My dad has been very well looked after. All health concerns are dealt with using excellent care while maintaining dad's dignity. The facilities are superb, clean and well looked after. I feel vert happy leaving Harry knowing that he is so well looked after.

It's very obvious that staff know mum well. As her needs change, they change their tactics. From the start she has felt free of worry. Staff also recognise us as mum's family. Strong management team. Clear communication with family.

My relative is very settled in the care home. Her day to day wishes are respected, and she has been able to continue her life in a similar manner to the way she lived at home. As always, my mother is being cared for well. The facilities in Crofthead are wonderful but it is the care and compassion of the staff that is truly outstanding. I would not hesitate to recommend this care home to anyone looking for a place for a relative.

My mum has only been in the care of Crofthead for a few months have no issues with any of the staff they are friendly and encourage my mum to participate in activities we are already seeing the benefit of having other people around her

We cannot rate Crofthead Nursing Home highly enough and we have recommended this care home to friends and family. The staff are all lovely and treat mum as part of the family. She is happy and well cared for. We are always kept informed of any issues, trips and special lunch visits for celebrations,

Marcia Stewart

Job Title: Home Manager

Crofthead is owned by Carewise Homes Group and is run by Home Manager, Mrs Marcia Stewart. Mrs Stewart is an enthusiastic, flexible and approachable manager with over twenty five years’ managerial experience in care. She is a registered nurse, holds a Registered Managers Award, SVQ4 and is passionate about her role in delivering exceptionally high standards of care. Our outstanding care team are also dedicated and highly qualified; most have completed SVQ levels 2 or 3. We insist on a high standard of care, so our employees are carefully selected, full induction training is provided and continuing professional development is undertaken by each member of staff. Attentive and compassionate carers are available twenty-four hours a day. The high staff-resident ratio enables us to provide companionship and stimulation, as well as tending to your physical needs.


In addition to the care staff, Crofthead employs an activities coordinator, an expert cook, domestic staff, catering and kitchen assistants and a maintenance person.


During your first few weeks at Crofthead, we will produce an account of your past, including your background and interests. We compile any information you give us, into a short story which you can treasure with family and friends. It allows us a glimpse into your life before you became a resident and helps us to provide you with care and recreation.
