Nightingale is a purpose-built home, designed to combine luxury living with excellent care and support, including for EMI residents.

The home is situated in Ecclesfield, Sheffield, a stone’s throw from shops, local amenities and public transport and is easily reached by bus from the city centre. It’s proximity to the M1, makes it easily accessible from both the North and South of the country.
        
Nightingale is a spacious and stylish Care Home, registered with the Quality Care Commission to accommodate forty residents in thirty eight bedrooms. The majority boast en-suite facilities and all are fully equipped with telephone and television points, vanity basins, central heating and a high-tech nurse call system.
        
Elegant, well appointed dining room and plush, comfortable lounge overlook the charming landscaped gardens and lush, green playing fields beyond. The beautiful grounds outside are perfect for enjoying the fresh air and delightful, picturesque surroundings. Residents are also welcome to take advantage of several sitting areas, a quiet lounge, hairdressing salon, large passenger lift, a number of assisted and unassisted bathrooms and off- street parking with level access.

Nightingale is famous for the gourmet meals prepared by the chef every day. The appetising, tasty and nutritious menu at Nightingale provides residents with a healthy and varied diet. Specific dietary requirements and residents’ preferences are catered for. Meals are served in lovely dining room but residents can dine in their own rooms if they wish.

I cannot speak highly enough of the staff at Nightingales. The level of care they provide is excellent and is adapted to each resident. All members of staff are extremely approachable and communicative. In addition to the warm and friendly atmosphere at Nightingales, the accommodation is well maintained
and spotless.

My Mother has been in Nightingale for approx 15 months.
I can honestly say it has been a 'god send'. She has settled in really well and received exceptional care. From the manager to all carers and office staff, everyone is friendly and welcoming.
Activities are varied and there is a great atmosphere.
The
choice of menu is good and the chef is so accommodating. Would have no hesitation in recommending Nightingale.

With all we read in the press nowadays, I was anxious about choosing a care home for my mum, but Nightingale proved to be an excellent choice. The staff treat my mum with kindness and always attend to her needs promptly. The home has a warm, family atmosphere. It is clean and modern and I always feel
welcome when I visit. My mother really enjoys the activities. I have no hesitation in recommending Nightingale.

My father-in-law has been in this home for nearly 3 years and we are so happy with the care given by all the staff. The staff are friendly and we are always made to feel welcome when visiting. He loves the singers and all the different activities that are provided. The home is so clean, I am so glad
we chose this home and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

My mum has taken some setting in due to symptoms of her Alzheimer's but the staff have gone above and beyond to make her feel at home. There is always something happening to keep her occupied and there are plenty of places to sit and have a chat with her. I was upset when my mum had to go into a care
home but I definitely feel we picked the best one!

Fantastic well kept care home. Spotlessly clean with no smells at all.
All the staff we met were great with all the residents and dealt with them with patience and kindness.
The assistant manageress was particularly helpful.
Would recommend this home to anybody.

My dad is so happy and content at Nightingale. His physical health and well-being has improved immensely. He thinks he's in a five-star hotel. The staff are so helpful. Nothing is too much trouble. Even management is hands-on. There is always entertainment and activities which are inclusive to all of
us. Recently, my mom passed, and all the staff stepped up for both my dad and me. I could never thank them enough. Knowing my dad is safe and happy is good.

Very friendly and caring care home. Staff can't do enough for Mum and our family. Mum is treated as an individual, and everyone knows her little ways and quirks. She is clearly loved and cared for. There is always something happening at Nightingale, something for everyone. My mum doesn't join in with
activities, so it was fantastic to hear that one day she was taken out for lunch at a local farm.

The staff are always friendly, and they go above and beyond to make the residents feel dignified and comfortable. The facilities are always clean and tidy. The meals are lovely and varied, and his room is amazing. I can't thank them enough.

On every visit to see my mum, I am happily greeted with a smile.
All staff and helpers are so thoughtful, caring and helpful on all my visits.
Mum seems to be settling in ok after 3/4 weeks.
It's so much a comfort to know and see photographs, which are taken daily of my mum, to see her participating
in activities.
Staff reassured us about Mum on our visits that she is doing ok.

Staff are always accommodating, helpful and accessible. Take an interest in the residents. My mum is well cared for. The Christmas party was excellent; everyone was included in the day.

The management at Nightingale takes great pride in the way they look after the residents. The staff have a very difficult job looking after people with dementia. They work in a way that always treats people with dignity. The staff try very hard to entertain the residents as far as dementia will allow.
The manager does an excellent job of making sure residents come first in any decision-making. All in all, they are doing a very good job with my mother-in-law, whose dementia is slowly getting worse.

I was nervous of putting my mother in a care home but I now know I made the right decision based on the care and compassion of the management and staff at Nightingale. My mother has settled well and is happy there, where she is well looked after and given some simulation with activities and trips outside
the home. Dementia is such a difficult illness and they deal with it fantastically well in difficult circumstances.

Unfortunately, due to ill health, I am unable to care for my husband at home. However, I have peace of mind knowing he is well cared for while he is at Nightingale. I have seen how the staff treat my husband and others with kindness and respect. I frequently visit Nightingale and there is always a warm
welcome. The staff are so friendly. I enjoy the outside area, it is wonderful to sit out with my husband. He, however, enjoys the pub!

Job Title: Care Manager

Nightingale is run by our super efficient, wonderfully compassionate Home Manager, Julie Wright, who has joined Nightingale to lead it in its quest for excellence in all areas.


Our outstanding care team are also dedicated and highly qualified; all have completed NVQ levels 2 or 3.


We insist on a high standard of care, so our employees are carefully selected for their qualities of reliability, integrity, skill, friendliness and professionalism. Full induction training is provided and continuing professional development is undertaken by each member of staff. Attentive and compassionate carers are available twenty-four hours a day. The high staff-resident ratio enables us to provide companionship and stimulation, as well as tending to the residents’ physical needs.


In addition to the Care staff, Nightingale also employs an administrator, expert cook, domestic staff, catering and a maintenance person.
