÷ 9.2 Target = 0.217
When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
Review submitted from a Website Submission by Richard B (Son of Resident) on Wednesday 27 September 2017. Relates to September 2017.
Charlotte Grange is a pleasant environment for both my mother and father. The staff are very attentive and friendly to both residents and visitors alike. When I have phoned to make a general inquiry, the staff are always helpful. Everywhere is kept very clean and tidy and the residents look as though they really appreciate the fun/recreation activities that are provided. The lounge areas are comfortable as are the residents' beds and private sitting areas. A bonus when the weather is nice are the pleasant gardens that surround the home. It is easy to forget you are so close to busy town centre, it is a real little retreat away from the hustle and bustle. The food provided always looks tasty, it is nice to see the residents enjoying the fayre on offer. Great staff, a nice location, and peace of mind to relations such as myself, knowing that my parents are comfortable and in the safe hands of caring people. I would give Charlotte Grange and all those who work there a 10/10 score.

Review submitted from a Website Submission by Christine B (Daughter-in-law of Resident) on Sunday 6 August 2017. Relates to April 2017.
My in-laws came into Charlotte Grange in April undernourished and unable to care for themselves.
Within 2 weeks the difference in their mental well-being and physical appearance was significantly noticeable.
Three months later they are happy, clean, well fed and continue to improve due to the caring staff.
We live a 6-hour round trip away and their key workers are always very welcoming and update us on how they are getting on. They also telephone us with health updates when necessary.
We have noticed that the staff treat all residents equally despite varying individual needs.
Some of the stress of having to place 2 elderly people in permanent care has been alleviated by Charlotte Grange.
