My mum is very happy at Wavertree. She has settled very well, and her home is her room. Olly was great at putting up pictures. All the staff have been and still are fantastic! They are so caring, kind, and do everything they can to make the residents feel comfortable, happy and safe. The welcome at
reception is warm, and I've always found them helpful, considerate and informative. A great place for my mum.Thank you!

Oaklands Care Home originally cared for my father between 2021 and 2022. He received excellent care when he was there. When my mother got to the point where she needed greater help than she was receiving at home, we had no hesitation in asking Oaklands to care for her from mid 2025, initially on a respite
care basis and now as a full time resident. Beti and her team are caring and professional and always do their best to provide an excellent service, whilst working in conjunction with family members to keep them appraised of day to day issues.
Reply from Beti Koder, Manager at Oaklands Nursing HomeDear Andrew,
Thank you for your lovely review. Your mom is a very lovely lady and we are very happy having her at Oaklands. Knowing her before she became our resident as a wife of one of our residents, makes our relationship totally unique and in many ways helped to create better relationship between us all.

My mother spent two weeks in Wavertree House while her toilet was replaced at home. I was very happy with her stay. Overall it was a positive experience; nothing was too much trouble for the very pleasant staff; her room was spotlessly clean, warm and had a lovely view over the garden. She particularly
enjoyed having an assisted bath, complete with coloured highlights! Her only complaint was in relation to meals arriving at unpredictable times and sometimes cold, but the regular tea and coffee trolley with biscuits and sometimes homemade cake was a delight. Having a kitchenette also helped her to feel independent, and being able to get her hair cut was a bonus.

I found myself in unfamilia terrirory when mum became ill with Dementia and was told she would need to go in to residential care, but with the amazing support and care shown towards my mum and myself we settled quickly. From the management, nurses and every carer their compasion and empathy showned to
all residents is exemplary. There is lots of activitys which mum loves doing painting, drawing, playing games and trips out.I am so happy that i can visit at any time, take her out or just sit in the garden then go home knowing she is safe and happy.I recomend to everyone looking for a warm and happy environment to place a love one, oaklands is 1st class and after 5 months my mum is thriving.
Reply from Beti Koder, Manager at Oaklands Nursing HomeDear Debbie, thank you for your lovely words. We are all very happy to look after your mom and is great to hear that you are happy with our care as well. Oaklands Nursing Home

I have just recently lost my mum who lived at Oaklands for just over five years. Throughout that time, the care that she received has been exemplary and I am so grateful to Beti and all the lovely staff who made those final years as good as they could possibly be for an increasingly confused and infirm
elderly lady.
It's a beautiful building with excellent rooms and facilities which are always clean and airy, but it's the staff who made Oaklands so very special. The genuine affection that they have for their residents was so clear throughout my mum's time there. Nothing was ever too much trouble and they looked after her in a way that I will always be grateful for. They saw beyond the increasingly confused 91 year-old who could be very determined to do things her own way (!) and connected with the lovely person that she was.
I will miss my mum but will also miss the friendly welcoming atmosphere and people at Oaklands. You are superheroes, thank you so much xx
Reply from Beti Koder, Manager at Oaklands Nursing HomeDear Graham,
Thank you very much for wonderful words as always. I am sure that I am speaking in the name of all my staff when I say that we will all miss your mom and that it was our pleasure looking after her all these years. Like you said, she had her own way of doing stuff but she also had the most infectious smile and was able to melt anyones heart in the moment no matter what she did. We will all remember her for years to come the same we will miss you and your lovely family. Thank you for you kindness and the support you' ve given us all these years. Regards, Beti

We love that there are flats here and not just rooms. My lady wanted a separate bedroom and sitting room as well as a small kitchen and bathroom. The care here we have found so much better than the previous two care homes she tried. The residents here are treated so kindly and with a lot of respect.
She has never said anything that has worried us since moving here. Everyone has treated us kindly as well and we couldn't be happier.

From the moment I met Beti at Oaklands I had a good feeling. After being shown around, I just knew this was the place for my mother and after a year of mum being there I have been proven right! The kindness, care and friendliness shown to both my mother and myself is above and beyond what I have experienced
in previous homes. All of the staff are outstanding and any request is met with prompt attention - nothing is too much effort. The head of activities keeps them all busy - balloon tennis is very popular with my mother and the other residents and if they wish to do something else he comes up with alternatives, no one is left out. From the day mum moved in my constant worries disappeared and one cant say more than that!
Reply from Beti Koder, Manager at Oaklands Nursing HomeDear Susan. Thank you for your beautiful review. It is always nice to hear that we are doing it right. I would like to say thank you to you as well as you are always ready to help and very understanding with everything. Your mom is really lovely and we are happy to be able to look after her.

Oaklands Nursing Home

My mother moved into Oaklands in February 2025. The rooms in the new wing are spacious, modern and ensuite with her room having direct access to the garden. The communal living area is nicely styled and comfortable with doors to a sun terrace. This is where the activities (singers, craft, games etc)
take place. The bedrooms in the original part also appear nice in passing.

The most important part is care. I really can't speak highly enough of the care she has received. The staff are genuinely caring and friendly not just to patients but also to the family. My mothers requirements (dementia and unable to walk) are high needing turning regularly and fed (with a lot of patience), having food liquidised (actual meals not just fortified readymade). I have seen the chef doing his rounds taking orders and meals appear of high standard.

The best thing I can say is that when I leave after visiting I don't feel worried about her care, which I suppose is all we can hope for.

Reply from Beti Koder, Acting Manager at Oaklands Nursing HomeThank you very much for the kind words. Our award is happy resident and happy families. I am really glad that our effort is obvious and appreciated. I will make sure my staff are aware of your comments. To add on, it is never difficult to be nice to a family member such as yourself and your father. The devotion you both show to your mom and wife is very much admirable and is inspiration for all of us to do and be even better.

My mother was at Oaklands for a relatively short space of time before she sadly passed away. However, I can without hesitation recommend Oaklands very highly. All the staff really cared for mum and did their utmost to make her time there as comfortable as possible. Her room was lovely; very spacious
and they were extremely accommodating regarding the personal possessions she wanted around her. We were always informed of any updates in mum's care, the communication was excellent and myself and my brother had no doubts that mum was receiving the best possible care. We would like to express our deep and sincere thanks to everyone at Oaklands.

My Mother's room is spacious and comfortable. There has been a lot of building works going on but these are almost complete and the new balcony and garden will be a lovely asset in the Summer.
The staff are friendly and go out of their way to ensure the residents are comfortable and happy.
The Manager
and Deputy Manager are always very responsible to any queries or concerns I have and keep me fully informed.
Visitors are welcomed at any time and there is a warm, informal atmosphere.
I work as a Health Professional myself and am very aware of how difficult working in this sector is , but Oaklands have made a marked improvement in my mum's general health and well-being.
I found the idea of placing my mum in a Nursing Home very difficult, and I looked around at a number of homes but feel I made the .right choice with Oaklands, and am relaxed that my mum is well cared for.
Reply from Beti Koder, Manager at Oaklands Nursing HomeThank you very much for your lovely review. We are very proud to hear that you are happy with your moms placement and you think she is looked after well. Thank you also for being so understanding and supportive during this building work.
