Overall Experience

I added a review some months ago, when our mother became a resident. This new review is from my own experience on the 4th of July 26, when my wife and I were visiting mum, who we were sat with having a cup of tea together and a chat. Unbeknown to us, entertainment had been arranged for the residents, in the form of a singer/piano player, who played and sang songs from the 60s,70s,80s as well as oldies, like WE'll MEET AGAIN. At first only a few residents took any notice, but this changed after a few songs, with residents singing and clapping. This event became special when 4 carers involved themselves with the residents, in such a special and heartwarming way, these carers were not forced to join in, they had smiles on their faces, they were enthusiastic, they managed to get residents to dance, it was a very special moment to experience and see. These carers are wonderful people, who do genuinely care, I cannot sing their praises enough. Our mother is blessed to live there.

Mum came to the cedars in April. It was a stressful sad month as we lost our Dad too. Mum has settled well and every time we see her she is happy and seems to be enjoying being with the residents and the team. They all

Seem to love her and she shows it too. Made it easy for us in these hard times. She is safe and cared for and that brings us so much comfort

My father has been cared for at the Cedars since February 2026. All the staff are friendly and professional and are willing to meet any requests that we as his family make. The activities are varied and most useful including art and exercises. There is a warm and positive atmosphere throughout the Cedars and it is a pleasure to visit.
My father's room is spacious clean and tidy and looks out over the garden, which he appreciates very much. There is a ensuite and he appears to have settled into the routine of the Cedars.
He enjoys the meals and the laundry service is first class.

The care and support is consistent and staff listen attentively and take appropriate action to our requests.

I would like to thank all the staff for caring and being so friendly. Since my mother moved into the Cedars I have noticed a big difference in my mother. She is well groomed, well cared for and most of all seems happy. She also hasn't had any falls which is so reassuring. Also her general health seems to be improving.

To notice all these improvements in just 5 weeks is amazing. I'm sure the rest of my family will agree. We can only say a great big thankyou.

Outstanding Care - Truly Like Night and Day
My grandma has been in the care of The Cedars for over two years now, and I honestly cannot praise them enough.
The staff are incredibly kind, patient, and caring. They always treat my grandma with dignity and respect, and you can tell they genuinely care about the residents, not just as patients, but as people.
The food is excellent, with plenty of choice and proper attention to nutrition. The facilities are clean, comfortable, and well maintained, creating a safe and welcoming environment.
The management team is outstanding, approachable, professional, and always willing to communicate and help. Any concerns are dealt with quickly and compassionately.
Having experienced care elsewhere, the difference is like night and day. Compared to other places we've seen, The Cedars is on a completely different level.
As a family, we have complete peace of mind knowing my grandma is safe, happy, and genuinely cared for.

I would highly recommend.

My father in law had been at the home for 12 years and the love and care he received there meant it was my first choice when my aunt needed long term care. She has been there now for two years and throughout that time the staff have allowed her to settle in at her own pace, encouraging her to take part in activities and outings and ensuring she is protected and cared for while also allowing her her dignity and space when she needs it. She has always valued her independence, but after living with dementia at home meant it was not safe for her to be on her own, as a family we were concerned about how she would react to the change, But from the very first day she arrived we felt the staff understood her needs and treated her with kindness and compassion.

Mum has been at The Cedars for 7 months now. The staff helped her to settle well, and she remains calm and content. The staff are a cheerful team who treat Mum with dignity and respect. They seem very kind and patient. Activities are well organised, and Mum enjoys outings into the local village with one of her carers. We have been offered the chance to discuss Mum's ongoing care, along with plans and wishes for her end of life care when the times comes. All of this reassures us that she is safe and well cared for. We would happily recommend The Cedars to others.

The care my auntie has received at Cedars Care Home has been outstanding. She lives with dementia, and from the moment she arrived it was clear that the staff genuinely understand both the condition and the importance of treating residents with dignity, patience, and kindness.

The team go above and beyond to ensure she feels safe, comfortable, and respected. They have taken the time to get to know her as an individual, which has made a huge difference to her happiness and wellbeing. Staff are consistently caring, attentive, and professional, and nothing ever feels like too much trouble.

Communication with our family has been excellent, which gives us real reassurance that she is in the best possible hands. Cedars truly feels like a home rather than a care setting, and that is a real credit to everyone who works there.

I would highly recommend Cedars Care Home to anyone looking for compassionate, high-quality dementia care.

