Nestled within the popular residential area of Dukinfield, Greater Manchester, Yew Trees Care Home is an attractive and purpose-built home, offering tastefully decorated and comfortable en-suite rooms to accommodate residential dementia care.

At Yew Trees, residents benefit from a range of lovely dining areas where they can relax and enjoy an intimate dining experience with family and friends. In addition to the popular dining rooms, residents can also enjoy mealtimes in the peaceful courtyard garden on sunny days.

This home is a home to my mother-in-law. She is taken care of completely and the staff feel like family to her. I can always pick up the phone and talk to staff or see them there if I have a question or a worry. I said a good to activities because I am not always there to see what they do. The once
or twice that I did see an activity it was excellent. Thank you.

There have been a lot of changes at Yew Trees over the last couple of years, for the better! Yew Trees is a comfortable, happy home run by a good manager and dedicated staff, many have worked at the home for many years, providing continuity of care to the residents. I feel confident that my Mum is cared
for and looked after very well, especially now when we are going through these difficult times, and the home has had to close. Thank you to all dedicated staff who are working hard to keep my mum safe and well.

We struggled to find a suitable home to meet Mum's needs, which was causing a lot of stress on the family. On speaking to the senior staff at Yew Trees they were understanding and supportive and arranged to visit Mum at home. On this visit,d they were really interested in Mum, talked to her and observed
her behaviour. She was then admitted and we have never looked back. My Mum is now happy, clean and care for with compassion. The staff are experienced and enjoy their job and seem to be static (not high turnover of staff).

Generally happy with services provided.
However, signs on "understaffing" are apparent. Carers always rushing about - sometimes a lack of supervision in communal areas.

The staffing levels at Yew Trees are under constant review by the management team within HC-One. Each month or following any changes to occupancy and dependency levels, the Clinical Risk Register is updated which allows us to review whether the staffing levels in the home are sufficient in terms of skill mix and staffing numbers. There are occasions when staff have been absent from work and in the first instance, we tried to cover these shifts with our own staff or other HC-One staff from sister homes.

I feel the care provided is adequate, but I also fee that there is not enough staff sometimes when two carers are toileting residents it only leaves one carer on the floor to deal with situations which can occur, reducing the standards of care at this time.

Staff maintain a constant watch over the residents being occupied with the preparation of drinks, snacks and meals at various times of the day. Residents are attended to for personal needs, feeding, toilet visit or general social interaction. A congenial atmosphere is maintained creating a positive

Our mother has been a resident at Yew Trees just over 12 months and the care she receives is great. The care staff work so hard together with other employees of the home. They provide a caring and dedicated service to my mum. Nothing is too much trouble. At times, especially weekends, there appears
to be a shortage of staff for whatever reason? Therefore, the staff are even busier at this time. Our mother receives respected and dignified care by all the team.

The staff and care have been superb. From our first visit when we were trying to find a home the staff have been caring and kind.

A friendly atmosphere is evident when you walk in. All the staff are helpful and patient with residents. Individual needs are met and patients are free to move about the home if they choose.
A choice of food is available and dietary needs catered for. Staff will go to the shops for residents if they
require something and days out are also arranged.

From management to day carer/night carer/kitchen staff/ cleaners/ hairdressers/ volunteers, they are all amazing, nothing is too much trouble for any member of staff.


They are family orientated and looked after my mum as if she were their own. Cannot thank them enough.

My Mother is being well cared for by staff. Medicine doses have been checked regularly to ensure she is active and content. Room is clean and Mother is well fed. All staff are friendly and welcoming.

Since my dad has been in this home things have improved. Since the new manager has taken over the issues have all been addressed and everything about the home is getting better month by month. The staff are brilliant and always make you feel at home.
