The Cedars is providing the best possible care for my mother. All staff are both attentive and professional to my mother and all our family when visiting.

My Father is an independent man who did not accept entry into a care home with ease. I am happy to say that the superb team of staff at The Cedars has made his transition comfortable My Father is thriving in the environment that the team works hard to provide. His health, both physical and psychological, has improved. Both he and I are relieved that his future is in such positive and caring hands.

My mother is treated with kindness and respect. The staff take great care of her health, noticing problems and responding quickly. The home is always welcoming and is well managed, always clean and there are signs of great attention to details such as seasonal flowers and decorations. My mum tells me she feels safe and very well cared for. The kitchen seems enterprising and offers freshly made good food.

My Mum was a resident at Cedars for 4 and a half years until she died at the end of March 2018. Mum was extremely happy living at Cedars and loved the staff, who looked after her exceptionally well. As a family, we were able to visit her at any time and we enjoyed their special events, such as their Christmas do and Summer fete.

Unfortunately, Mum suffered from dementia and deteriorated over the last 2yrs where she exhibited extremely challenging behaviour. I cannot speak highly enough of all the staff at Cedars. They tried different strategies in managing her and gave her time and patience. They treated my Mum with such respect right up to the end. They could not have done anymore for her. I would definitely recommend Cedars.

My father moved to The Cedars at the end of 2015 and we have been very pleased with it. They manage his needs well and have a really good understanding of how to cope with residents who have dementia. The surroundings are beautiful and the communal rooms are decorated and furnished to a very high standard. The carers get to know the residents and take a real interest in them. The manager, in particular, is outstanding. My father is happy there and the family are delighted with the standard of care and with the fact that we are made to feel welcome when we visit. I can highly recommend The Cedars.

My brother & I moved our dad into The Cedars in October 2015. He suffered from vascular dementia and various age related problems.
He recently passed away peacefully & painlessly.
Dad was very happy at the Cedars, he thought all the staff were wonderful.
We found the staff to be extremely caring, friendly & approachable, honest & hardworking.
Dad loved the food & until the last few weeks, he had a healthy appetite.

We both want to thank all the staff for the care they provided for our dad.

My mum has lived at The Cedars Rest Home since September 2013 and had progressively succumbed to her dementia. Throughout this time the staff at The Cedars Rest Home have coped magnificently with her increasingly difficult behaviour (constantly on the go and will not stay still, even at night) The staff are very caring and I know she is completely safe in their hands. The home is warm and clean and the food provided appears very tasty and nutritious. The staff always make sure the residents get enough fluids. There are also plenty of activities put on for the residents, although it is no longer possible for my mum to take part. There are also events through the year for families of the residents to attend such as a Christmas party, summer fete and bonfire night, complete with food and drink.

My mother moved into The Cedars around May 2016. The staff have always been pleasant, polite and accommodating. When requests have been made they have been prompt. Nothing seems too much. My mum has lost weight and reduced mobility but this is down to her not eating properly. The staff try very hard to be encouraging and she always looks to have been attended to well.

I feel that my father is very well cared for and looked after. His bedroom is warm and always kept clean and tidy. The food always appears to be hot, good quality and adequate quantities. The staff always seem friendly and caring. I don't think my father would be looked after better anywhere else.

The Cedars is a fantastic care home with extremely caring and professional staff. My mother has been and continues to be challenging due to her dementia, however, The Cedars have had the time, tenacity and kindness to make her feel at home, happy and comfortable. Many care homes would not take my mum because of this not The Cedars. First rate.

My mother has been a resident at The Cedars Rest Home for over a year, and although she has her problems, physical and mental I have always been grateful to the staff at The Cedars for their kindness, patience and professionalism in the care they provide for my mother. It is a great comfort for me to know that she is in good hands, I have got to know the staff at The Cedars Rest Home and I am pleased to note that turnover is very low. This is clearly a sign that staff are loyal and appreciated. The standard of care at The Cedars Rest Home is excellent.

Overall Experience

After experiencing the round of a host of mediocre homes The Cedars came as a "breath of fresh air". Apart from it's beautiful location, sloping garden and well kept terrace, (which my mother delighted in at all sessions) the state of the building, the exemplary care of the staff and the competency of the management were all of an extremely high standard and this is at a price that compared favourably with any of the "competition". My mother was properly looked after both her physical and mental needs fully met and stimulated, and her final eighteen months were enjoyed to the full. The Cedars has set the bar at a level that all care homes should strive to attain. Well done! You have my grateful thanks.