My mum has been at The Cedars for over 2 years now and has been happy there and well cared for. It's such a hard decision having to put a loved one in a nursing home, but knowing that she is safe and cared for helps relieve the pressure.
There are numerous activities for the residents to join in and the past few months she has enjoyed going out with one of the carers every fortnight which she loves.
The staff are caring and patient and like to have a laugh with my mum. I have no concerns.
Communication with the home has always been good and feel that the needs of my mum are met.

Would definitely recommend The Cedars.

Mum has been at Cedars for just over a year now. It was such a worry for us all, at the outset. A very difficult and worrying time but we knew it was the necessary step to take, without much knowledge or understanding of the process. Cedars made it so easy for us, welcoming us into their splendid home (more like a hotel!) with a warm and cosy lounge, like a Scottish Lodge! Mum has been widowed and lived alone for almost 33 years, so we were worried that living with others would be a concern. Not at all! She has made many friends (Upset a few on occasion, probably?!) and enjoys socialising with residents and staff in activities, exercises, and trips out. The staff are caring, patient, and attentive with Mum and also with family members. Timely comms when Mum is unwell. We are under no illusion and well aware that sadly her condition will continue to deteriorate, but as long as she remains comfortable, content, and most importantly, safe, we are grateful for the care she receives. Mum is well looked after!

I cannot recommend The Cedars Care home enough. My mum went into The Cedars in October 2024, I had viewed many homes but The Cedars to me stood out from the rest with its friendly cosy atmosphere, cleanliness and forever happy staff.
Being honest moving mum in on that first day was difficult but the staff were fabulous settling her in, making her feel welcome and putting us at ease and since then mum has put on weight, seems happier in herself, she takes part in all the daily activities and is often taken out to lunch in the local area by the staff.

Mum has found her new home and we couldn't be happier.

From start to finish all the staff have been amazing, from assisting with the interaction with the local authority through to the move. The care home is beautiful, clean with fantastic facilities. My relative is flourishing since her move into The Cedars 14 weeks ago. The daily activities and interactions with the staff provide us with much comfort knowing she is safe and well cared for in a lovely community environment.

Mum has received excellent care at The Cedars. The transition from home to residential care was something we were worried about but we didn't need to. She was welcomed and from the day she arrived was cared for and was treated as an individual, meeting all of her needs. She is thriving at Cedars. She had a pressure sore for 18 months at home and within 5 weeks at Cedars it was gone! The staff are amazing and I love the constant interactive events. As a family, we can't thank them enough. She is happy and very well in herself.

The Cedars are absolutely fantastic with mum. The staff are really caring and they show such compassion, treating mum with respect and dignity. Mum tell us she is “very comfortable “ there. Mums needs are met superbly well and her care package is constantly fine tuned as mums needs change. The meals are good, wholesome home cooked food and mealtimes really are something to look forward to. They have plenty of activities to keep mum occupied and she finds them very enjoyable, especially the painting. The building and grounds are beautiful and it is all spotlessly clean and smells fresh and pleasant. I couldn’t wish for a nicer place for mum.

The care my mum receives is outstanding. She is treated with respect and dignity and her care plan is updated as her needs change. The environment is clean and welcoming and I am kept up to date with activities and how mum is doing. I feel like the staff really know my mum. The staff are just so lovely and nothing is too much trouble.

My stepmother has been a resident at The Cedars Care Home since the end of March 2023, and I have found the home to be welcoming, caring and friendly.
My stepmother's needs are being met, and she is encouraged to join in the many activities which are available to all the residents and is treated with kindness and respect by all the members of staff.
I am kept informed of any events which are being organised and of any practical issues concerning her, which I may be able to assist with, and I receive the monthly newsletter with updates on all that is going on.

I am happy with the care that The Cedars is providing my stepmother.

My mum has been at The Cedars Care Home for several years now. She seems to be very happy there and has no complaints. The staff are always welcoming and friendly. She has a lovely clean and tidy room, and the food is very good.
My mum had an operation a while back, which resulted in her having to have a colostomy bag. The home was brilliant in managing this and provided extra training for the staff, so they were able to cater for her needs and support her.
They also do a lot of activities. My mum does not always want to join in, but does sometimes, and seems to enjoy the painting.

It is great to be able to visit again, now covid is over. I attended two events which the home has organised for residents and family. One at Christmas time, whereby they had a singer, and one more recently to celebrate the King's coronation. They had a singer and games (the coronation bingo was very good!) and a superb buffet. A great time was had by all. Overall as a family we are extremely happy with mums care.
