Nightingale is a purpose-built home, designed to combine luxury living with excellent care and support, including for EMI residents.

The home is situated in Ecclesfield, Sheffield, a stone’s throw from shops, local amenities and public transport and is easily reached by bus from the city centre. It’s proximity to the M1, makes it easily accessible from both the North and South of the country.
        
Nightingale is a spacious and stylish Care Home, registered with the Quality Care Commission to accommodate forty residents in thirty eight bedrooms. The majority boast en-suite facilities and all are fully equipped with telephone and television points, vanity basins, central heating and a high-tech nurse call system.
        
Elegant, well appointed dining room and plush, comfortable lounge overlook the charming landscaped gardens and lush, green playing fields beyond. The beautiful grounds outside are perfect for enjoying the fresh air and delightful, picturesque surroundings. Residents are also welcome to take advantage of several sitting areas, a quiet lounge, hairdressing salon, large passenger lift, a number of assisted and unassisted bathrooms and off- street parking with level access.

Nightingale is famous for the gourmet meals prepared by the chef every day. The appetising, tasty and nutritious menu at Nightingale provides residents with a healthy and varied diet. Specific dietary requirements and residents’ preferences are catered for. Meals are served in lovely dining room but residents can dine in their own rooms if they wish.

The standard of care is very good. All the staff are keen to help the guests and are very attentive. The staff are patient and nothing is too much trouble and if asked to do something, it is always done quickly.

Nightingale care home has efficient, friendly staff who are attentive to the needs of the residents. The environment is good and there are activities to enhance the lives of the residents.

What a lovely care home, all the staff are very helpful and very caring with my mother, nothing is too much for them night or day. They keep me and my father updated every day on how my mum is doing. I cannot fault them, the empathy and understanding is exceptional.

It is a pleasure to visit mum, the staff and atmosphere is always welcoming. Any concerns ideas and information is always listened to professionally by staff and management, Any financial affairs are dealt with promptly and professionally by admin too.

My mother has been a resident in Nightingale for 4 1/2 years now and the care she receives is outstanding. The staff and management are friendly and very approachable, nothing seems too much for them. As family members we are always encouraged to put forward our views and are always "kept in the loop"
as to what is happening within Nightingale. I feel the care my mother receives is of an excellent standard and because of this I feel at ease knowing my mother is safe and well.

My mum has been in Nightingale Care Home since November 2016. The home she was in before closed down. I am more than pleased with the care she gets. She seems content and happy. The staff and management seem happy at their work and always busy. They are always willing to answer any questions I ask regarding
mums welfare. I am very impressed with everything about Nightingale Care Home.

My mum is being looked after she is an old lady who can't remember anything and needs care even though she doesn't think she does. She doesn't want to be in a care home and we don't want her in one but there is nothing we can do she needs looking after 24.7.

My mum has been in Nightingale for about 5 and a half years. She is well settled and regards this as her home. Because of the nature of my mum's dementia she can be very difficult at times, the staff manage her very very well.

The biggest testament to the care provided is that my father is as happy and content as I have seen him in a long time. He is not the easiest resident to deal with but is managed to take into his account his current moods to make him as presentable as possible. The activities stimulate him and he loves
the entertainment and activities provided. Having consistent carers promotes confidence in him and allows tasks to be undertaken who understand his condition and mood. The home is clean and food and drink very good to such an extent that he continues to put on weight.

Julie Wright

Job Title: Care Manager

Nightingale is run by our super efficient, wonderfully compassionate Home Manager, Julie Wright, who has joined Nightingale to lead it in its quest for excellence in all areas.


Our outstanding care team are also dedicated and highly qualified; all have completed NVQ levels 2 or 3.


We insist on a high standard of care, so our employees are carefully selected for their qualities of reliability, integrity, skill, friendliness and professionalism. Full induction training is provided and continuing professional development is undertaken by each member of staff. Attentive and compassionate carers are available twenty-four hours a day. The high staff-resident ratio enables us to provide companionship and stimulation, as well as tending to the residents’ physical needs.


In addition to the Care staff, Nightingale also employs an administrator, expert cook, domestic staff, catering and a maintenance person.
