My late father spent the last 2 years of his life at Stamford House, it may not be the most aesthetically pleasing building but the care for the residents is exemplary.
Regular phone calls to update me on Dad's wellbeing, a warm welcome when I visit including a cup of tea (most welcome after the 4-hour
drive), and to see Dad happy and content is priceless and is a weight off my mind.
A huge thanks for the care the team gave my dad.

My father went into the home as he had a fall and could no longer stay at home. The staff are brilliant and very thoughtful towards my dad I cannot thank them enough. A very big well done to you all! They are always in touch and keep us informed regards my dad. He has settled really well and they show
him so much respect and treat him with dignity.

My uncle, who suffers from dementia, was taken into hospital in February of this year. He was extremely weak and had been neglecting to eat, drink and take his medication. He was released into the care of Stamford House for a care assessment - and there he remains. It was at the height of the pandemic
and we, as a family, have nothing but praise for the staff there. When he left hospital his prognosis did not look good. He was still extremely weak. He has gone from not being able to get up, stand or walk without the aid of two carers to being able to walk around on his own without the use of the frame available to him. As I live abroad I have not been able to visit him there yet, but the staff have enabled me to enjoy Zoom calls with him, where I can see the genuine affection he has for staff members and how this affection is reciprocated. He is happy there and this is a great relief to us as a family. His dementia, of course, cannot improve but the activities that constantly take place.

Inspection ratings
We rate most services according to how safe, effective, caring, responsive and well-led they are, using four levels:
Outstanding - the service is performing exceptionally well.
Good - the service is performing well and meeting our expectations.
Requires improvement - the service isn't performing as well as it should and we have told the service how it must improve.
Inadequate - the service is performing badly and we've taken enforcement action against the provider of the service.
No rating/under appeal/rating suspended - there are some services which we can't rate, while some might be under appeal from the provider. Suspended ratings are being reviewed by us and will be published soon.
Ticks and crosses
We don't rate every type of service. For services we haven't rated we use ticks and crosses to show whether we've asked them to take further action or taken enforcement action against them.
There's no need for the service to take further action. If this service has not had a CQC inspection since it registered with us, our judgement may be based on our assessment of declarations and evidence supplied by the service.
The service must make improvements.
At least one standard in this area was not being met when we inspected the service and we have taken enforcement action.
