In my professional career I visited a lot of Care Homes. Woodbine Manor is by far the best Home I have ever visited. The staff were cheerful and incredibly helpful. I was particularly impressed by how well they knew all their residents. You can tell that by the way they spoke to each individual and also how they interacted with each person. My mother could be difficult at times but because the staff knew her so well they were always able to overcome any difficulties and Mum would soon be joining in whatever activities were provided. There was always something of interest happening where the residents could join in or get pleasure simply by watching and encouraging others. I've told my children if I need to go into Care to book me into Woodbine Manor.

We put Mum into 8weeks respite care at Woodbine following 9weeks in hospital. Her room is tastefully decorated with ensuite facilities and she has personal possessions in there to make it feel more homely. She has a door from her room to a little garden area. The staff have been extremely helpful to me with my never ending questions and are very caring and attentive with the residents. There's plenty of activities going on, something every day with various themes. Main garden has a pond and shaded area to sit in which is perfect on a summers day. The lounge has air conditioning and is a hub of activity. Lounge and dining room do have quiet areas if you want to just sit and chat. Mum sometimes chooses to have meals in her room. She has had the services of the hairdresser and chiropodist. It's a big responsibility choosing care for a parent and every time I visit Mum I feel reassured that she is in safe caring hands at Woodbine. We are going to extend her stay.

My friend stayed at WOODBINE MANOR for 2 weeks of respite care in April 2026 and really enjoyed his stay. The staff were friendly, attentive, and made him very welcome throughout. The home itself is beautiful, warm, and very welcoming. I was very pleased with the care and support he received .It was a relief and peace of mind for his lovely wife and me as a long term carer. I've known the pair for 10 years and it was the first time being apart. Really great and would recommend to anyone who seeks a little break or long term stay.

Dad became a resident of Woodbine Manor in August 2025 with advanced Alzheimer's. My mother was his dedicated carer at home for as long as possible, but the toll on her own wellbeing was significant, even if she couldn't see it at the time. She was initially reluctant for Dad to go into care, choosing respite at first. He settled so quickly and comfortably that it spoke volumes about the level of care provided, and Mum made the decision for him to stay permanently. Knowing he is safe and well looked after has given her genuine peace of mind. Being local, she pops in every other day - she hasn't lost him, just found a new rhythm. The change in her is wonderful to see. She looks better, is reconnecting with old friends, and has reclaimed a quality of life that had slowly slipped away. Thank you, Woodbine Manor.

My Nan was moved to the home due to care needed beyond our ability for early dementia and Alzheimer's. From the initial visit to her home across over 2 years to the last days of her stay the staff and management were thoughtful, kind and experienced. They developed activities during the time, put measures in place for her health and kept communication in place throughout.

Thank you to the whole team for looking after her

My dad came to Woodbine Manor Care Home for a two-week period of respite care to give my mum a much-needed break. From the moment he arrived, the team at Woodbine were incredibly kind, patient and caring. We truly couldn't have asked for more. Dad settled in very quickly and seemed happy in his own way, which meant a great deal to us. We were able to visit every day and were always made to feel so welcome, with the team regularly offering us a cup of tea or coffee. The lounge area was spacious, bright and very clean, and Dad's room was also clean and comfortable, which helped him feel at ease. We would like to say a very special thank you to all of the team for making some of his final days such a calm, caring and positive experience. It meant more to our family than words can say.

What a lovely care home. You are always greeted with a smile. The staff are incredibly polite and caring. I have been visiting the home for almost a year now since my friend/neighbour moved in, and every visit has been a pleasure. The home is always clean and there are so many activities for residents to enjoy. The recent improvements have made the home bright, welcoming and even more comfortable.

1) Level of care and kindness of staff are exceptional. A result of their high calibre and typically long periods of employment at Woodbine. 2) MGT outstanding. 3) Recent significant refurbishment. (Pleased lift is now operational again, so mum can enjoy a full shower)

My friend was admitted to Woodbine Manor on 8th October 2025. She immediately captivated the hearts of the staff by her wonderful personality. That night she suddenly deteriorated and died on 12th October. She was expertly and lovingly cared for by the staff and so were we her friends. She could not have been in a better place for the last days of her life. The staff are all loving and kind and the home bright and cheerful. We cannot thank them enough for everything they did.

I have been visiting Woodbine Manor on a weekly basis for a few years now, currently seeing two residents, giving them Holy Communion. I have always found the staff very welcoming and considerate, both to myself as well as with the residents under their care. I generally see the residents in a communal area, but if I have seen them in their room, they have been fine and settled in their surroundings.

Woodbine Manor Care Home looked after both my parents during their final days when they were invariably treated with dignity, respect and compassion. The staff were ever-present, caring, professional and endlessly patient. As a family, we were offered kindness and support, along with many cups of tea! Our parents were treated with love and concern for their physical, mental and emotional states. The staff went above and beyond their duty to make the home comfortable and welcoming for the residents, I even saw one member of staff give up her time off to make the gardens beautiful prior to an afternoon tea for the residents. We were also very impressed by the attention to every tiny detail; the quality of their handovers to the next shift of staff is amazing, we always felt that all the staff were very aware of every facet of our parents' care. We offer thanks and highly recommend Woodbine for giving our parents such a positive experience of loving care during their final days.
