Dryclough Manor is a lovely care home and Mum was made to feel welcome on day one. She really enjoyed her stay for the two weeks and is happy to go back when she needs further respite care.
Mum enjoyed the food and activities but the best was that she made friends and wants to keep in touch with them.

Thank you so much for your kind review. It was a pleasure to look after Mum. It's lovely that the ladies are still in touch today.

My sister moved into Dryclough Manor after a short stay in hospital for respite. The care, professionalism and knowledge has been out of this world. My sister loves all activities and we visit weekly to join in with the quiz. Nothing is ever too ,much trouble and the staff always go that little extra
mile to make the residents smile. All I can say is please book a visit to go and view this lovely home.

After viewing several homes we decided on Dryclough Manor for my wife, my daughter and I settled for this lovely home. My wife is very settled and content there, she has made friends with a group of ladies who welcome us each time we visit and share stories of their day. I always find the staff friendly
and approachable each time I visit. My wife's room is a good size and always smells clean. The managers have shown professionalism whenever I have approached them for advice. As my own health is failing rather quickly I would most certainly consider a room for myself in the near future.

Dad moved into Dryclough Manor from another care setting. The progress he has made in the past few weeks has been phenomenal. He is happy, eating well and back up on his feet, he was even spotted having a little dance with one of the carers. Dad's room is nice and bright, and the decor is clean and
neutral, so I have been able to personalise it to suit his taste. There are plenty of food options and alternatives, Dad can be a fussy eater; however, he has never gone hungry. I will certainly consider this home for my mother in the near future.

My sister moved into Dryclough Manor in January 2024. Although we had looked around several homes, we did not feel as welcome as we did as soon as we stepped into Dryclough Manor. We were able to see first-hand the staff interacting with residents and how attentive they were. There was a music quiz
in the main lounge when we visited and we could see how happy and cared for the residents looked. My sister recently celebrated a birthday and the cook made her a beautiful, personalised cake, she still talks to me about this weeks later. I feel welcome when I visit and the staff are quick to update me of any changes, the home is warm and bright and no odours. My sister is very happy and that is all that matters to me. I would give this home ten stars if I could.

My mother has settled into life at Dryclough Manor extremely well. The staff have been our guardian angels, and knowing Mum is receiving the very best care is comforting to us as a family. We see regularly how well the staff interact with service users, each other and also us visitors. We never feel
like a hindrance while we are there and can ring for updates anytime we like. I chose Dryclough Manor as we felt the friendly atmosphere as soon as we walked in. We witnessed the activities and how happy everyone appeared. I would certainly recommend Dryclough Manor to anyone looking for a carehome.

My husband, who has dementia, was admitted into Dryclough Manor for respite while I recovered from surgery as I am his main carer. He was very well looked after and I was never made to feel like a hinderance when I phoned everyday. The staff are very proactive and understand their residents' needs.
My husband continues to talk about 'the hotel' (as he called it) and it is warming to know how much he enjoyed his stay. I would certainly choose Dryclough Manor in the future should he require respite again or possibly a permanent placement.

My husband's condition deteriorated massively over the last couple of weeks and I could no longer care for him at home. I was faced with the agonising choice of placing him in twenty-four-hour care. Although this was not what we wanted for him initially, as a family we had no choice. We felt the pleasant
atmosphere when looking around the care home and staff seemed happy and welcoming. The home was clean and odour free, although we could not see a room at time of viewing due to having no vacancies, we felt this would be the perfect home for him. He enjoys all activities despite his stroke taking some of his independence, we feel this is always promoted and respected. We can visit openly and I am always kept informed of any changes. He always looks clean and smart, dignity was always a big thing to him. The office is always open throughout the week and I am welcomed to share thoughts and ideas freely. We feel listened to and always put at ease. We would recommend Dryclough Manor to anyone.

My sister moved into Dryclough Manor in June 2023 after a brief hospital stay. She is always happy and content when we visit. Her room is always clean, bright and smells lovely. There are always activities happening when we visit and the staff always make us feel very welcome and we are encouraged to
join in. The food always looks and smells good, especially the cakes. My sister has decided to become a permanent resident and we fully support her decision, we couldn't have picked a better home if we tried.

Mum moved into Dryclough Manor in November 2022, we looked around several care homes before settling for Dryclough Manor. The staff are attentive and care for Mum like their own family. The food always looks and smells delicious, Mum has a sweet tooth and enjoys the cakes on offer. Her room is always
bright and clean, we have personalised the room with decor and pictures. Nothing is too much trouble for anyone and I feel I can always approach the staff if needed. Mum loves playing bingo and even walked the plank on the VR which she enjoyed and had never experienced anything like it.

My grandad has recently moved into Dryclough although there was slight confusion on his behalf as he suffers with vascular dementia he has settled in really well. The staff are brilliant with him and nothing is too much trouble. At home he wasn't eating well but he is managing three meals a day here
and slowly putting on weight. The management are easily approachable and made our family completely at ease with our decision. I know he will never get better but I know he has the best care and support to help make his life that bit easier.

Grandad moved into Dryclough Manor after the loss of Grandma in December, he was lonely and a shell or his former self. The staff treated him like one of their own family which was heartwarming as a family to witness. Nothing is too much trouble, the staff are always attentive to residents needs, the
home is always clean and smells fresh. Grandad has picked up and smiling again, he has gained weight and has become good friends with a few residents too. The activities seen on our visits have been amazing, we now log in on social media regularly to keep up to date with the fun he is having.

Mum had a great stay at Dryclough Manor Care Home. Mum was there for two weeks respite and will go back as she says it was like being on holiday. I felt happy leaving mum there whilst I went away, I rang her daily and every time I spoke to her she was doing something different and enjoying the food
and the company of the other ladies in the lounge where she sat. The staff were helpful and kind, her room was a little on the small side but she didn’t spend much time in there. Overall we’re very happy and mum is happy to go back.

Mum was admitted into Dryclough Manor on a 4 weeks respite as an emergency admission, during this time we were worried as we hadn't had a chance to look around the home. I rang and spoke to the staff on several occasions throughout the day who were able to put our minds at ease. I have been kept fully
informed of any changes in Mum's health and well-being. Every time we visit we are always welcomed, Mum's room is clean and spacious, there are no odours and Mum is always involved in activities, especially karaoke sessions. The food looks appetising and smells so good! We would definitely look at Mum being a permanent resident as she is so settled and content.

She has received excellent medical care when needed. She loves joining in with the activities and looks forward
to the entertainers that come in. I am able to visit when I want and take her out once a week.

Grandma initially came for respite after a short illness resulting in a hospital stay. We, as a family tried to keep her in her own home for as long as we could until we discovered Dryclough Manor Care Home, Gran was settled and welcomed like part of their family. She gained weight, mood was lifted
and became happy again. Home is clean, bright and spacious and odour free. Staff always make us feel welcome and keep us informed of any changes. I would definitely recommend Dryclough Manor.

Current Review Score: 9.9 (9.878)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.9 (9.878) out of 10 for Dryclough Manor is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 5.000 for Dryclough Manor is calculated as follows: ( (108 Excellents x 5) ) ÷ 108 Ratings = 5
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.878 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Dryclough Manor is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.9
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 46 registered maximum number of service users is 9.2. 9 Positive Reviews ÷ 9.2 = 0.978
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
