My father was only meant to be in Crofthead until a space became available in the home that I had chosen for him. When that time came, my father didn't want to move as he was more than happy with Crofthead. Crofthead were happy to accommodate him permanently.
I could see my father was happy and I had
seen for myself the care all the staff take in looking after their residents.

The home welcomed my mum in from the start - beautiful, yet homely, surroundings, outstanding care from all the staff which is personalised, almost intimate, yet professional and respectful.
Could ask for no better.
In addition, staff are caring and courteous to me as a visitor - welcoming whatever
the time of day and considerate of my needs and worries surrounding Mum's deteriorating condition.
Please note that I speak as a nurse for nearly 35 years so have had a lot of experience of care.

Crofthead Care Home staff are like family and they treat my Dad as they would their own. I can go about my day safe in the knowledge that he is being well taken care of. The home is extremely well managed and the staff always look happy. The home is exceptionally clean and free of bad odours. They encourage
my Dad to do things to keep him active both mentally and physically. They keep me informed of any changes or doctors visits. I could not imagine my Dad being anywhere else.

My mum is very well looked after in Crofthead. She is settled and happy and we have no issues with the quality of care.

My father in law had been a resident in the care home for a few years now. I have never had any worries or complaints since he was admitted. I am always kept up to date with issues concerning his care and staff are very helpful at all times.


My husband and I enjoy visits to the care home as the

atmosphere is always very pleasant. My father in law has thrived since living here and we have great piece of mind he is safe and well.

The home is excellent. The carers and all professional staff including cleaners, are very friendly and professional and looking after my aunt as best they can as she is not in good health at the moment. They are very good with her and are treating her with dignity.

Had to place both parents into full-time care after dementia conditions deteriorated in both. In my opinion, we could not have picked a better care home for them after seeing the level of care and affection shown to both. From putting the two of them together in a larger room so they could still be
there for each other to the dignity all the staff showed to the family when mum passed away recently. I would have no hesitation in recommending Crofthead Care Home to any family requiring full-time care assistance.

I am very happy with the standard of care that my parents are receiving at Crofthead Care Home. All staff are very capable, friendly and approachable. They cannot do enough for any of the residents. The home was also to be commended for its cleanliness and food.

The carers work very hard. My brother in law is very fond of a few of them. We had a few teething problems but I spoke to the manager and everything was sorted out no bother at all. Everyone is very easy to approach.

Marcia Stewart

Job Title: Home Manager

Crofthead is owned by Carewise Homes Group and is run by Home Manager, Mrs Marcia Stewart. Mrs Stewart is an enthusiastic, flexible and approachable manager with over twenty five years’ managerial experience in care. She is a registered nurse, holds a Registered Managers Award, SVQ4 and is passionate about her role in delivering exceptionally high standards of care. Our outstanding care team are also dedicated and highly qualified; most have completed SVQ levels 2 or 3. We insist on a high standard of care, so our employees are carefully selected, full induction training is provided and continuing professional development is undertaken by each member of staff. Attentive and compassionate carers are available twenty-four hours a day. The high staff-resident ratio enables us to provide companionship and stimulation, as well as tending to your physical needs.


In addition to the care staff, Crofthead employs an activities coordinator, an expert cook, domestic staff, catering and kitchen assistants and a maintenance person.


During your first few weeks at Crofthead, we will produce an account of your past, including your background and interests. We compile any information you give us, into a short story which you can treasure with family and friends. It allows us a glimpse into your life before you became a resident and helps us to provide you with care and recreation.
