Charlton Kings Care Home provides 24-hour care in a secure, welcoming environment (CQC Rated Good in March 2023). Their bedrrom are spacious and bright; all have their own WC, with some offering en-suite bathrooms and direct garden access.

Set within a modernised period property, their residential care home has been specially adapted to the needs of their residents. Their wonderful members of staff have created a warm, friendly and secure environment for their residents to enjoy, and are dedicated to providing 24-hour care and assistance. Services and amenities have been designed, and are constantly upgraded, to ensure residents’ complete well-being.

Different types of accommodation are available with some rooms equipped with their own en-suite bathrooms and direct access to a beautifully landscaped garden. Residents are encouraged to bring small pieces of furniture and personal items to make their space their own.

The gardens offer residents space to enjoy some peace and relaxation among natural surroundings boasting a wide variety of flowers, trees and ornaments. Residents and families can also choose to relax from a number of large sitting rooms with comfortable sofas.

Families are always made to feel welcome and may visit whenever they choose.

My mother has now lived in her new home at Charlton Kings for 5 months. From the outset I have been in awe of the care and commitment from all the staff. Before mum moved a senior staff member video called her to chat, reassure and allow her to ask questions, mum lived some distance away and I needed
to be with her, the staff member did this on her day off. Her move into CK was smooth, entirely due to the kindness, thoughtfulness and friendliness of every member of staff. I visit frequently and every time I witness an interaction between staff and residents that seems to be beyond the basics of care. I feel the residents are genuinely loved, respected, liked and their needs, however complex are always the priority. I feel very lucky that we were able to find such a compassionate and caring home for my mum where all her basic care needs are considerately met with dignity by such thoughtful and kind carers. My mum talks to me about how lovely, kind and supportive she finds all the staff.

My mother has been at Charlton kings care home for 5 weeks, after a particularly bad experience at another home .All the staff are happy in their work and extremely caring.
Nothing is too much trouble .The food is good ,looks and smells appetising. Drinks and snacks are offered to residents and family
on a regular basis. she has a lovely bright airy room .
But most importantly she is getting the care she needs, she's happy so as a family we're happy. A big thank you to the manager and her team.

I wanted to leave a review of this wonderful care home as I have been so impressed. The staff are second to none and are highly attentive, welcoming and always have a smile on their faces. They know your names and always offering drinks and even food. They became like a second family! The care my grandad
received was of the highest quality. Although he did pass away recently; the last few weeks were very comfortable for him and this was made possible by the staff. The senior members of the team stayed late on many occasions when we had the need for ambulances to come out and really cared for my grandfather and his health. I will miss going in each day and seeing all the wonderful people at the home. The manager really should be proud of the team she has as they are fantastic people and a credit to the care home. The carehome was always clean and tidy and has wonderful facilities and gardens. I really want to thank you all for the care and friendship you gave to my grandad.

Mum was resident from August 2023 until March 2025. During this time Mum had excellent care from a regular team of smiling staff with endless patience and understanding of those living with dementia. The home is homely and welcoming, all staff knew Mum's needs and interests and knew visiting family
members by name. Activities are varied, relevant and interesting, and included trips out with others in the local community and to events; far beyond my expectations. Care is tailored to individuals and purposeful. I have no hesitation in recommending Charlton Kings Care Home.

So happy and relieved to find this home for Mum. She is well looked after by a delightful team under Sumit's leadership. There is a nice garden to sit out in and option to take meals in room or communal areas

The staff at Charlton Kings Care Home are truly amazing - I have always called them mum's angels without wings! My mum went into the care home in April 2022 and sadly passed away in December 2024. She had dementia and was so incredibly well looked after by all the staff who were cheerful, smiling, kind,
considerate and thoughtful. They treated mum with huge respect and with great affection, she loved them, and as dementia began to further take control of her, the staff helped us to navigate her final years as we witnessed her struggle with loss of memories and independence as heartbreaking as it was humbling. While the experience of dementia tested our strength as a family, it also deepened our bond, supported by the manager and the wonderful team at the care home. Nothing was ever too much trouble, and whilst our mum is now at peace, free from the struggles of this world, Charlton Kings Care Home and their excellent team will remain forever in our hearts.

Choosing Charlton Kings Care Home, led by the Manager and supported by an excellent team, was one of the best decisions we made for my mother-in-law's wellbeing.
The staff at the care home are warm, welcoming, and genuinely attentive. They treated her with dignity and respect, which was so important
as her Dementia worsened
The staff not only provided expert care for her physical needs but also made sure she felt comfortable and safe.
Their understanding of dementia and the challenges it brings was evident in everything they did but what stood out the most was the emotional support we received as a family.
In the final months of her life, we were grateful for the kindness, patience, and empathy the staff showed not only to her but to all of us.
If you're looking for a place where your loved ones will receive exceptional care and kindness during their most vulnerable moments, I highly recommend Charlton Kings Care Home.

