Appleton Lodge is an excellent home. It is always warm and welcoming. The staff are friendly and caring. They work very hard to make Appleton Lodge a 'real home' for residents. My mother-in-law is very happy and settled. She has a clean and comfortable en-suite room. She loves sitting in the communal area where she participates in daily activities, which are physically and emotionally stimulating. I would highly recommend it.

My mother is currently at Appleton Lodge. Myself and siblings visit most days of the week. We all find the staff very helpful in everything concerning my mum's care. They are all really friendly to the family as well.

Although my mother has only been in the home for a few weeks I found that the atmosphere is very welcome and homely. Both management and staff are very helpful, nothing seems to be too much trouble. She has been in several care homes during the past four years for respite care but this home is by any standard the best.

This care home is a 100% run as a home from home. The residents are treated as family in a safe, friendly, caring environment. I feel that my relative is treated with dignity and respect and every member of staff goes the extra mile to give them the life they deserve. I am happy with all the aspects of the home and feel that I am treated as one of their family whenever I visit.

I am more than satisfied with the care my Mum is receiving at Appleton Lodge Care Home. She has settled in very well and we can relax in the knowledge that she is well looked after 24 hours a day. The home is kept very clean which is always a good outward sign of how well a place is run. My sister and I particularly like the relaxed atmosphere, where we can help ourselves to a tea or coffee and can even share a meal with the residents if we are inclined. Sometimes useful if you have to travel a long way as I do (80+miles). The carers themselves are friendly and respond quickly if a request is made to them. Efforts are made periodically to engage the residents in various activities. In all, the home appears to be very well run by caring and conscientious staff. I would therefore have no problem with recommending the care provided at Appleton Lodge Care Home.

The person I visit is the sister of a very close friend, who passed away. I visit every week and always find the staff very helpful and friendly. The home is extremely well cared for and they provide many activities during the week. My only fault would be occasional shortage of staff.

Mum has nothing but praise for the care staff. She is comfortable in her room. She enjoys her food and the companionship of others. The home has a lovely homely and welcoming feel. There is a good range of entertainment of the care staff spend time with the residents on a 1:1 basis when they can.

Care provider over the last six years has been good and staff work hard to meet needs of residents. Staff turnover has been relatively low which has enabled staff to get to know residents and respond to them as individuals, which is important. Needs of residents have risen considerably over the last six years (due to people staying at home longer before entering care) and this has impacted on staff and residents, ideally staffing ratios need increasing! The home are supportive of residents and their families and are happy to discuss any concerns. The home is bright and well presented but care provided is more important although I recognise that presentation is positive factor in attracting new residents!

I would like to say how impressed with the care and support the staff have given to mum since she has been in their care. The care has been personal and sincere. This has made a difference as a member of the family we know that she has been in good hands at this very sad time.

My mother has lived at Appleton Lodge for three years now. Since choosing this home which was a very difficult choice after viewing many at the time, I have not been disappointed. The home is very welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. The reassurance from the staff is amazing at times when the resident and family need support. This care home is very happy and the residents are very happy. The new manager is transforming the place all the time and meeting the residents needs. I would have no problem recommending this home and would like to say Thank you.
