Appleton Lodge care home, located in Bredbury, on the outskirts of Stockport, provides personalised residential and residential dementia care from a welcoming and purpose-built setting.

As well as offering a range of premier, single and en-suite rooms, with something suitable for everyone, Appleton Lodge care home boasts a selection of specially designed dining areas that provide the perfect space to enjoy mealtimes. The catering team prides itself on ensuring that each meal is an enjoyable and heart-warming experience for every resident as well as any visitors.

The team also take great pride in keeping the garden looking beautiful with flowers that bloom throughout the year and a vegetable patch, which residents often help to tend to.

My mother has been living at Appleton Lodge for two years. During this time her needs have changed but have been fully met by the management and staff without any problems. My mother and our family are very pleased with her care and feel fortunate that she is in such a safe and caring environment. The
staff are wonderful with my mother, their medical and personal care for her are excellent, they treat her with respect but are cheerful, friendly and we feel like part of a big family. The facilities at the home are modern and clean. The atmosphere they have created is very welcoming and inclusive; this applies to all residents, family and friends who come to visit.

From day one all staff have been helpful. They take care of not only the resident but their family too. You are not excluded from anything and are actively encouraged to contribute to their welfare and care. Good onsite care from third parties i.e. chiropody, hairdressers, GP etc. I would be happy to
be a resident here should the need ever arise.

Since moving to Appleton Lodge Care Home our mum's quality of life has improved immensely. In the previous home, she was left in her room all day.I and my sister visited every day to make sure that she at least got to walk around as she was becoming extremely depressed. Appleton's manager and staff
provide fantastic care and support and she now has made friends in the home and is so much happier. We cannot thank you enough for providing such a lovely place for her to be. Your cleaners keep the place absolutely spotless.

I am extremely happy with the care my mum receives at Appleton Lodge Care Home. Importantly, my mum is very happy, contented and feels safe. The staff are very approachable and most of them have been there for many years and know all the residents very well. Appleton Lodge Care Home is just the right
size with 30 residents 15 on each floor which gives the care home a real homely feel to it. There is a lovely garden for residents to sit in on sunny days.

We consider ourselves extremely fortunate to have been given a place for my father in Appleton Lodge Care Home. The manager and her team are young, optimistic and enthusiastic. They smile and are pleasant and upbeat at all times, even on what must be difficult days. Without exception, all the staff
are kind and caring to my Dad who can sometimes be grumpy and difficult. Dementia has badly affected appetite and all the carers try to coax him to eat - sometimes bribing him with two puddings if he won't eat much main course. I feel he is in a safe and caring environment with lovely people - what's not to like about that?

Appleton Lodge is an excellent home. It is always warm and welcoming. The staff are friendly and caring. They work very hard to make Appleton Lodge a 'real home' for residents. My mother-in-law is very happy and settled. She has a clean and comfortable en-suite room. She loves sitting in the communal
area where she participates in daily activities, which are physically and emotionally stimulating. I would highly recommend it.

Although my mother has only been in the home for a few weeks I found that the atmosphere is very welcome and homely. Both management and staff are very helpful, nothing seems to be too much trouble. She has been in several care homes during the past four years for respite care but this home is by any

This care home is a 100% run as a home from home. The residents are treated as family in a safe, friendly, caring environment. I feel that my relative is treated with dignity and respect and every member of staff goes the extra mile to give them the life they deserve. I am happy with all the aspects

Kay Eadsforth

Job Title: Home Manager

“I believe that kind of care means treating people just as you would like to be treated and doing what you can to make a difference in their life.”


Kay has gained many years’ experience in providing care and support to older people, to enrich their lives. She is a knowledgeable and committed leader who is passionate about delivering the highest standards of care and quality of life for Residents.


Having worked for the company for several years, Kay closely shares HC-One’s vision in aiming to provide the kindest care for each and every Resident.


She extends this caring approach to her colleagues and works closely with them to deliver care and support to Residents in a way that they gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home.


She also works hard to arrange events and activities with nearby schools and clubs and is always keen to include the local community in life at Appleton Lodge.


When asked what she enjoys most about her role, Kay remarked: “I just love spending time with our Residents and being able to improve the
quality of their lives.”


Away from work, Kay enjoys reading and spending quality time with her family.