I told someone Dad was spending a week at Charlton Kings Care Home, whilst we were on holiday, and they said I'd made the best choice.
There is no doubt this was correct and I have not seen a happier home. The staff's training must be excellent as they are all cheerful and thoroughly pleasant. Nothing
was too much trouble and I felt they cared for Dad. I've already put my name down for the future.

Whenever I visit Charlton Kings Care Home I am greeted by the most delicious smell of lunch cooking as well as by friendly, welcoming staff. The common areas and clients' rooms are clean and well looked after. The staff at all levels are helpful, chatty and kind. All in all, a great place to visit.

The staff are amazing, very kind to my mum and all the other residents. They take the time to engage with Mum and make her laugh. There are daily activities which involve everyone and provides stimulation for the residents. The staff make me feel very welcome when I visit and are always extremely helpful.
My Mum is safe and well cared for. A big thank you to you all.

The carers are kind, patient and caring, doing their best in an extremely challenging role. I would like to see the carers doing less paperwork so they have more time to chat with the residents and get to know each individual, maybe each carer being assigned to four/six residents. The home is warm,
and sometimes, the nice smells coming from the kitchen make it feel inviting. In the better weather, the use of the large garden should be encouraged.

We have recently recruited some amazing General assistants who support the whole team, enabling even more time for staff to spend with residents. My lovely friend resides at Charlton Kings Care Home and is the happiest she has ever been. Staff are polite and happy every time I have visited. I couldn’t praise the home enough for all they have done for my friend and how welcome they make visitors to the home. They always put the residents at the
heart of what they do. Would highly recommend for anyone looking for care for a loved one. The home always smells incredible too, which is a huge bonus!

The joyful kindness of all the staff; the engaged faces of residents; the fun activities in the lounge most afternoons; the homely, relaxed atmosphere; the delicious cakes offered with tea; this is a happy environment in which to feel safe and cared for when living independently is no longer possible.

My mother has been a permanent resident for two months. Despite her failing memory and instability on her feet, she has been treated as a valued individual both in the respect shown to her and the care afforded to her.
The home is well managed by the manager and ably supported by her senior team.
All of the carers are very kind, polite and friendly. As a GP working overseas, from what I have observed first-hand, I have every confidence in their ability to adapt in response to an individual resident's needs.

On behalf of my sister and brother, I would like to thank all the staff at Charlton Kings for looking after our mum for the last 15 months of her life.
Mum celebrated her 100th birthday there. It was a difficult time having Covid in the home, but myself, my daughter and the great-grandchildren were
able to be with mum, in our PPE. My sister went in the day before and decorated the lounge with bunting, balloons and flowers and Mum had a lovely surprise when she saw us. The catering staff baked a super cake for her and came in singing “Happy Birthday“ to her. We even had a glass of champagne.
Mum was virtually blind during her last few months a scary thing to happen to anyone, but the staff were so kind and caring and made sure Mum was comfortable and in familiar surroundings. Staff included Mum in any activities.
Mum had visitors every week, my brother and sister-in-law, my sister and her good friend and the staff were always attentive and supportive. The home was always very clean and smelled fresh.

My wonderful mother spent the last five years of her life at Charlton Kings care home. She was made to feel special and loved and the staff became both her carers and her friends. She was part of their family. The care home has a reputation for being a personable and homely care home, and it was certainly
that. My mother loved everything about it, the staff, the food, the events, the smiles.

Charlton Kings Care Home looked after my father for over eighteen months until he passed peacefully in February 2022. Throughout his time there he was cared for not just professionally but in a very personal way by all the staff. There wasn't anything that was too much for them to do for him. I commend

My mother-in-law was really lucky to spend another respite period in Charlton Kings Care Home. On her return, all of the staff were so friendly and chatty with my mother-in-law. We have such peace of mind that at 99-years-old she is not only receiving excellent care but in a very professional, caring
and friendly way. It gives us so much peace of mind to know that we are leaving her in capable hands. She really loves the social activity and being able to mix and have some fun with the other residents and carers. She always says that the food is excellent, and her room is bright, and she has everything that she needs. She particularly likes to use some of the add on services like having her hair done. When I left Mum this time, it was a special 100th birthday for one of the residents with a Hawaiian theme. The main rooms were decked out in flower garlands and bunting, and Hawaiian music was playing, and there was a real atmosphere of fun and celebration, and Mum settled in to enjoy the fun.
