Nightingale is a purpose-built home, designed to combine luxury living with excellent care and support, including for EMI residents.

The home is situated in Ecclesfield, Sheffield, a stone’s throw from shops, local amenities and public transport and is easily reached by bus from the city centre. It’s proximity to the M1, makes it easily accessible from both the North and South of the country.
        
Nightingale is a spacious and stylish Care Home, registered with the Quality Care Commission to accommodate forty residents in thirty eight bedrooms. The majority boast en-suite facilities and all are fully equipped with telephone and television points, vanity basins, central heating and a high-tech nurse call system.
        
Elegant, well appointed dining room and plush, comfortable lounge overlook the charming landscaped gardens and lush, green playing fields beyond. The beautiful grounds outside are perfect for enjoying the fresh air and delightful, picturesque surroundings. Residents are also welcome to take advantage of several sitting areas, a quiet lounge, hairdressing salon, large passenger lift, a number of assisted and unassisted bathrooms and off- street parking with level access.

Nightingale is famous for the gourmet meals prepared by the chef every day. The appetising, tasty and nutritious menu at Nightingale provides residents with a healthy and varied diet. Specific dietary requirements and residents’ preferences are catered for. Meals are served in lovely dining room but residents can dine in their own rooms if they wish.

Nightingale is a really nice, friendly place, all the staff are kind helpful and thoughtful, you can see they really enjoy the job they do. My mum came here to be back home with family and the change in her is unbelievable. She's happy, confident and well looked-after and that's down to the amazing
care and support she receives from all staff at Nightingale. Can't thank them enough.

The staff are absolutely amazing, very caring and extremely helpful. There is always someone on hand when needed and there is always a helping hand available, not only for residents but always there for the family also. Management are fantastic and keep you well-informed of any changes etc. I can honestly

I visit my good friend and ex-neighbour at Nightingale at least once a week. I find the staff very helpful and friendly, plus they are always caring to the residents and look after them well.

I just want to say a big thank you to all the team for looking after my mum (who is a resident) so well. In a way, they also look after my dad who visits my mum daily. They make a painful experience of seeing my mum (or in my dad's case, his wife), slightly less painful because of the love that exudes
from every staff member. My mum was in another care home where staff sat looking at their phones and did the very basics. Well not at Nightingales, it is a superb example of putting the time and resources where it matters. It's a horrible horrible heartbreaking feeling when placing your loved ones into care but the love and care shown by everyone really helps to reassure you. When I visit, I see a lot of what is happening as the team goes about their work and I feel humbled by the care, love and no little humour that is given to everyone. Thank you very much.

We had to move my mother-in-law to Nightingales when the home she had been in said they could no longer meet her needs (she was having frequent falls). From the second I set foot in the communal area, I knew that Nightingales was the right place for her. There is always a lovely atmosphere and you are
welcomed whenever you visit (I inadvertently arrived at dinner time one day which I thought would be a problem but I was welcomed as normal). There are frequent activities both on-site and off. My mother-in-law received more stimulation in her first week at Nightingales than she had in the months she had been in the other. The biggest asset of the home though is the staff. The manager and deputy manager lead by example and the interactions and conversations between the staff and residents are heartwarming. You can tell they all know each resident really well and that they genuinely care. There is always laughter. Nothing is a problem or a hassle. I cannot recommend it highly enough.

All staff are caring and kind and the home is warm and inviting. There are plenty of activities organised for the residents who are encouraged to be as independent as possible. I feel that my father is being looked after very well at Nightingale Care Home.

Nightingale has a warm, friendly, welcoming environment. The staff are respectful, caring and helpful. It is good to see the management team being involved with hands-on care and supporting their staff. We are kept very well informed about all aspects of care. I am very pleased with the care and attention
my mum receives. I have already recommended Nightingale to others. My mum often remarks how lovely the staff are. I wouldn't want her to be a resident anywhere else. We are very lucky.

My grandma is very settled and happy at Nightingale. The manager and the team are fantastic with all the residents in their care and treat them all with respect and dignity. I couldn't recommend this place highly enough, and I'm so pleased that we chose Nightingale for our grandma.

Nightingale is a very relaxed and friendly place to visit. The staff are amazing to the residents. They engage the residents with numerous activities, and there is always something to look forward to. The care home is well maintained and is always clean. I know when I leave after a visit that my mother

We visit regularly, and the residents always appear happy, content and well cared for. We are pleased with the facilities and the entertainment package, (although currently restricted), is very good and residents are always encouraged to participate. I have found Nightingale care home a very good home. The staff are very caring and helpful to the residents and visitors. The home is bright and clean, nothing is too much trouble for the management team and is lead by an excellent manager and assistant manager. I would recommend Nightingale care home.

Nightingale‘s was recommended to me by a friend and I struck gold with this place. If you read the Care Quality Commission report you will see what an outstanding impression the leadership made on the inspectors. It was obvious as soon as we met the carers that this was a well-run place where the carers
think highly of the management and said it was a good place to work. That is so important in a care home, to make sure that the staff remain motivated. We didn’t ask mum how well the carers were doing, but every time we went to see her she always said how lovely the staff were to her. This is the most important thing when you’re looking for a care home. Forget about wonderful reception areas and Louis the 16th furniture to impress the relatives, find a place where the staff really love their patients and this is one of those rare places. Many places we contacted explained that they did not want dementia cases. Nightingales is the opposite and welcome and love everyone.

Job Title: Care Manager

Nightingale is run by our super efficient, wonderfully compassionate Home Manager, Julie Wright, who has joined Nightingale to lead it in its quest for excellence in all areas.


Our outstanding care team are also dedicated and highly qualified; all have completed NVQ levels 2 or 3.


We insist on a high standard of care, so our employees are carefully selected for their qualities of reliability, integrity, skill, friendliness and professionalism. Full induction training is provided and continuing professional development is undertaken by each member of staff. Attentive and compassionate carers are available twenty-four hours a day. The high staff-resident ratio enables us to provide companionship and stimulation, as well as tending to the residents’ physical needs.


In addition to the Care staff, Nightingale also employs an administrator, expert cook, domestic staff, catering and a maintenance person.
