Friendly staff that make you feel very welcome. You can visit any time and have meals with your relative.
The residents are treated well and have the option to socialise with other residents or relax in their rooms.
Meals can be had in their rooms or in the restaurant.

Extremely happy with Cedars. The environment is a friendly, caring and a genuinely lovely place for our mother to reside. The staff go above and beyond and we feel reassured the care is of a high quality.

My Aunt has resided at The Cedars since December 2015 and in that time I can only praise the staff there.
On our visits there I have been delighted with how the staff react to my Aunt and she with them.
I would like to add that in my conversations over the phone that I have found all to be so helpful
and considerate (and more importantly willing to chat) - care for the whole family.
I have no hesitation in recommending The Cedars to everyone.
Thank you so much.

Since my dad returned to the UK and moved into The Cedars, he has gone from strength to strength. His appetite is back and he is very content and happy. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff at The Cedars. They look after my dad, and all the other residents, so well.

They are always very welcoming

to me when I visit, and I always feel relaxed when I leave as I know he is in good hands

I would recommend The Cedars to anyone who needed to put a loved one into a care home. It’s a great place.

The staff are very kind and caring and have made every effort to help my mother settle in. They have all made the family very welcoming including inviting us to meals.
This level of consideration makes a great deal of difference in this time of change.

It's a huge decision to place a parent in a care home. I looked at so, so many but I knew I had found the 'Home' when I viewed The Cedars. The staff are amazing and I know mums care is their utmost priority. From moving into everyday care, they are supporting you as well as your parent.

Each resident is cared for as an individual. I am impressed with the standard of care and the patience of all the carers, especially with residents who may be difficult. It is also very good to see residents doing colouring in and playing simple, or should I say, easy games at a table with a carer.
There are also times when a group of musicians come in and play instruments and sing. The residents respond to very much indeed.

There are televisions in all lounges which residents like to watch. At Christmas, there are trees and decorations. Residents are stimulated by various activities. I like the fact The Cedars Rest Home is not a large care home and this is good and another thing I am pleased with is my husband is well cared for.

Mum has been here for 2 months. She has been well cared for and enjoys the visits from the hairdresser and the manicures. We feel happy that she is safe with dedicated, caring staff attending her. The lounges and gardens are well maintained. It is lovely to sit outside in peaceful surroundings.

The Cedars is amazing, they care for the residents and also care for the family members visiting. I have had many a meal with my dad in there and the food is great quality. I often visit and the staff will offer me a coffee and biscuit or cake, they really care for everyone. If I take my dad out they
will offer to lend us a wheelchair, make sure my dad is prepared and ready if I inform them in advance. They will take my dad to hospital appointments and save me taking time off work. I could not be happier with The Cedars and their care levels. In fact, my friend has moved her dad into The Cedars on my recommendation and she loves it too. Over the few years I have been visiting I have never seen a carer lose their patience and their compassion towards the residents is just amazing.

The Cedars is a well presented, welcoming care home in a lovely setting. The building is well organised and maintained with period features. The staff are welcoming and caring. The environment is calm and clean.
My aunt has been well cared for here and enjoyed two years of care here.

Consistently good. Staff cope very well with some difficult residents - but always with good humour.
A staff member accompanied my father to A&E recently after he fell (turned out he broke his hip), made sure has was OK until we were able to get there.

My Father is an independent man who did not accept entry into a care home with ease. I am happy to say that the superb team of staff at The Cedars has made his transition comfortable My Father is thriving in the environment that the team works hard to provide. His health, both physical and psychological,
has improved. Both he and I are relieved that his future is in such positive and caring hands.

My mother is treated with kindness and respect. The staff take great care of her health, noticing problems and responding quickly. The home is always welcoming and is well managed, always clean and there are signs of great attention to details such as seasonal flowers and decorations. My mum tells me
she feels safe and very well cared for. The kitchen seems enterprising and offers freshly made good food.

My Mum was a resident at Cedars for 4 and a half years until she died at the end of March 2018. Mum was extremely happy living at Cedars and loved the staff, who looked after her exceptionally well. As a family, we were able to visit her at any time and we enjoyed their special events, such as their
Christmas do and Summer fete.
Unfortunately, Mum suffered from dementia and deteriorated over the last 2yrs where she exhibited extremely challenging behaviour. I cannot speak highly enough of all the staff at Cedars. They tried different strategies in managing her and gave her time and patience. They treated my Mum with such respect right up to the end. They could not have done anymore for her. I would definitely recommend Cedars.

Current Review Score: 9.6 (9.615)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.6 (9.615) out of 10 for The Cedars Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  1. The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.
  2. The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.7 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  1. 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months. The Average Rating of 4.915 for The Cedars Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (97 Excellents x 5) + (9 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 106 Ratings = 4.915
  2. 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5'). The 4.7 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for The Cedars Care Home is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    1. 4 points are available for the first 20 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews, 0.05 Points for the next five Positive Reviews, and finally 0.025 Points for the next ten Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.050, 7th = 0.050, 8th = 0.050, 9th = 0.050, 10th = 0.050, 11th = 0.025, 12th = 0.025, 13th = 0.025, 14th = 0.025, 15th = 0.025, 16th = 0.025, 17th = 0.025, 18th = 0.025, 19th = 0.025, 20th = 0.025) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 + 0.05 = 3.7
    2. 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 34 registered maximum number of service users is 6.8, which has been reached with 9 Positive reviews. Points = 1
  3. When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.
  4. If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
