The care given to my late mother was of the highest possible standard. Done with great dignity, compassion and care. Also, the kindness and care shown to myself and partner was excellent. Wonderful care home, excellent, kind, caring staff. My mother was given exemplary care in the 5 years she was there. Highly recommend.

My dad is currently in Charlton Kings Care Home. He is 91 and very frail.
The care home is a surprisingly upbeat place. When Dad returns from hospital or a trip out he is always warmly welcomed home. The staff have to do a very difficult and unglamorous job but are always friendly and helpful.
Even though Dad is struggling he always points out to me how good the staff are. They really look after him. This gives me so much reassurance. I appreciate it.
Dad enjoys the food too!
The staff monitor residents on an hourly basis and always update me on GP visits which is very helpful. He is in safe hands. That matters so much to me.

I would happily recommend this care home.

My husband for came for two weeks respite and absolutely loved your care home. He was relaxed and happy and I, in turn, was happy too. I hope in the future we will return for respite care. Thank you so much. I can't tell you how grateful I am.

My mother lived at this Nursing Home for some 20 months until her death.

She was given the very best of care during her residency at Charlton Kings Care Home, and throughout the various stages of her illness. The whole family is very grateful for the loving attention and care shown to her at all times.

My mother was only at CKCH for a few weeks but I am so glad that we moved her there from her previous care home and that they were able to look after her until the end even though her care needs had increased dramatically during that time. Without exception, everyone we encountered treated her with dignity, respect, compassion and affection. I was always greeted warmly and kept well advised of her progress. During the last 3 days, I spent at her bedside and following her death I was showered with friendship and kindness. Mum's care was exemplary and she ended her days surrounded by love. If she couldn't go home this was the next best thing.
Mum was unable to take advantage of many of the facilities at CKCH but from what we witnessed they are of the highest order. She couldn't eat much but was always offered something to tempt her and given assistance to eat it.

I have no hesitation in recommending the home.

My father was very well looked after, comfortable and had nothing but praise for the staff. He enjoyed the food, some of which the chef prepared especially for him. All are very hard-working, cheerful, professional and at the end, sat with him reading to him poetry which he liked.

I was greeted on the first day of my vigil by the head of care, given a full breakdown of his condition and the medication. I was offered refreshments then and at each subsequent meal/tea time. This was the case for the next 7 days as they cared for his and my personal needs. Doctors/district nurses were called each time he became agitated or in pain in order that this was controlled. He died peacefully in his sleep.

When first visiting my friend, I found an open, friendly and professional atmosphere at the home. My friend was resident for just over a year. She was always happy and contented with the excellent care she received from the friendly staff. In her final days, the home made special arrangements to care for my friend in the place she wanted to be.

My mother moved to Charlton Kings Care Home for respite following a bout of ill health. The need for long-term care was identified. In order to meet this need, my mother moved to another setting as she was not happy at Charlton Kings Care Home. I also felt that care staff did not give her the support she needed during her confused episodes.

The staff at Charlton Kings cared for my mother in her final weeks with compassion and care. They were supportive to myself and my sister and when my brother and his family came to spend her last days with her. They found everybody sympathetic, professional and caring. My mother was able to die in comfort and with dignity.

A friend of mine moved to the home last year and whilst I get lots of news this is the first time I've been able to visit. In more recent years I've had occasion to visit a number of care homes and I must say that this is one of the best. The bedrooms look comfortable enough but I was full of admiration for the staff who were cheerful and engaging. On the day I visited a whole host of children from a local school had come in to talk/help those who lived there, everyone appeared to have a great deal of fun!

My mother died peacefully in the care home on New Years Day. She had been a resident for nearly 9 years. Throughout this time she had been well looked after. The carers always treated her with respect, kindness, were always cheerful, helpful and happy to chat. We could not have asked for more.
