My mum has been in Nightingale care home for 6 years, she has always been cared for in a way that I would expect to care for a family member or myself. the staff are exceptional, they hug, hold hands, dance and play games with all residents. My mum is very settled here, she always looks clean and smart
especially when she's been into the hairdresser who visits weekly! Mum's wellbeing is very important to me and knowing she is in Nightingales is very reassuring, I can't recommend them enough! Well done to the manager and all the team.
Reply from Julie Wright, Manager at NightingaleThankyou so much for your lovely review. We do love all our residents and find they have such special characters individually. We all look forward to your visits always with a very cheerful smile and kind word. Hope we continue to have a lovely relationship with both you and your mother.

I am very happy with the level of care provided to my sister. Staff go over and above to ensure her needs are met. This included a special birthday party organised by the home. Given my sister is relatively younger that other residents, it is important that this is taken into full account in planning
her activity schedule. Highly recommend Crofthead Care Home.

Charlton Kings Care Home

from Mary W (Daughter of Resident) published on 6 February 2026
Submitted via Website • Report
Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
Our relationship with Charlton Kings Care Home stretches back decades, to when they used to take care of my grandmother for stretches of respite care. When it came to a time that we could no longer care for my parents in their own home, CKCH became a home from home, a place where my parents were truly
loved and able to continue to see each other every day whilst being kept safe and taken care of by the kindest, most loving team you could ask for.
Leaving CKCH really brought home to me how extraordinary the relationship was and is - it goes far beyond client and provider. There are too many individuals to name, but they cared for my mum and dad physically and emotionally, and opened their doors to us as a family too. I miss you all, team!
Reply from Jan Makin, Manager at Charlton Kings Care HomeThank you so much for taking the time to share such a heartfelt review. It truly means a great deal to all of us at Charlton Kings Care Home.
It has been a real privilege to support your family over the years, from caring for your grandmother to being there for your mum and dad when they needed us most. Knowing that CKCH felt like a home from home, and that your parents were able to remain together, safe, and so clearly loved, is exactly what we strive for every day.
Your words about the relationships formed, and the care given not just to your parents but to you as a family, will be shared with the whole team and will mean more to them than you can imagine. We do what we do because of families like yours.
We miss you too, and you will always be part of the CKCH family. Thank you again for your kindness and trust.

My partner joined Nightingale in May 2025 and was immediately welcomed as part of the family, as were we all. He has benefitted from the love and care by all the staff, but I was still dreading our first Christmas without him at home. Instead we all had a lovely time and were involved in lovely activities-
parties, pyjama day, karaoke, visiting singers and local school choir. It was such a loving atmosphere, we got so much from our Nightingale Christmas and really appreciate everything done for our family.

Overall Experience 5.0 out of 5
My mother spent two weeks in Wavertree House while her toilet was replaced at home. I was very happy with her stay. Overall it was a positive experience; nothing was too much trouble for the very pleasant staff; her room was spotlessly clean, warm and had a lovely view over the garden. She particularly
enjoyed having an assisted bath, complete with coloured highlights! Her only complaint was in relation to meals arriving at unpredictable times and sometimes cold, but the regular tea and coffee trolley with biscuits and sometimes homemade cake was a delight. Having a kitchenette also helped her to feel independent, and being able to get her hair cut was a bonus.

If I could give summerhill more then 5 stars I would. Fantastic home fantastic staff and amazing management staff. From the moment my mum entered summerhill she has been looked after with total care and made to feel like she still has independence. On arriving management were outside waiting for my
mum and to show us around. I can not recommend summerhill enough.
Reply from Caroline Thomas, Manager at SummerhillThis has absolutely made my day - thank you! If we could give you more than 5 stars as a family member, we would too!
I'm so glad we were there to welcome your mum on arrival. First impressions matter and we wanted her to feel special from the start. It sounds like we got it right!
What you said about independence whilst being well looked after is exactly what we aim for. Supporting residents when needed but never taking away their choices - I'm thrilled your mum feels that.
Please give your mum a big hug from all of us - she's a star!

It's very obvious that staff know mum well. As her needs change, they change their tactics. From the start she has felt free of worry. Staff also recognise us as mum's family. Strong management team. Clear communication with family.
Reply from Marcia Stewart, Manager at Crofthead Care HomeThankyou, we are pleased that the staff team communicate well and reduce anxiety for the resident and their family.
