We thought long and hard about our mother moving into a care home. Woodbine Manor was different to other places and we knew quickly it was the best choice for her. The staff are kind, respectful and caring. Mum is very settled and clearly feels safe and cared for. Thank you to the whole team.

Following a fall, sustaining a head injury it was not necessary for my father-in-law to return home from the hospital, it was not known if recovery was possible, or how long or to what extent it may be. The manager deputy/entertainer along with all other staff went above and beyond to ensure my father-in-law
received the best person-centred care which was constantly adapted as he recovered. Cannot thank the team enough. He's now back home.

My friend, who is the resident, has told me how happy she is living at Woodbine She says it is lovely to be treated as a person of value than just some silly old person. The staff are kind and considerate and are always available for a chat and a joke. Loves the activities and joins in wholeheartedly.
For myself, it is lovely to see her settled, happy and so much better in herself.

Mum joined Woodbine Manor in October 2022. We have been delighted by the way she has settled in. The management are clearly passionate about dementia care and lead their caring, efficient and experienced day and night teams accordingly. Communication with family is excellent. I was even kept updated
on Mum's health, whilst on holiday abroad.
The atmosphere is bubbly and residents are kept entertained by a varied and highly stimulating daily programme of activities. Food is lovely, planned for the individual, if necessary.
The home itself is kept spotlessly clean and the garden area is lovely. I look forward to spending time with Mum in the newly refurbished 'Garden Cafe'. Family visits are warmly welcomed and we have already enjoyed a birthday party with Mum, in a beautifully decorated, private area. Lunch was provided and Mum loved it!
We are deeply impressed and highly recommend Woodbine Manor Carehome because they really do care; both for the resident and their family.

An excellent home that treated my mother with respect, love and lots of good humour and kindness. Despite her dementia, all the staff and management really got to know her and us, her family. We could not have chosen a better home for her.

Mum received wonderful care from the kind, friendly (I'd go so far as to say, loving), conscientious and competent team at Woodbine. I can't speak too highly of them and would recommend them to anyone looking for a warm, safe and caring environment for their loved one.

When I visit my mother, I watch her interaction of her with the staff "in the distance". She is comfortable and relaxed with them, and they are with her. I want my mother to be safe, sound and happy - she certainly is.
All the staff are helpful and friendly when I speak to them.
I have peace of
mind.

My father spent almost 3 years in Woodbine Manor and I have been very satisfied with the care and kindness he experienced. He had advanced dementia but was treated with respect and dignity. This is a very well run home but also a place where residents are treated as individuals.

The manager and her team at Woodbine have made my Dad's life so much better in so many ways - not only do they know how to care - really care - for people with advanced dementia, they also know how to support their families. I totally recommend Woodbine.

The staff and management have shown real care and compassion towards my dad. I will always recommend Woodbine Manor to anyone looking for care. My dad looks better now since being at Woodbine than he has in a long time. Even with his advanced dementia he often tells me he loves the staff as they are
kind and how he loves the food.

Very caring and professional with a friendly atmosphere. Residents seem calm and happy in their surroundings. Home is clean and hygienic with no nasty odours. Staff ready to discuss any problems that may occur. Have heard about abusive and non-caring homes, but I have absolutely no concerns about Woodbine.

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.741)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.741) out of 10 for Woodbine Manor is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 17 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 17 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.816 for Woodbine Manor is calculated as follows: ( (171 Excellents x 5) + (24 Goods x 4) + (5 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) ) ÷ 201 Ratings = 4.816
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.925 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Woodbine Manor is based on 17 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 + 0.025 = 3.925
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 29 registered maximum number of service users is 5.8, which has been reached with 17 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
